We loved our stay. The cleanliness and amenities, not to mention the location were all terrific for a vacation at the beach, especially with a few little ones running around. We had a terrific time and hope to come back next year! Thanks for a wonderful week at GRB!
The house was great for us to host our 3 adult kids at various times during our 2 week vacation. The screened-in porch was a work space, dinner location, and host of our evening card game. Goose Rocks beach was an easy 2/3 mile walk and the houseâs red wagon made it an easy trek.
Jasonâs place was fantastic! The location was great, and unlike some cottages in the area it has a washer and dryer, and dishwasher. Jason was responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!
This is a sweet and comfy house with a true Maine essence. Itâs in an excellent location - nice walk to the beach, (about 4/10ths mile.) The neighborhood is charming and perfect for bicycles so next time we visit, we will get bikes.
Jason and Debbie have created a very efficient system with clear and kind communication. Loved it!
We enjoyed our beach vacation at Jason's Goose Rocks Beach house and are very interested to come back. The house is very nice with many updates. Jason was very responsive.
There are a few things we thing other guests would like to know especially those with little kids.
- There are lots of fun indoor toys for kids ages ~5 and under. Also lots of stuffies including a humungous teddy bear!
- The house is about 1/2 mile from the beach. 10-15 min walk (depending on whose walking) or 3-5 min bike. The road to the beach is very quiet and flat. It was awesome for our 5 yrd daughter who is just learning to pedal bike to practice and get confident.
- House is very close to GRBA Community House which offers weekly memberships, camps/childcare and tennis lessons, kids move night etc. We didn't do this but would consider in future.
- There was a very helpful large and sturdy beach cart.
- There were a limited number of plates, bowls utensils. Enough for two people but not for a family with little kids. We bought paper ones for the week.
- There is no lobster pot but Wolff's lobster about 1 mile away is awesome and will cook'em for you or sell picked meat.
- There is cornhole and bocce to play in the yard!
This was our second stay at Jason's place and it is phenomenal. The place is fantastic, the location is perfect, and Jason is communicative and affable. Will return next summer for sure!
The beach is a half mile away. So many many steps to the beach is more accurate.
The house is cute and fairly well equipped. Plenty of room for the six of us.
Outdoor shower was disconnected until our last day which was disappointing.
As advertised, the house was within walking distance to the beach- even for our grandkids. Who, btw, weâre thrilled with the toys and stuffed animals at the house. The outdoor shower was a wonderful feature enjoyed by all. Much time was spent in the screened in porch and the large back yard was perfect for throwing a frisbee. Thank you!
My family has been vacationing at Goose Rocks beach for over 100 years. A special tradition that keeps pulling us back every year with each new generation. This cottage was perfect - clean, quiet, and only a short bike ride to the beach. Thank you for hosting us this year!
The property was fine, could use some updating. Fans would not work until I took it apart and cleaned it, AC filters were black, ( 2 of us with Asthma) cleaned those also. Being in Maine, we assumed there may be a lobster pot and some tools, we assumed wrong, that was disappointing, so we went out for Lobster. For $50 or so, may be a good addition to the pots and pans cabinet. Jasonâs a great guy, good communication.
We had a wonderful time at this GRB home! A very comfortable home, with everything we needed and a terrific location. Jason was easy to contact and it all added up to a great trip! Would definitely come back!
This was a great house with a great location! The owners were easy to communicate with and replied quickly. The home is very clean with whimsical decor. We loved eating breakfast in the screened-in porch and grilling out for dinner.
Overall, we had a very nice stay. The community is great, the house was nice, and its location provided privacy and afforded us easy access to the beach. Two issues - the property could have been cleaner when we got there and there was a problem with the plumbing. After we arrived the owner told us that recent heavy rains had made the septic system sluggish and asked us to stagger the use of water. We did this, but still experienced some backup of the toilet, tub and sink in the first floor bathroom. Although something of a nuisance, we were able to work around this and enjoyed our stay.
Hi, We are Deb (allergic to photos), Jason and Samantha. We have traveled extensively in Central America, Europe and the Middle East. We value family and friends, working hard and playing hard, and are always looking to build relationships with interesting people. We are good friends with our neighbors at home and on vacation!
When we set out to find a 'beach house in the woods' our realtor chuckled. However that is what we have found and would like to share with you. The house is comfortable, gets a nice breeze, is private and there is nothing better than listening to the tide from your bed at night.
We fell in the love with the house and property when we first laid eyes on it. Since then we have loved spending time there during all 4 seasons. Fall colors in Maine are gorgeous and the weather is great for bike riding or jogging. Surfers like Jason also have a great time this season. Winter is serene and cozy and we love bundling up and walking on the beach when it's quiet. The Christmas decorations and activities in the village of Kennebunkport are incredible. In spring, we enjoy spending time outside, grilling and eating on the porch, and in summer, well, summer is what it is alllllll about.
Walking distance to the beach. As one of the older houses on the street, it is on a prime parcel with a fabulous mature apple tree in the yard. You are invited to pick your own apples in late summer and fall! There is a shed to keep bikes and gear out of the rain. We have a beach cart for guests to use to and from the beach. There is a gas grill on the back porch and lawn games (corn-toss and bacci) to play while the burgers get done. If the bugs start to bug you there is a screened in porch that still counts as outdoor time!
