Summary:
Set above the Atlantic with uninterrupted ocean views and direct access to the rocky shoreline below, this elegant Middletown home offers a rare kind of coastal escape made for staying a while. Nearly every room is framed by the sea, from the glass-wrapped living area to the upstairs balcony and sunlit breakfast nook. Mornings begin on the deck in Adirondack chairs with nothing but wind and waves. Inside, the layout is open yet private, designed for extended time away.
The Space:
The kitchen is fitted with granite counters, stainless appliances, and a wine fridge, opening to a windowed dining nook and relaxed living space that draws the outdoors in. The main-level queen bedroom includes a private ensuite, generous walk-in closet, a rolltop desk for a dedicated workspace, and walk-out access to the oceanfront deck. A laundry room and powder bath complete the floor.
Upstairs, two additional queen bedrooms share a full bath. A second lounge leads to a balcony that looks out over the shoreline and horizon. A built-in library along the stairwell holds a curated collection of books for quieter days indoors. Cornhole and board games are also available for guest use.
Just outside, the spacious oceanfront deck offers multiple places to gather and take in the views. A shaded outdoor dining table sits beside lounge chairs and high-top seating, all set against the backdrop of crashing waves and open sky. The grill is ready for fresh seafood or local farmstand fare, and a private lawn leads directly to the rocky coast for tide watching or simply sitting still.
This stretch of Middletown places you close to both 1st and 2nd Beaches, with much more to explore nearby. The Norman Bird Sanctuary and Sachuest Point offer scenic hiking through salt marsh and along dramatic coastal bluffs. At Newport Vineyards, enjoy wine flights, weekend music, and farm-to-table fare. Sweet Berry Farm offers lunch in the orchard and fresh produce to bring home. Newportâs harborfront shops, dining, and historic mansions are just a short drive away.
