We had an amazing time. Exactly what we where looking for. A nice relaxing mountain getaway but still close to town.
Thank you for everything! Hope to be back again!
The Campbell Farm House was like our home away from home
We loved how you had the feel of the past blended in with modern day.. The farm house has an interesting history and had everything we could want. We loved the screened in porch and the feeling that we were by ourselves out in the country even though there were houses and people near by. It is a quaint place and we enjoyed our stay.
Campbell farm is a very clean comfortable place to stay in Franklin. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our only issue was that in the summer time the very beautiful trees around the house prevent there being a view of the mountains from the house. The farm is located in the beautiful Iola Valley which provides plenty of mountain vistas around the farm! We would return if we have the opportunity!
Quiet, restful and beautiful, this home has everything anyone could want. The kitchen is fully appointed to cook anything including bread or cookies, there was even a flour sifter, rolling pin and baking sheets, plus a grill. There are clear instructions for everything. Short stay or long one, you could not find a better place. The hosts were beyond gracious, there was even a small pitcher of fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. We truly hope to stay here again.
The house was clean and a good value but expected more. There was not a tv in the Main bedroom which we are used to seeing and would have been helpful since the living room furniture was not particularly cozy or relaxing. I realized there was no hot tub but did not realize there was just a stand-up shower in the bathroom and a very small one.
The farmhouse is better than the photos! Lots of character and history. Very comfortable and well-equipped. Little farm the house is on is located in picturesque valley surrounded by mountains. Good hiking, scenic drives, lovely waterfalls in the area.
The stay at Jim and Pam's property was great! They welcomed us to the place even though we got there at almost midnight which was very nice. The place itself was clean and exactly as the pictures showed
This home was perfect for our family over Thanksgiving. Our girls really enjoyed playing in the yard and the stream. Great location, close to everything, but still private. We absolutely loved spending time on the porch. Jim and Pam are wonderful hosts and they have put a lot of love and thought into their home. It was very clean and included everything we needed. We are so thankful for our relaxing week and look forward to coming back soon.
The Old Campbell Farm was a wonderful retreat for our family. The property was gorgeous and peaceful. Our kids enjoyed the stream and the porches. Everything was clean and we couldn't have asked for better hosts or a cozier cabin. Jim and Pam have done such a wonderful job!
Everything was perfect! I will be going back in a couple of months. The home was beautiful and had everything you could think of from Iced beer mugs to a Kuerig coffee maker. So relaxing and the mountains were gorgeous. The rockers on the shady porch were so nice! Jim and Pam were super nice and accomodating!
We had a great Christmas at the Campbell farmhouse. The kids loved the barns out back to explore and we enjoyed the quiet beauty of the area. The house was very neat and clean and the beds were comfortable. Our only disappointment was that the gas logs weren't working this time, but we would definitely stay here again! You've done an amazing job anticipating guest's needs. Thank you! Happy New Year!
This place was beautiful and amazing! The detail and love that went into renovating this home was just incredible! We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next year! Thank you so much for allowing us to make beautiful memories in your home!
The owners Jim and Pam are great people. The house is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. Yes I would rent again. Easy access to the house with great views. Rented this house to stay while trying to find a place to buy to relocate, hated to leave. :)
We enjoyed our stay at the Old Campbell Farm. The hosts were extremely hospitable and kind! This was a very peaceful property and family friendly. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Rogers.
This was a perfect rental. Excellent owners, impeccable property, exactly as presented. There was complete privacy but it was only a short drive to town. The yard was beautiful and perfect. As a birder, it was a real treat to see so many species.
We traveled from Massachusetts to Franklin, NC to attend the July gem show. Jim and Pam were wonderful hosts. Everything was clean and all of the comforts of home were provided, even some delicious heirloom tomatoesđWe will definitely stay again in May when we head back down.
We loved the Old Campbell Farm. Lots of history, felt right at home!

Owned and lovingly restored by Jim and Pam, lifelong residents of Franklin, The Old Campbell Farm is more than just a vacation rentalâit's a piece of living history. Jim's family has deep roots in the Iotla Valley, farming these lands since 1879. In 2011, Jim and Pam embarked on a journey to preserve and share the rich heritage of this historical farm. Your hosts are dedicated to ensuring your stay is as memorable as it is comfortable. They live nearby, and they love to meet new folks and provide the perfect home-away-from-home for the enjoyment of their guests! In fact, The Old Campbell Farm is the first of two historic properties Jim and Pam have preserved and have made available as vacation homes. The Dock Barnard Farm, a beautifully restored 1890's Folk Victorian home, is located less than a half-mile away. The properties complement one another and can make the perfect combination for larger-family vacations.
Jim personally knew Fannie Campbell Tallent, the most recent descendant of the Campbell Family to live at The Old Campbell Farm, so there always has been a sense of closeness to the 1884 farmstead. After the property left the Campbell family in the 1970's, and after a succession of owners, The Old Campbell Farm eventually fell into a sad state of disrepair. Jim and Pam were fortunate to purchase the property, adding the 4-acre tract to their farm where they specialize in growing Angus cattle and timber. The meadow at the Old Campbell Farm produces hay each year for their cattle herd. They especially love the large lawn, the beautiful hosta beds, listening to the burble of the creek from the rocking chairs on the screen porch, and watching for wildlife! But more importantly, they loved restoring and preserving The Old Campbell Farm, a truly wonderful historical treasure!!
Whether you stay for a weekend, a week, or a month, The Old Campbell Farm can be home base to explore everything from Dollywood in nearby Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. Go hiking in the Smokies, bicycle riding on marked trails and paved routes, motorcycle riding on challenging mountain roads, and strolling along the country lane that leads to the Farm. After dinner (or supper, as we say in the mountains) sit on the screened porch or take a walk in the meadow to catch the last light of day and perhaps a glimpse of a doe and her fawn.
