Amazing views, cutest little place, we enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely will be back!! Fina was so wonderful and quick to respond to any of it questions!
This lovely space is quiet, has lots of natural light, is very clean, safe, and has fabulous views from the dock. Itâs very calming. Highly recommend this to anyone wishing for a peaceful retreat from the world. Easy communication with a friendly host. Would stay here again. Thank you Fina!
We had a great stay, the bungalow was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the deck across the road to sit and watch the sunset. We also used the kayaks and paddled over to the blue hole and saw lots of turtles in that cove. Thank you Fina for the hospitality!
My husband and I found the cottage fit our needs perfectly. Just across the road was paradise - the soft, blue waters of the Bahamas. There's just nothing like it. Fina was a lovely host. The roads coming to the cottage are very rough though so keep that in mind.
The host (Fina) and the property are delightful. If you are looking to do a little DIY bonefishing - you are within a short walk/wade to miles of prime flats. If you need something more than the bungalow, ask about the other two houses on the grounds. Will definitely be back. Road wise, there will always be a mellow approach amongst the many roads leading to Seabreeze Drive. You can discover the best route on your own like I did. Or better yet, just ask Fina what she is using before you arrive. The best route can change over the year depending on storms, etc.
I recently stayed at Bungalow on the south side of Exuma, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the location offered stunning views and tranquility. Fina, the owner, was exceptionalâshe promptly answered all my questions and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing getaway!
Enjoyed my stay, it was close to my property I needed to do things on. Everything was to my expectations, beautiful setting and location. Amenities excellent
Absolutely loved the spot. Very clean, everything you could think of was there and the view is incredible. Plenty of toys to play with as well. Highly recommend booking with Fiona!
We had such an excellent stay and thoroughly enjoyed this little slice of heaven. Fina was very welcoming, we really enjoyed chatting and meeting some of the other locals/regulars. I also managed to catch my first ever bonefish. THANKS
The members of our group were from Sweden and felt right at home in is cozy apartment. The private boat dock had a great view to bonefish flats and was a lovely setting
We had the best week here! Everything was as expected - the roads are not ideal, but nothing you cannot navigate with a little patience. We had some issues with our flight coming in, and Fina was so kind and understanding throughout all of it! She was very responsive with any questions we had, even if they didnât pertain to the property. This was the perfect spot to get away and relax for the week :)
Fina is a very good hostess. The unit is small but cosy and comfortable. My only concern were the dogs. They are very friendly but barked more than I liked.
This place is so cute and cozy. Having coffee on the dock watching the sunrise and a cold Kalik to watch the sunset. And run amok on the island all day. Or just stay there and hang out on the dock, snorkel with the fish or literally walk over to the flats at low tide and bonefish. Something for everyone!
We had a fantastic time at this place. Our host, Josefina, was on site and was flawlessly hospitable and available.
The place is in a tranquil part of Exuma, with simply stunning views of the Caribbean side towards Mosquito Cay. Josefina has the place set up with all the basics to make the stay more enjoyable, plus other items such as snorkels, fins, kayaks and paddle boards.
Our kids (10 and 14) truly enjoyed the stay and Josefina's hospitality. We also enjoyed the company of her dogs when they were outside. They were docile and friendly.
We cannot express enough our gratitude for Josefina and her hospitality.
I highly recommend this place for travellers who want to experience Exuma more like a local. It offers quiet views at sunset or during the day.
My wife wanted somewhere to relax and chill and I specifically went to fish for bonefish. The house was an ideal set up for us, modern and with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The decking is literally 20 metres barefoot walk from the house and at low tide you can walk from there all the way out onto the flats for miles.
As a bonefishing virgin I caught 20 fish over an 8 day period with the flats virtually to myself.
Thankyou Fina for a great stay, already looking at dates to rebook for next year.
The property was as described in VRBO, Manager was very attentive to our needs. Very remote location if you want to get off the grid . Drivers beware though , roads are very bad and unmarked , we noticed the father you drive to southern part of cay, govt does not maintain roads as well. Once you arrive you will be met with views of the bay and beautiful sunrises and sunsets You must however beware of the treacherous sand fleas and No see ums, lather up with bug spray and you will enjoy your stay.
The roads to get there are terrible. The locks on the doors will keep you from going upstairs or into the garage, not keeping someone from coming in. The biggest thing was NO HOT WATER. There is a TV but no access to any channels. I had to watch the final four on my phone. The worst experience I have ever had .
Host fosters stray dogs (8), at the time of our stay. We were not able to sleep due to the dog commotion upstairs. I advised host, who intern offered me Xanax (illegal). We were not able to lock the adjoining & exterior door (which is a VRBO violation. Host resides upstairs and entered our suite without permission, and the bedroom where my husband was laying in bed. She made a lewd comment which was highly inappropriate. Cockroaches were present in the kitchen and bathroom . We checked out after one night and scrambled to find another rental for the remainder of our stay. Very unfortunate. I left the rental in tears..
Another wonderful stay. Surrounded by lizards, birds, colourful fish off the jetty, turtles butterflies. Beautiful sunrises. Literally on the waters edge. Plenty of kayaks and other equipment to use.
Accommodation clean, well appointed, plenty of big clean towels. air con.
Yes itâs on the south side of Exuma, the roads are rough so if youâre hiring a car get a 4wd. Yes there may be a power cut if thereâs an electric storm but candles and torches are provided. Good Wi-Fi, didnât turn on the tv at all so canât comment on that.
Fina helpful as always.
If you want to fish there are bonefish every where on the flats in front of the cottage on every tide. Had 60+ between 2lb and 4lb.
For the anglers out there, 8wt 10ft rod is about right 15ft leader, 8lb point. Shrimp patterns or gotchas. Stealth gotchas for fishing in skinny water. Tan or buff patterns to match the Color of the sand size 8,6 or 4.
The fish get spooky when fished for but by the mangroves you have the chance to see schools of 50-100 fish.
Cannot recommend highly enough
We actually only spent one night here and ended up in Seabiscuit over the road as it was free and right on the water. The owner kindly let us move over to be on the wate.
Bonefish Bungalow was clean and perfect as advertised. The owner was away but the housesitter upstairs looking after the dogs, Marjorie was a dream ! She showed us around the area, gave us a lowdown or what to do and how to navigate the roads and oneway system in town. We ended up staying in Seabiscuit for 6 of the 7 nights as it was available, i would reccomend if you can ! Its right on the water, the dock is incredible, we swam, kayaked, fished and chilled. The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed to cook lots of meals and the BBQ was great ! The beds were comfortable, the AC and fans all worked well and we would love to come back. As its been mentioned in other reviews, yes there are dogs that do occasionally bark but its for like 1 minute a day if that, its NOT a problem and if you are lucky enough for them to be allowed to visit for the day they are so sweet and friendly ! Coco came to our house (invited) and laid on the mat wagging her tail like she was our own as we missed our dog alot !. The bonefishing was excellent , my partner caught every time he went over to the sand bar at low tide when the tide was coming in.
The island is STUNNING never seen sea that turquoise before and we really enjoyed the day out on a boat with swimming pigs and igunas.
We felt safe the whodvertised
Hospitality was great. Our stay was comforting and easy. Our toughest time was mostly with the roads. We got there after an and rain storm that flooded the roads and the rental car company was out of jeeps and SUVs. We got stuck with a Nissan Juke that made driving through the mini ponds quite the butt clencher. The roads are not completed throughout the island so off roading was also on hand with the car, it survived and so did we but that had no effect on the location we stayed at
Bonefish Bungalow was designed and built by myself. Also designed and built by myself is the house across the street available for rent: Seabiscuit! Homeaway 143542
On the World Famous Bonefish Flats with the best Sunsets and star Gazing!
For what itâs worth, hereâs my wifeâs feedbackđ:
Bonefish Bungalow is our favorite place to stay in Exuma. Love it! Love the view! Love the gazebo- day and night. Love waking up to the view and hanging out by the water to read and paddle boat with kids. The owner- Fina- is accommodating and so welcoming. Plus, having unlimited drinking water is a game-changerâno more constantly buying jugs!
