We love the home feel. The small farm, the running water sound by the creek, and also the quiet of busy city life. I recommend this to anyone but families with kids would live this. We will be back with our family.
My family had a lovely time at this property last week. It was just as described an old farmhouse that clearly was loved and loved in by a family for many years. The moment we arrived we felt at home and I half expected my grandmother, who has sadly passed, to come out saying she had supper ready for us on the stove. The owners were so kind showing us around and letting us feed their goats and play with their dogs. I wish we could have stayed longer but rest assured itâs not our last visit. Nothing against the other vacation rentals in the area but this place had soul and heart and was exactly what I needed.
Quiet, beautiful land. Lovely stream with (optional) bridge. Would recommend going out around 10 pm- on the bridge under the tree canopy. Look up! Amazing View.
This is a nice country home very near Blue Ridge. Also close to some hiking. The hosts are very nice and accomodating. There is a side room which is great for reading. The babbling creek nearby is smooth sounding. We certainly recommendif you are in the Blue Ridge
This was such a unique experience. The house is comfortable and lets you experience generations of the host family. Although the farmhouse doesnât have all the modern amenities that most rental properties do, the charm and quaintness of the property is really worth it. It has everything you might need to simply enjoy your vacation. The property itself is very nice, the location is exceptional and close to downtown, restaurants, hiking, and the lake. Our kids enjoyed feeding the goats in the property and playing in the stream. The hosts were wonderful.
Wonderful, considerate, and highly communicative hosts. A gem of a place with all of the amenities you could ever hope for. A beautiful farmhouse! Highly recommend
It was a wonderful stay at a storied property with a gracious host. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and they have done a wonderful job to share their family's history with their guests.
We were very impressed with our stay! Cathy went the extra mile to make our stay personalized and special. The home was very warm and inviting...like staying with family.
We were able to accomplish our objectives while at the farmhouse. The convenience of the location to what we were in Blue Ridge for made our trip successful. We were able to bring our dog with us which we prefer to do.
We had such a nice time in this place. The home is lovely, clean, well-stocked and in such a beautiful setting. We loved how it seemed away from everything, yet so close to town. Cathy, our host, was the most responsive and kind host we have ever had. Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of us, especially with traveling on a holiday weekend.
My mom loved the "granny chic" cabin and all of the rich history of the family. The host was very nice, and it was easy to communicate with her. It was warm and inviting.
The bathroom fixtures were old, but clean. We didn't mind them being old. However, it is a very dusty cabin. It has lots of cute little knick knacks, but a thorough dusting of them is needed. Several of the extra blankets smelled "soured" and we could not use them. However, I would have given 4 stars rather than 3 if it were not for the difficulty getting into the cabin for my mother (age 80) and me (age 60). The steps were very difficult foR mom, and I had trouble getting things in and out. I should have checked accessibility before I booked, but I didnât. Thatâs on me, but I wonât make that mistake again.
We had a quiet, lovely stay. The house is nostalgic, charming, comfortable, and peaceful. Owners are welcoming and have dogs my daughter had a great time with. Magical gazebo near the confluence of two creeks. Cathy provides an abundance of linens, blankets, kitchen items galore, candles, even a tape/cd player for us 80s kids. We took our elderly dog with us and the house worked well for him. Thereâs a grassy incline up to the house for humans or animals who have trouble with stairs. We had a few fires in the fire pit off the back porch (all firewood and kindling provided in abundance!) and grilled out (again, all charcoal, newspapers provided). The house is far off the road but you can still see and hear cars, just FYI (didnât bother me but I grew up in the city).
Seemed like we got peak leaf season. We took the train to McCaysville on the four hour ride. I highly recommend for adults wanting a slow (10 mph) look at the vivid leaves and to get some local history (but my 4 year old daughter found it boring). McCaysville was fun as was Horseshoe Bend Park. Overall a refreshing and relaxing mini vacation.
It was great to experience country living, yet with modern conveniences. The soothing sounds of the creek made a perfect getaway. Close to everything in Blue Ridge.
We had a wonderful multigenerational Fall getaway and loved the â welcome homeâ cozy farmhouse feel with this property. The hosts were so kind to give us a tour of the highlights of the property. The close proximity to local attractions was helpful with the toddlerâs schedule and needs.
This place is amazing, Cathy did a great job of keeping her family home in tack with out updating it to much, my wife and I really enjoyed our weekend and we will book a stay here if we ever go to Blue Ridge again.
House is absolutely beautiful. Perfect floor plan with large rooms. All amenities available. Surrounding grounds interesting and peaceful.
Fun things to do in Blue Ridge.
Host lives next door and is extremely friendly and accommodating.
