Excellent resort and location; room a little dated
The room was great taking into account the price. The resort area was good including the tennis/pickleball courts, pool, and docks on the bay. The hot tub was in bad shape; mainly needing replacement of the jets. The proximity to the gulf was very convenient (2-minute walk maybe). The rinse-off area coming back from the beach was excellent. The beach area was not crowded and a nice place for families and couples. There is very little traffic on the road on this side of Gulf Shores making running along the road enjoyable as well as easy to cross over to the gulf.
The location was nice, we were there during July 4th weekend so it was packed. The unit is very dated and had some issues like internet not working properly, vent that was noisy etc. there is also an additional parking fee. The pool was nice and crowded as expected during a holiday weekend, with not a lot of shade or seats available.
Gulf Shores Surf and Racquet Club is a very nice property. It's away from the congestion of downtown and has ample parking. The private access to the beach across the street is wonderful. Hopefully the unit we stayed in will update the couch and chair which were not comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
Our family has enjoyed Gulf Shores for over 20 years. Itâs one of our favorite vacation destinations! The food, fishing, boating and fun is ALWAYS amazing!
The stay was nice with great weather. The condo is perfect for 2 but I wouldnât recommend any more than that unless with really young children. Of course,a little updating of furniture would be nice but it met our needs. Definitely take your own pillow though. Pillows are flat. The bed ok and the toilet seat a little wobbly. Lastly the dryer vent was a bit tricky and wanted to fall out while drying.
Overall a good stay with a short walk to the beach The road wasnât hard to cross. I would recommend a wagon to haul your things to the beach though.
We were awakened every morning with non stop hammering and drilling. The unit next door is being remodeled. This went on every day from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Not very relaxing!
We were pleased with the unit & the location. I did try to reach out to the managing folks about the foldaway couch bed because the mattress was so thin that the metal frame was jabbing my kids.. they kept referring me to the front desk but that line stayed busy :( Parking is $25 for each vehicle. We made due with the couch but it's old/needs replaced**. Our bed was new and comfy. And AC was cool. Big fridge and new washer/dryer was so nice. Pool area was nice & beach access was easy. Would stay again!!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Dated, old and tired
Pros: Location is 3 miles past the main hub of Gulf Shores, not as many parties and loud guests.
Nice large kitchen and everything you need to cook. (bring your own spices/cooking spray for pans, soap [dish/dishwasher/hand])we got a sponge and two kitchen towels too. Two sets of silverware, nice.
Pool is unheated, but clean. Hot tub works (but not the bubbles, they just ride up the side.)
Fantastic view of the ocean off the balcony, a table and 4 chairs to sit on, and one lounge chair there as well. Great for sunrise sitting with your coffee. Nice pier on the Little Lagoon side, where you can watch the awesome sunsets.
Apartment size washer and dryer (but the dryer is rusted inside, and pieces come off on your clothes.)
The pool area was cleaned daily, and the grounds were clean. There is beach access across the street and they have an outside shower to wash your feet off when you get back.
Cons: These are the facts about the room. You can hear neighbors above and beside you. All their comings and goings (if you get my drift). You get to hear them flush the toilets regularly, and smell their cigarette smoke while trying to enjoy the balcony.
The place is not updated in any way. Bathroom has plastic sink, toilet seat, which doesn't fit, and the toilet makes a horrible noise when flushing. The sofa bed is OLD and an adult can't sleep on. When I told the management company they said: "sofa beds are not meant for adults". Really? I have several for adult guests, and they are comfortable. The place is very dated, dinged up and not what the photos look like.
The refrigerator is so old, they give you **Refrigerator Tips** which says: a large quantity of warm groceries placed in the empty refrigerator takes approximately 12 hours to adequately cool. Cool your perishable items first.
The plastic blinds and curtain do nothing to stop any light from coming in the bedroom, and the place is lit up very brightly at night. The screen is also broken on the window. It was very disappointing, and the management company just said they will tell the owner. I will never trust or use Brett Robinson for another vacation rental.
We have stayed at golf & raquet club before not this unit but love how close the beach is and the patio looking out to the ocean. This unit has everything you need all the essentials. I brought laundry soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels toilet paper and extra trash bags. They do provide enough for a weekend stay but for a week you will want to bring extra. The unit is close to restaurants, activities, grocery stores and Walmart. Short walk across parking lot and you are in the sand. Only complaints would be the sliding door to the patio either needs replaced or fixed itâs very hard to open and close and when you flush the toilet you have to hold the handle down until it flushes all the way. I would highly recommend staying here it was peaceful and relaxing being at the beach for a week spending time with my family.
Weâve stayed at this location several times before and have always been pleased. This room tho is not the best. No wash rags, no extra blankets, bed is horribly uncomfortable and had to hear some god awful noise in the exhaust fan the entire time we stayed. It was a constant pecking noise coming from the fan even with it turned off. Needless to say I was ready to head home after our get away weekend
