Family gathered to celebrate june graduations and birthdays. Age range 18-86. The first few days were unusually hot and we spent most time in the water and then came into the air conditioning during the hottest late afternoons. The rest were overcast and perfect temps. Caught some fish, kayaked, canoed, ate and drank. Was a great house for lots of folks. Everything went very smoothly!
We had a blast with our group of friends and family members. 4 days/nights over the New Year Celebration just flew by us super quick. The place is beautiful and right on the lake. Plenty of things to do in and out of the house. Thanks, Dave
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! it had plenty of room for our large group! We really appreciated the large kitchen and living room for hanging out during the rainy weather. The only complaint we had was there were some repairs that needed to be done on the cabin that would have made our stay just a bit better.
Gorgeous lake home with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy! Small sandy beach for younger kids and a floating platform for the older ones. All the necessities we needed were there. We enjoyed the time together!
The home was a perfect spot for our family vacation. It comfortably fit 22 people ranging in ages from 1 to 80, and had something for everyone! The kitchen is well appointed with everything we needed to cook multiple meals for a large crowd. By far, the biggest hit was the lake and all the water craft our host made available to us. We are so grateful to have found this place. The host was outstanding in communicating as needed and graciously helped us out when several items were mistakenly left behind. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this place!
theEveryone loved
Held my annual sales meeting at property. 14 of us stayed and property met all of our needs. Provide adequate space for our group meetings and personal space. Being on water was a bonus.
20 of our family stayed there, from 3 months, to past 70 and every decade in between. They all loved the home, the beach, the fishing, the sand, all of it. There was an abundant room for all to be and do what they wanted and we would come together for meals and cards. My family wishes to go there another year just to be together!!
Thanks David for an awesome week .
David the owner met us at the cabin at the beginning of our stay. He showed us around and explained how everything works. The AC worked great and we were comfortable at all times. We have a large family: 25 people including me and my wife, our 4 children and their spouses, and 15 grandchildren between the ages of 3-12.
We never felt crowded.
The kids enjoyed the game room downstairs and the adults had plenty of space to relax. We had BBQ;s, roasted marshmallows, and enjoyed the lake.
The home had a row boat, 4 kayaks, life vests for the little ones, and the sandy beach was ideal. A fantastic week !!!
My family (14 adults, 6 kids) stayed over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful experience! So much space - a bed for each person, plenty of play room for the kids, a large yard, and room for everyone at the beach. The beach is shallow with a small sand area which was perfect for our little ones. The house was spacious enough so the kids could sleep while the adults could play games and hang out without fear of waking them up. Dave was a great communicator and made us feel like we could reach out with any questions. Everyone in my family remarked how great the house was and we are working on plans to stay again!
Our one week family reunion for 24 people ranging in age from 1-66 years old was fantastic. The property was quiet and secluded on the small 74-acre Kusel Lake. Kayaks and paddle boards were provided which were perfect on this calm lake. The dock area has a sandy bottom which the children enjoyed as they jumped off the end of the dock. Well-appointed kitchen to make meals for large groups (which we did a lot of meal preparation as there are few quality restaurants nearby). The house was very clean and had plenty of room for everyone including sleeping arrangements. I would NOT rent Mr. Winkelâs 27-year-old jet ski, as it performed erratically during our frustrating 3-day rental period. Otherwise, I highly recommend this property.
We have stayed at David's home several times with our extended family and have always enjoyed it. Pictures of home are accurate...it is absolutely beautiful! Huge house and never felt cramped. David is very easy to work with. Wonderful yard for lawn games. There's a lot of plates, silverware and glasses. Not so much serving dishes but we brought our own. Because of high water there is no longer a sandy beach/grassy area by the water. The swimming is awesome once you get past where the grassy area was. The only place to sit was on the pier. That was ok with us, but if you have smaller children it would be hard. Other than that it was amazing!
We had a nice time and enjoyed the property. There wasn't anything negative in that respect.
However, the host's handling of the cleaning fee left a really bad taste in our mouths, and we won't be renting here again. The rental contract states that "The security deposit will be returned no later than twenty-five (25) days after the end of Rental Period to Renters, with any damage costs of cleaning costs required taken out of the security deposit." On December 8th, 24 days after our last day at the home, I still hadn't received the cleaning fee refund, nor had I heard anything from the owner about it. I messaged the owner, who said that his cleaner was sick and unable to clean the home, but he would ask about the estimated cleaning costs and send a check for the difference, then another after the cleaning was done. I received that check five days later. 11 days after that, I sent a message to ask if there were any more updates on the final amount. He told me he reached out to the cleaners' billing person but hadn't heard back. Two days later he said that he sent the final check and the cleaning bill in the mail, and nine days after that (yesterday, 52 days after our final day at the rental) I finally received it.
While I appreciate that he was willing to send some of the refund based on an estimate, I do wish there was some communication beforehand. We split the costs of this rental between a large group of friends, which caused a lot of headache when we didn't know what was happening with the cleaning fee. Even a short message explaining the situation proactively would have been great.
This huge cabin in a wooded setting was perfect for our multi-family Thanksgiving gathering. Kitchen was large and fully stocked. Beds were comfy. Comfortably fit us all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely family reunion here. Plenty of space, a quiet, remote location (but not too far from grocery stores and restaurants), and a nice lake for swimming and kayaking. Dave is a very personable host and went out of his way to help us get acclimated.
Amazing cabin with a lot of rooms and fun activities. We enjoyed our stay and we will come back for sure for another getaway!
The owner, Dave was great at communication and overall a very nice person! Thank you!
I bought a campfire girls camp in 1995 that was 60 acres on two lakes. I kept the best 15 acres and the best 200 feet of water frontage and built a large log home for my 5 daughters and large extended family in 2000. Now that my daughters are grown and spread out I decided to share some of the beauty of this wonderful place. . As such, the home is very private.
