I booked this property through the app and the first red flag was when the host text me outside of the app requesting a hundred dollar deposit and proposing that I pay it outside of the app, which I wouldn't do. So they claim they waived the fee. Arriving at the property I wasn't able to gain access to the unit. The host claimed the cleaners put the key up and they were trying to contact them to see where it was located. Keep in mind they wouldn't answer they only text.i waited at least two hours on someone to let me in the unit but there was a no show. I waited in the lobby and something told me to go to the actual unit to see if the door was open, well to my surprise it was. The unit was uncleaned and it appeared someone was currently living there. It also looked nothing like what was advertised it was a totally different unit I was so out done and disappointed considering I was visiting from out of town. Vrbo refunded me my money but still I had to find somewhere else to stay last minute. I would not recommend renting with this host
The day of check-in, the host wasn't very responsive. I gave a one hour range when we a available which was hours after the 3 pm check in time listed. I was told I would receive check in information on the morning of check in. I had to send multiple messages and wait hours for a response. I told the host we may arrive a little bit early so they could be ready for us and was told the key would be in a mailbox. When we arrived at the apartment building, a lot of the mailboxes were broken into and there was no one there and no key in a mailbox. My husband went to check to see if the key was perhaps left at the unit but I wasn't. The floor the unit was on smelled like animal urine and had a sign posted that tenents would be fined for not there animals outside. The host said their assistant would show up but after over an hour in a parking garage in the middle of the night with our family, we decided to leave and find other accommodations for our entire stay. I told the host this was not okay and I would be contacting VRBO. I contacted and was told they would work on getting my booking cancelled and refunded. I then received another message from the host 2 1/2 hours after their assistant was supposed to arrive that key was in the mailbox and we could pick it up in the morning. I didn't even respond to that message. I hope VRBO makes this right. Don't book the listing if you can't wait for the host or their assistant to show whenever they feel like it.
