We really enjoyed our stay. Liked the openness of the kitchen/living room area. Plenty of space for our group. Hot tub was great and loved waking up to the view of the river!
Great host, house needs some work
We had a great stay in Waupaka this past weekend. Bonnie’s house is cozy and spacious and she is a good host. The house needs a little work done( master bathroom shower is outdated , the fireplace in the living room is under construction and a few little details). Other than that, the nature is beautiful, the hottub outside is clean and large. We all had a great time
A wonderful place and property. Beautiful and relaxing and the house has so much room, yet very cozy too. Bonnie was so attentive and helpful. We saw deer and chipmunks and the river view is stunning.
Untrue discreption of property
We found wet towels in washing machine ,piles of dirty sheets on floor, no hand soap in bath rooms, no paper towels, had to call owner to fine more toilet paper, dirty pan, and silverware.
Nothing complete in house, such as floors and mop board not completed , fireplace not completed or working, and many other in completed projects.
We talked to Bonnie about these issued, and she apologized, offer to return the cleaning fees. To this date no refund.
This was a sibling gathering and I was greatly embarrass of the condition of the house. This was my first renting from VRBO, how can I trust the reviews of VRBO after this?
Yes there was couple of minor issues when you arrived, like the extra toilet paper had not been put out for you (a case of TP was in the laundry room) and a couple bathrooms were low or out of soap, I’m sorry you had to buy a few household items. I didn’t realize they were low. For doing so and for you obviously disappointed with my beautiful home I refunded the cleaning fee in full. I feel, as did you, at the time we talked that that was far above and beyond what I needed to do for such minor inconvenience. As for there being dirty laundry, well that sometimes happens between renters. And I came and pick it all up the next day and took to the laundry mat as I was out of town the day you arrived. I feel you might be being a bit harsh in your review of my property. As you can see by other renters reviews. Finally the construction project... I’ve not listed the property as having a fireplace because it is not quite complete. We ended doing a complete first floor remodel over the winter last year (had started with only wanting new flooring lol) in doing so a few of the details did not get finished before the rental season began. The laundry room floor is the unfinished flooring that is being refer to and we didn’t finish it because we are going to knock down the wall between the laundry and the 1/2 bath to make it a full bath. The shower for that has already been purchased. We will do that this winter yet.
Maybe going forward a hotel would suit your group better. VRBO has been a pleasure to work with as a homeowner.
