We shared the following concerns with the property host and they responded quickly, but the concerns made for a difficult stay 3000 miles away from home
The location of your home was as described however...
1. The plug in air conditioning unit in the upstairs room blew hot air and does not have a ventilation hose. We attempted a variety of remedies to no avail. The bedroom is stifling hot causing very difficult sleeping conditions. Now with the fan removed from the living room, that room is very hot and uncomfortable.
2. There is also a fan that does not work in the same room. We moved the downstairs fan but now have no fan in the downstairs.
3. One evening we came home to a flying bat in the house. (We realize this is no fault of the owner, but thought we should let you know).
4. We discovered substantial mold in the washing machine and had to find a coin-operated machine to take care of our laundry needs
5. The upstairs bathroom bathtub, in the hallway, does not drain and no bathmats are causing a slippery floor.
6. The home did not come with trash bags
7. The windows did not have curtains or shades and with the construction work next door there was no bedroom privacy
We travel quite a bit and also have several short-term rentals ourselves and to be honest, the conditions we found in this VRBO are not what we would expect from a VRBO.
Thank you for your attention to the concerns above.
We had a great stay at one of our favorite places...GRB. This was our first time here and the space was perfect, the beach bikes amazing and the weather cooperated. We loved hanging out on the deck for dinner and the living room was comfortable to catch the Olympics. The kitchen was well stocked however we arrived to a couple of sheets of toilet paper in two of the bathrooms and no replacements. Not sure if the person before us is responsible or the property manager but we made sure to leave some for the next group!!! We thought there was a hot tub as the listing mentioned but probably was there at one point bu not now. All and all a great week!
Weâve stayed around this area in Maine almost a dozen times in the last 10 years and this house did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for our family of five and very impressed with how quiet and cozy it felt. Iâm always the early riser but had no worries about waking anyone up with me. Lots of room for everyone and so many areas to kick back, inside and out. The garage had plenty of bikes and beach equipment and a 10 min walk to the beach was enjoyed by all of us.
The location is close to everything and amazed at how quiet it was in the neighborhood. We ended up having breakfast at home every day, but the kitchen was well equipped, with modern and high end appliances. The house would be fun and roomy enough for a party double our size, maybe even more.
We loved our stay and hope to make it back for another week in the future.
Our family of 9 enjoyed everything about our week at GRB! This is our 2nd summer renting this property, well stocked beautiful kitchen, comfy beds, lots of space to hang out, short walk to the beach, bikes, large deck!! Thanks for sharing your beach house:)

Beautiful house, responsive owner & manager.
My family had plenty of room to spread out. We loved the deck & screened in porch. We all enjoyed the bikes, made traveling to the beach easier. We enjoyed the ping pong table as well
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed from cookware, outdoor grill, large table for family meals and even bikes and equipment for fun. Our property manager checked in with us to be sure we all was going well.
My wife, dogs and two adult children loved the house and location.
We had a great week and would certainly stay here again.
Great house for a family if 4 with pets.
Layout is great for groups and families. Lots of space both indoors and out. Dog friendly which is a huge plus! Kitchen and carpets could use a refresh, but the newly renovated upstairs bathrooms were lovely. Would recommend getting a GRB pass if youâre staying for a week. Itâs a bit of a walk with small children and beach gear.
3 generations were very comfortable - plenty of space indoors & out. We enjoyed sitting out on the back deck. Plenty of dishes & cookware - could use a bit more space in the kitchen & new appliances would be nice too!
Large, lovely house in a great neighborhood in Goose Rocks
This house is set back on a large, beautifully landscaped property in a newer part of Goose Rocks which is very nice. It is an oasis of calm with no through traffic. Our interactions with our hosts were great. They provided quick and detailed answers to our various questions. Their home is spacious with many sitting and dining areas. There is a porch and a very nice deck with a BBQ. The two queen bedrooms that we occupied were large and each had a bathroom with two sinks and a large vanity. The beds were particularly comfortable. There are beach chairs, a beach umbrella, quite a few bicycles, a ping pong table, and other items for the use of the guests.
We hope to be able to return!
The house had everything we needed : fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room, bedrooms and bathrooms. There were even bikes, games an beach chairs for us all.
Being a short distance from the beach was great. We were able to come and go by foot, bike or car. We also weren't far from the general store and a short ride to Cape Porpoise.
I noticed and appreciated all the improvement made to the the house. My family loved staying here!
I hesitate to write this and make increase demand but Shri and Eric have an awesome home. Close enough to walk to the beach and with bikes and buggyâs to haul all the gear you need. House is spacious and clean, washer and dryer are a huge plus (esp for our family with 3 kids). Rainy days okay ping pong, foosball or board games. We loved our stay!
The owners were very accommodating and the house was roomy and comfortable loved the short bike ride to goose rocks beach on one of the many beach cruisers available at the house.
Goose rocks is one of our favorite places!
This property was perfect for our family. The kitchen was well equipped, eating space big enough for everyone, and just right sleeping accommodations. We enjoyed walking and biking to the beach! It isn't far from Cape Porpoise and Dock Square where we often ate and shopped.
We had a wonderful week at Goose Rocks Beach. The house was on a beautiful lot, had plenty of room for our group of five adults, and was just a short walk to the beach. The newly remodeled bathrooms were very nice! The owners were helpful and responsive.
Our family has been visiting the southern coast of Maine for over thirty years. When we visited Goose Rocks Beach we fell in love with the community and the beautiful beach! We wanted a vacation home that gave us the best of both worlds Maine has to offer: Forest and Beach! Nestled back about 100 yards from the beach, there is quiet, privacy, and nature abounding. Yet a quick stroll to the beach with the kids and their boogie boards and beach games, we feel so safe letting our children play in the calm waters of this beach! If you have older children who love surfing it is just a 10 minute drive in either direction to find awesome waves surfed by people around the world! Want a drink and great food? There are many local resturaunts in the area or a short drive away. Get away from the hustle and bustle and rest up on the deck, BBQ, sip wine at night on the balcony looking at the pines and birch trees or sip coffee in the morning with a book on the private enclosed porch. Play games we have inside with the kids or play volleyball and horseshoes in the private yet spacious front yard. Go for a run or a bike ride to the beach or drive the coast enjoying the foliage, spend Thanksgiving holidays with your family, or enjoy the Christmas Holiday prelude a short drive into the famous fishing town of Dock Square with spectacular resturaunts and boutique shops while you sip hot coffee or chocolate and enjoy the holiday events!
Quiet and private. Short walk to the beautiful Goose Rocks Beach! Wonderful community setting. Great place to celebrate holidays with family with a quaint New England flair!
Protected from the open ocean by small islands that are beautiful to look at, Goose Rocks Beach waters are warmer and calmer than most in Maine. Great for kids to play safely on the beach, ride bikes, paddle board and kayak. Walk to Timber Islamd during low tide. Fish right from the beach!
