Come enjoy the stunning views at Pine View Lodge from the extra downstairs sitting room or the beautiful back porch with multiple outdoor sitting areas. It is your perfect family vacation. Also with a portable A/C unit and fans in every room to keep you cool this summer. You're sure to enjoy this partial A-frame home. Featuring a spiral staircase to the second-floor bedrooms and loft, or "4th bedroom".
Located on a cul-de-sac just 10 minutes South of Flagstaff in the quiet secluded Kachina Village. An ideal base for trips to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff, & more. Close to a newer family park, wetlands, baseball fields, and lots of outdoor adventures.
Pine View Lodge was well maintained and cozy. They had window AC units upstairs and we were always very comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped and had everything we needed. The wrap around porch was a great place to hang out. It's in a neighborhood and not remote but very close to the Pumphouse Wash, which is a beautiful trail. Pet friendly with dog dishes and a fenced side yard.
Overall the location of the property was very nice. The main floors and bathrooms did not appear to have been cleaned recently. There were sticky spots on the floors and hair on the bathroom floors as well as in the toilets.
The master bed is broken and very uncomfortable, it was hard to sleep in.
Convenient and forested neighborhood. Great views from the backyard deck. Plenty of space inside to relax, play games, and sleep. We would stay here again!
The house backs up to a pine forest. My daughter, dogs, and I really enjoyed hanging out on the back patio listening to the wind in the pine trees. The house was clean and had plenty of pots, pans, and utensils so I could easily make dinners. There were a few things I had questions about, and the owner responded promptly.
We loved this cabin and will definitely be back. Perfect for couples with kids. The kitchen was stocked..we cooked every meal and avoided the crowds in flagstaff. Our favorite was enjoying wine on the patio while our dog watched all the birds and squirrels. So fun! Also, hiking trails are close!
We stayed in this home with two other families. It was a fantastic house that was big enough for all of us to enjoy ourselves together and also slip away if we needed some private time. The home is much bigger than it seemed in the picture and it backs up right to the forest which was gorgeous. We were concerned because a previous renter had complained about pots and pans, but there was an abundance. We did have an issues with the kitchen drain backing up and the owners of the rental were very quick to respond and sent someone out very quickly. The owners also provide a service for plowing the driveway and cleaning off the walkway if requested which was a nice feature since it snowed a lot.
The home is close to the Family Dollar store and the gas station just down the road. It was probably only 10 minutes from Flagstaff itself. The main roads up to the house can be pretty steep and slippery if there is snow, but they were pretty well maintained and plowed. We did need to use our 4WD a few times when the roads were slick and I noticed a few front wheel drive vehicles that were stuck.
There is a really cute little add-on sitting room which is a great addition and where we spent a lot of our time. It is hard to maintain an even temperature in that space though so there was a silent battle going on between members of the family of turning the heat up and then down again. The heat definitely rises so you need to keep the temperature lower upstairs than you would think. We just brought some extra throw blankets and that really helped when sitting in that room. The house was decorated for Christmas which was really sweet.
There were tons of games and toys for the kids and even sleds in the garage which was awesome. We lugged ours all the way up there and we didn't even need to. The fireplace was great and we used it a lot. There were also a lot of spices which was a surprise to us and much appreciated.
I would highly recommend this house. We had a fantastic time and some members of the family never even left because they didn't feel the need to. :). We hope to come back sometime and enjoy a different season here like summer or fall.

Disappointed
Not as described. Furniture stained, carpet stained, patio dirty with broken furniture. Towels with holes, pillows need replacing. Overall, the property just needs a refresh.
The layout of the house was what we needed our family gathering. 8 people fit comfortably in the house, and the inside-outside design of the house was lovely (we spent a lot of time on the deck!). The owners left clear, easy-to-follow instructions for checking in. It was very clean when we arrived.
But it is clear this is a property purchased by managers for income, and that income doesn't go back into the house. Many lightbulbs were burned out. There were mice in the house (not completely unexpected, given the wooded location, but still a surprise inside a fully finished house - there didn't seem to be any sort of pest management on the property). Some patio chairs are broken, and the patio umbrella doesn't open. Multiple lamps in the house had broken switches, and multiple fans and air conditioning units did not work (and we needed them - it was 90 degrees the weekend we stayed!). The ignition button on the grill doesn't work, so you need to buy a lighter to start a flame. If you run out of propane in the grill, you are responsible for going into town to get a full tank; ditto for purchasing fans - this was particularly surprising, given that the last thing we want to do when staying in a vacation home with family we haven't seen for two years is run errands on behalf of the people we're renting from. It seems the owners of the house are simply that - owners, not hands-on managers. If they invested a little more into the upkeep of the house, it would be a real gem.
There's one major issue that can't be fixed by a handyman, and that's the four dogs living across the street. They barked ALL. the. time. It was constant, even through the night, so if you're a light sleeper and/or considering renting the property in the warmer months (when the windows will be open), be aware that you'll have that soundtrack playing in the background.
In all, this was fine. Not bad, not great - just fine. If you're looking for a rental that wows, this isn't really it. But if you just need a place to crash for a few nights, this will suffice.
The perfect house for family with teens! The check in process was very easy and having garage access was very nice. The wrap around deck was a perfect place to relax as you gaze into the pine forest. Plenty of windows to capture the beautiful nature surrounding you. The kitchen was nice and open and perfect for hanging out with the fam while cooking. Plenty of seating inside and out.
Until I stayed at the cabin it was hard to tell what the layout was like exactly but this cabin is a huge surprise upon arrival. The open downstairs area is very spacious with three eating areas (two tables and a counter). There's a mudroom/laundry/foyer as you enter from the garage. There's a big powder room with pantry. There's a fireside sitting area, the family area and then a reading area with a spectacular forest view. The master is spacious with a huge bathroom. Then upstairs there are two super large bedrooms and a enormous loft area. There is so much space and all the windows are perfectly setup so you don't see the neighbors and just see massively tall Ponderosa Pines. Pretty amazing place and you can see why the adjacent cabins are all full-time residents given how close you are to nature's finest.
We wanted to get away from it all and have good access for day trips to the parks, hiking, Sedona, and the rest of Northern Arizona. While only 10 minutes outside of Flagstaff, you feel like a world away in this Kachina Village mountain community. The house has all you will need except food, so hit the grocery store on the way or be surprised by the good restaurants in Flagstaff. Enjoy!
We had an amazing time at this property. The pictures don't do it justice. Great interior and the property is gorgeous. No homes directly behind the property, so it gives it a great isolated feel. Lots of snow during our stay and the backyard proved to be a great sledding spot. Kachina Village is a great location...close to Flagstaff, but you feel like you're truly in the woods. We didn't really need anything during our stay, but I could tell by the emails from Katannya that any issues would've been resolved quickly. Will definitely stay here again!
This cabin had a great ambience. The owners have everything you need for a family getaway: firewood, sleds for snowy days, washer/dryer, extra towels, new cookware, great decor.
Such an amazing home in an amazing location! Our kids had so much fun sledding behind the house! Close to downtown flagstaff! Canât wait to go back!!
