This is really a special place with a lot of charm and âsoulâ. The outdoor area offers many shaded places to sit, lounge and âtuck awayâ.. Jeff & Laura took great care to make sure the home is stocked with plenty of towels, shampoo, toilet paper etc.. The bedrooms are cozy & the beds comfortable. For those sensitive to morning sunlight - bring an eye mask as two of the bedrooms have light weight curtains. Also - know that the upstairs bedroom can only be accessed via separate entrance outdoors. If youâre traveling with young kids, you will want them to double up in the main house (as we did). Other tips: make sure to sit in the hammocks at dusk and enjoy the view of the mountains! The upstairs bedroom is a great space to write in... there is a small desk & itâs very peaceful (& makes for a great hide away if you have young kids ;) There is an office space in the house as well that my husband enjoyed working out of.. Jeff & Laura were very easy to communicate with..
Great accommodating owners and property managers. This is a 1930âs compound dedicated to staying true to itâs roots. We we a group of 5 couples staying for our thanksgiving holiday. The house has a delightful funk to it. I mean funk in a positive way. It fits like your favorite pair of jeans. We were all comfortable in great beds. It is not 5 star elegant. Weâve stayed in 5 star places. This will be our first choice when we return to Palm Springs.
I wanted to something about the owner. He contacted us often, no too often. He was not checking on his property. He was checking to see if we were having a good time and to see if his property had everything we needed. These are very nice people!
Casa Madrina was the perfect house for our holiday getaway with friends. description accurate. Everyone had a private suite that was comfortable and well appointed-so welcoming with the vintage feeling. Clean, organized, charming. The cooler weather kept us inside a couple days a bit so we took to reading, conversation and playing records by the fire in the living room. It was so pleasant we didn't want to go out. Great lighting. We enjoyed a couple group meals prepared in the open plan kitchen. The fruit trees provided us with a special treat. We picked and squeezed our own tangerine and grapefruit juice. Great memories.

This husband/ wife (photographer / landscape designer) team wanted an escape from Los Angeles that felt like a simple cottage but offered an opportunity to to recreate the feeling of old Palm Springs with modern Mexican / Mediterranean flourishes-a Frieda Kahlo meets Luis Barragan private retreat. Enjoying the outdoors and welcoming friends to Palm Springs opened a new chapter of romance!
The mountain views are heavenly. And there was room to create gardens! the vibe is like going back in time to when Palm Springs was filled with Spanish Revival architecture like this home. A marvelous escape from daily drudge. Large pool, diving board, separate casita, beautiful redone tiled bathrooms, new appliances, French doors, walled and gated for privacy! Outdoor lounging areas surrounded in your private oasis.
Only 2 hours from Los Angeles or San Diego, this enchanting home offers beauty, privacy, good taste and is unpretentious. It is close to downtown. No phone, no tv -just a Crowley record player with a mix of old albums (of course we have high-speed internet throughout - we're not crazy! and a stereo system to connect your iPhone to). Plenty of parking, complete privacy among the four suites, great outdoor spaces to relax in sun or shade surrounded by gardens and birdsong (fire pit, pool area, fountains, 1956 Lincraft aluminum trailer bar (!) and more! Beautiful, tasteful colors and scents. Romantic and relaxed. It's an oasis from your real world. Close to shops, tennis, golf, hiking, bars and great food.
