Would never rent again

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property had an overwhelming bad smell of mold! My daughter was sick all week due to the mold smell! There was a wet moldy sectional rug rolled up in the lower level which we removed! Mold on curtains, thick dust everywhere!!people next door lived there, had big dogs who came on our property,couldn't get to our pool, dogs at our feet!! Housekeeping showed up after I cleaned the property!! Horrible experience!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Poor experience, the property was not taken care of. Chairs were broken , pool was dirty, no towels when we arrived and were messaged to wash the dirty towels that were there. Several **** roaches in the house as well as ants. There was patched holes in wall that were unpainted. Not my favorite would not rent though kitty hawk rentals again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was less clean than I had expected. There were big guts smeared on my bedroom wall in a couple of places. There was left over trash under pillows in the couch. The bedroom curtains had some kind of left over residue from sticky fingers. The sliding door stuck and was difficult to open and close. There was a small frog in the kitchen crawling on the wall. There was what looked like snot on the bedroom shams on the pillows. I stay at your properties every other year for several years and this was the least clean a house has ever been for us.

Beautiful House!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was beautiful, the pool was very nice and so was the hot tub. The beach was 1200 steps away which is a nice walk in the morning or evening. A fair warning to keep in mind is that spiders move in quickly, we started off with no spiders and by the day we left i saw like 15, but I hear that is common with any vacation house. Overall the house was fairly clean minus a stray Cheeto that got missed when they vacuumed. I do wish the beds were a bit more comfortable but it was a minor inconvenience. Just meant I was up earlier for my beach walks in the morning. I loved the ease of checking in and out and the code to get into the house compared to having to worry about a key. I would definitely recommend or rent again. Activity wise I would highly recommend bobs wild horse tours, it’s a quick drive from the property. Check out lighthouse bagels in the morning! Go early and be prepared for a bit of a wait but they are worth it!

Good Location, Very Poor Housekeeping

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was in a good location and although a little wear and tear (as would be expected with a rental) I was very disappointed with the housekeeping. One bathroom was not touched when we arrived there was mildew all over the shower curtain and soap/smudges all over the counter, mirror and shower. Thankfully I brought some cleaning supplies so I spent my first evening cleaning the bathroom and washing the shower curtain in the washer. There were cobwebs through out the house, in the stairways, several in the great room and cobwebs all over the light above the table. It is clear housekeeping is not being maintained and those cobwebs have been there for a while. The check in email discussed additional cleaning during covid. I just wish standard cleaning would have been provided. I did email about this when arriving Saturday but received no response until the next morning offering to send a house keeper back out but by then I had already cleaned the surfaces in question we would be touching.

Kitchen could use garbage disposal but everything works perfectly for dinner meals. Great location with great weather, would rent again. Hot tub temp required maintenance which fixed immediately.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was in a great location. bike ride to beach, restaurants or shopping. If you have family who cannot walk or ride a 4-5 block distance there is a public beach access with a parking lot and a 2 block easy walk just was a fairly quiet area other than on night of 3am partying a an adjacent home.The pool was great with plenty of toys to use. The decks get very hot on the feet when the sun shines on them. The decks could also use some paint and the railing that has been replaced with vinyl doesn't feel safe. I would like to see more info posted about the garbage and recycling. Coming from a place that does not have recycling we were unaware of what could be recycled.I imagine its difficult to do deep cleaning in the summer months but the carpets REALLY need to be cleaned. The beds were average in comfort and the full twin bunk was so squeaky no one could use it. The hot tub was unusable because when we tested the water we could feel an electrical current. They requested we not use it, which of course we didnt. They said they put in a work order but no one ever came and we were not notified of it being fixed. During our stay we went shrimping with Grandpas charters in Wanchese,nc and took a ride to see the wild horses, and went to the theatrical presentation of The Lost Colony. All things I would highly recommend. The kids wanted to learn crabbing but the wildlife center was not doing that because of staffing. The tour through the Whalehead club was well worth the $5-7. We were unable to do the lighthouse because of the lines. Restaurants I would suggest are The Lost Colony brewery and pub in Manteo, the philly cheesesteak place in corolla and the sushi place in corolla. Bernies Brothers place looked interesting but we didnt have time to try it. It was always busy though.With all said we had a great time and it was alot of fun.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience being in the Outer Banks is always phenomenal. The location of the home is perfect for the beach, shopping, restaurants etc. We loved the home but the home needed to be cleaned better. There were spider webs everywhere with their owners haha, the shower curtain, ceiling fans, and dishes needed to be cleaned. There were ants the whole week, even though we saw a trap for them it wasn't working. My hubby dusted the ceiling fan in our room but we couldn't get to all of them and the dust was thick. We think the cleaning crew could have done better and the home should have been exterminated before any guest arrived especially since it may have been vacant for a while due to Covid. Some of the appliances didn't work but we managed. The pool was great and the hot tub but we needed to contact maintenance for the jets and lights in the tub. Maintenance told us the tub is old and its hard to come by parts for it. So that might need an upgrade as well. Overall we liked the home and would go back if these things were dealt with. The beds are comfortable and the space in the home is great. The price was perfect as well.

We had some elderly and a handicapped person with us. We figured out a different way to get everything to the beach. Other than that it was an amazing week!!!

Nice, comfortable vacation home

Reviewer Comments: While we loved the house, it had everything we needed there were some issues that took longer than necessary to resolve. When we arrived, the house was surrounded in knee high grass (you couldn’t even see the horseshoe pits) and we asked to have this corrected when we picked up the keys on Saturday. The listing said there were bikes but we couldn’t find any. We contacted the office on Sunday and reported the issues (2 nd time for the grass) and they took down all the information. They called me back sometime Monday and said we should have received a key to a shed that held the bikes but we did not - while we were talking we got disconnected and no one ever called back. Finally on Monday, we stopped into the local office and were again told they were aware and were looking for keys to the shed and that they requested the grass to be cut (3rd time). Finally on Tuesday, the grass was cut )but blown into the pool) and someone finally came out and opened the shed. But that was day 4 of our vacation. This was probably our first and last time renting through Beach Realty. Their customer service is definitely lacking.
