Cette adorable unité d'un duplex Island Interior se trouve à quelques pas d'un accès à la plage, d'un parc local, de 2 bars, d'une arcade et d'un dépanneur! Déployez vos ailes et profitez de toutes les commodités offertes par ce pittoresque cottage!

Le Covey Cottage, situé au 1005 - A 1st Street à Surf City, en Caroline du Nord, propose un hébergement pour 9 personnes avec un lit double, des lits jumeaux / gigogne, un lit superposé Pyramid et un canapé-lit Queen Sleeper.

Oreillers, tartinades et couvertures sont fournis. Les draps ne sont pas fournis, mais sont disponibles à la location.

We had an awesome stay. Everything was picture perfect

We had a issue with the bathtub and it was fixed in a timely manner. Very quiet area even with a night club across the street and a bar behind us.

It's super clean, accommodating, and the location is KEY!!! Mini mart next door, arcade/bar across the street, another bar with awesome live music that you can listen to in the backyard and walking to the beach. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Great little beach cottage

Overall this cottage was great and very easily accessible to the store, night life and of course the beach. The only problem, NO AC. It was very hot in there with out the fans provided. There are singular wall units but not enough to cool the place down after the sun hitting it all day. There could use some overall pressure washing and window sills were filthy, but if you are looking for a cute and cozy place, this is it!

We were unaware that the AC at the property was not working until after your stay when our cleaning crews reported the issue. The problem with the units has been resolved so the property will be cool for all future stays. We hope to see you at the beach again next time!

Misleading

The house smelled like musty smoke. After a few days our suitcases and clean clothes smell like old smoke and we will have to wash everything. We arrived and the mattress covers were dirty, unknown splashes on wall at bed, and sandy floor. Also didn’t realize there was a second rental basically connected to the house. We had to share a small driveway with another renter. This wasn’t ideal with young children with us. The location is close to beach access and park which was great but the loud music from close bar/night club is clearly heard until close to 3am.

We wish we had been made aware during your stay of these issues so we could have had the opportunity to address them for you right away. We do our best to set clear expectations in the property listing by noting that the home is walking distance to two local bars, which may lead to some noise due to the proximity to the local nightlife. We also disclose that this is one side of a duplex, which can occasionally result in shared common areas, like parking. We’re always looking for ways to improve and appreciate your comments. We hope you were still able to enjoy some of what the area has to offer.

Cute little cottage!

This house was everything we needed! The bunk bed situation was perfect for our young kiddos and house was clean and what was expected when we got there. We were worried about it being right next to a bar and even though the music and people were loud on the weekend, you couldn't really hear it that much in the house. The AC unit in the back bedroom was leaking pretty badly when we arrived, but after a quick email they had an HVAC guy come out and fix it right away. TV was kind of hard to figure out between the 5-6 different remotes but luckily we didn't spend much time watching it anyway. No complaints! Great stay!

Rats and bees!!!

Every time we sat outside we would see rats running across the yard. Notified rental agent and they sent out exterminator but didn’t help. Wasps all over the place. Inside of houses ok. Very outdated but still ok. It’s located right behind a store and a bar and that prob where the rats were coming from but regardless the rats were all over the property. In the front yard there is a box with many exposed wires. The picnic table in the front yard has a broken bench and is very weathered. The grill at the small house had no propane tank so we bought one. When attempting to hook up the hose to the tank smelled gas and realized the hose was leaking around the adapter. Tried to use the grill from the other porch and it had food on it where it had not been cleaned, dirty, rusty etc. The bikes were rusty and had flat tires.

We certainly apologize that you encountered any issues at all with the property. Yes, the property is located behind a store and bar (as disclosed in the description) but the maritime environment, in general, has many species of wildlife. We are not convinced the rats are a product of the store or bar. We were able to alleviate their visits through a couple of different techniques and have had no more reports concerning rats. All of the properties we manage are required to have pest control contracts. Management was not informed about the other issues discussed above until this review was posted and you had departed. We regret this as we could have cured these small other issues in just a few short hours. We have replaced the picnic table with a new one & replaced the grill. The bikes were left free of charge as a courtesy. However, we have removed them at this time due to maintenance concerns and have no plans of replacing them. We do ask all guests to supply their own propane. We do this mainly because the corrosive environment of the island does not treat propane tanks well and they become unsafe very quickly; just as the hose did on the grill that was at the property (now replaced). We also ask that all grills are cleaned by the guests after their use. Apparently, the previous guests did not clean the grill. We will ask them to be more mindful on their next stay. We would also like to add that we gave you $100 off your next stay as a token of our apology. We are happy to report that “The Covey Cottage” is back to being a great and affordable spot on the island with our corrective actions and we are sure you will enjoy your next stay. Again, sorry that you had any issues but we hope that the stay was otherwise pleasant.

Cozy Covey Cottage

The cottage was cozy, near the beach, and instagram-worthy. There were a couple of issues upon arrival that the property manager attended to fairly responsively (the section of plywood out front on the grass was odd, though). Nice amenities, but they cottage could use at least twice as many place settings. The description states that it could sleep 9, but only has plates and glasses for ~8, iirc. That's an oversight that should be correctly. Otherwise, the location was lovely. I'd be happy to visit again.

A Great Taste of Topsail

Pros and cons of covey cottage

Pros: -2 minute walk to public beach access -kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. -6 beds -2 full bathrooms -cute outdoor space -extra supplies like boogie boards, beach chairs, corn hole, bike helmets -washer and dryer! Cons: -bedrooms are both very musty smelling even with dehumidifier on - WiFi does not reach throughout the house -poor experience with getting assistance to fix keypad (required multiple calls) -property was NOT CLEAN when we arrived including piles of sand, dirty countertops, and dirty floors.

Kind of Disappointed.

The house smelled really bad. I had to buy a can of spray and spray it for 2 days to get rid of the smell. There was a lot of bugs under the furniture and the table was unstable. Wifi was a problem and we could not get a signal in the back of the house.

Covey House

Cute place. A little music at night from the bar across the street, but not objectionable. Other than that a quiet neighborhood. The front porch with the fan on is a great place to sit in the early morning & evening. This was a second house for us on vacation - a get-a-way from the other cottage we rented where the family stayed on the beach. Basically we were here evening & early morning. Our quiet time at the Covey House!

Cute place!

I really liked this house. The beds were comfortable and it was spacious for myself and my daughter. I felt like the cleanliness was lacking. The porch was covered with sand, kitchen table was dirty, bedroom mirror was dirty. Everything was dusty. Needs a good thorough cleaning. Otherwise great and easy process!

Very nice place!

Our family of four enjoyed this beachy cottage! Super clean and beautiful decor. Had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals and really nice gas grill. Everything was so neat and organized. Instructions were printed on TVs, ac units, and various other items around the house. Very well thought out design. So convenient to beach access and right beside a convenience store. Our kids loved the arcade across the street. This place is perfect!

Great design and appointed well

This cottage was an example of an ergonomic living space that was purposeful and smartly designed. Hooks where you needed them, kitchen essentials, 2 full baths, and plenty of sleeping and lounge spaces. The owners chose comfortable cotton textiles, sweet beach accents everywhere, and low maintenance options- the rooms were easy to keep straightened and pretty all week. The outdoor shower is heated and we spent hours reading on the porch. With less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, we could hear the surf and enjoy beautiful skies all day. Downsides didn't bother us- it is next door to a food mart/bar, the music played until about 1030, and it is across the street from an arcade/second bar, so it's right in the middle of a small hum of activity that was overall very calm and only busy for pockets of time in the evenings. 2 minutes to a playground, and you can hop on their bikes or a car for less than 5 minutes for ice cream parlors, pizzerias, shopping, the fish market, and morning cappuccinos. Nice advantage is the second cottage next door if traveling with relatives or friends.
