This is an exceptional property. The home is spacious and well appointed with a spectacular view of Sunset Lake, one of the best lakes on the Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca. Mandy and Shaun were very helpful on communication. This rental exceeded our expectations on every level. We plan to stay again next summer.
Our family vacation included us (grandparents), our adult children and their spouses, and 5 young grandchildren. The house, waterfront, watercraft, fire pit, etc were wonderful. We had plenty of private space in the house and plenty of seating area in the kitchen and family room. We especially enjoyed the water view from the screened porch.Communication with the host was excellent. We also enjoyed multiple activities in the Waupaca area, literally minutes away. The county roads were perfect for my daily bike rides.Everyone in our group wants to return next year.
We loved the location - close to Waupaca and King. The cabin has a great layout with the open kitchen, large dining room and living room. The sunroom was nice to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Communication was excellent. Minor complaints would be poor quality toilet paper and liquid soap, and tubs need new caulk. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and recommend the property.
We had an absolutely incredible stay at this property! Everything was immaculately maintained and thoughtfully stockedâfrom the kitchen essentials to outdoor gear, it was clear the owners take great pride in the home. Every appliance worked perfectly. The pontoon boat was a major highlightâbig, clean, and really nice. It made exploring the lake and spending long, relaxing afternoons on the water effortless and fun.One of the most memorable parts was the crystal-clear water right off the dock. You could literally see the lake bottom 4 feet downâit felt like something out of the Caribbean or Hawaii!Couldnât recommend this place more.
Everything was perfect. Great views, super kid friendly. It was a huge plus to have two bedrooms (bunk room & 1Q) that were very much separate from the living space. We were able to put the kids down and enjoy our evening without waking the kids.
My cousins and I get together every year for a weekend and chose the White Pine Inn this year. It had a lot of room for everyone and the Waupaca Area is great. We do make your own pizzas on Saturday night and having two ovens was a huge help. Two things to note, there are quite a few cone coffee filters available in the cabin. I think everyone buys them ahead like we did, then leaves the rest in the pantry. I would recommend future groups check the pantry for them and go into town to buy if needed. Second note, we wanted to do some ice fishing and were ultimately able to, but it took some doing. There is an aerator a few cabins down for a cabin too lazy to bring their dock in each winter. This made the shore open for about 4' off shore at the White Pine Inn. We went to the lumber yard and bought a 2x10 to get us on the safe ice. Hopefully the DNR does something about these private aerators as they create unsafe ice conditions. I understand some lakes need aerators to keep from winter killing, but definitely not the Waupaca Chain of lakes. These small aerators at a dock are just because someone is wealthy and lazy.
Group of college friends in their 50s from the class of 1989/1990 Winona State University. Enjoyed having our own bedrooms and common area to share laughter, stories, and good times. Beautiful lake and house. Would be nice to have bath towels so guests donât need to lug wet towels home but overall a very roomy and reasonably priced place for the size. Nice owners, easy to communicate. .
This place accommodates 12 golfers quite easily. We even brought rods this year and caught a few fish right off the dock! Ample room for all the vehicles. Love the location!
The White Pine Inn is a beautiful property that worked great for our group of 8. The big screened in porch with a view of the lake is fabulous. The kitchen accommodated all of us doing our part at the same time to make meals. We rental the very nice pontoon boat also and had a very enjoyable cruise through the lakes. Having the fire pit was also a nice way to end each evening. Overall the area was fairly secluded and quiet (in September). Very enjoyable stay!
This house is an awesome place to relax with family. House is ADA with first floor primary suite. Location is amazing and house is spacious. The yard is well appreciated and dock is perfect. We feel lucky to be return visitors at this Sunset lake house. Owners Re responsive and accessible (we havenât needed anything !)
We are thankful to the owners for letting us use their outstanding home for our family reunion. The owner is very reasonable and easy to work with and the house is amazing. It is a very nice lake too. We'd recommend it!
House was perfect and fit all nine adults and 3 children. Grilled one meal on the weber, had campfire, and enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. All went well. Thank you.
We had a group of 10 gather for an annual get together at the lake and the property was great. Plenty of space for all and great spaces for gathering. Plenty of parking too!
We had a large group of golfers stay for a few days. The space we had was ample. The 3 seasons room was a great morning coffee hangout. Will probably book next year we loved it so much.
This is our second stay here and had a great time just like our first visit.
The lake home is perfect, warm, cozy, family-oriented and our hosts Mandy and Shaun are great to do business with.
Will book again next time we're in for Waupaca. Thank you!
Loved our stay! The house was great for our needs, well-stocked and convenient to the grocery store. The screened porch and pontoon boat were awesome. The lakes are great and wonderful for swimming. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We plan to repeat!
Beautiful, spacious house, crystal clear lake & lots of wildlife
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful house situated on lovely Sunset Lake with extended family! The Lake was so clear and calm! We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 kayaks, paddle board, maui mat and pontoon boat numerous times each day! Kayaking to Otter Lake was a highlight most days spotting tons of turtles sunning themselves on logs. Fishing was great too catching bass, bluegill and northern pike. The house was very clean and well maintained! Fires in the fireplace on cooler days, hours spent on the beautiful screened in porch playing games, dinners made in the well stocked kitchen and comfy beds to rest in! Fun, whimsical lighting throughout the house and a whole house speaker system were nice additions! We had 8 adults and 3 teens and everyone had plenty of room. The twin beds were a bit short and small for our tall teens but they still slept well. The house is close to a neighbor on the right side of the house but thankfully they were quiet & it wasn't an issue. Mandy and Shaun were very responsive and easy to work with! We would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to get away and relax! Thank you Mandy and Shaun for sharing your beautiful home with us!
I had wonderful memories growing up renting cottages on the Chain with my family. My parents moved to the Chain when I was in college, and I waited tables at Clear Water Harbor for three summers. The area became a second home to me. With a family of our own now, we wanted our own kids to have the same kind of memories. We own two cottages on the Chain, and we hope you create lifelong memories with your own families.
