This latest setting by The Gathering Tree harkens back to a the local roots when sawmill workers powered the Stone Forest Sawmill down the street and raised their families here. Every corner reveals complementing contrasts. Take some old world brick, steel I-beams, and charred oak then mix in the botanical elegance of a Victorian greenhouse and finish it off with a touch of industrial soul and you have the essence of this gem. Time worn brick pillars host to wandering vines.
The property is even better than in the pictures. We have stayed with The Gathering Tree for the past five years and their customer service and all they do to support our group is truly above and beyond. Any question, issue, is resolved quite literally in hours and the property manager is always reachable. This property allows for several shared common spaces for our group but also had enough rooms to create a nice, safe environment for our entire team to be separated at night. We had several team meetings and chats at the downstairs dining tables and our athletes had a blast gathering around the pool table on the second floor and socializing on the patio swings outside. Our coaching staff also got to enjoy some time on the third floor to have meetings and our own free space. The pictures of this place are a snapshot of what the property truly offers. So grateful to have stayed at The Brick and Beam.
UNFORGETTABLE setting for an intimate celebration! This place caught my attention as a possible micro-wedding venue when we were here a few months back. The owners added 2 neighboring 4bd/4bath units. The neighborhood is authentic and gritty Flagstaff and used to house loggers of a nearby sawmill. Upon entry the property is nothing short of GRAND! The brick and huge chandeliers evoke a London art house. Vintage steel, open air atrium, huge skylights, and open stairs conjure a Brooklyn loft speakeasy. Raw stone and worn oak beams, and Chesterfield leather couches and plush fur throws. Accent lighting and live foliage are stylish. The ambiance is historic, hidden, & haute but not haughty. Not having to drive to be together and having the whole place for our group made the best use of our time together. The rooms were all large. Some rooms are massive with king beds and sleeper sofas. Everyone had private en-suite bathrooms. The multiple group hangouts, inside and out, to gather, and relax are all photogenic. We used the third-floor deck as the backdrop for the wedding. It overlooks downtown with panoramic mountain views. We lit up the firepit beneath the huge I-beam, kicked back in the swinging chairs. kitchens were well-stocked. One kitchen is obviously designed for catering. Be aware this property is not remote. It is in the city and thereâs neighbors. Best of all, the host was responsive, gracious, and super helpful. For our gathering.
Appears that we were the first guests at Brick & Beam in Flagstaff â In a word, INCREDIBLE! We have stayed at other venues by this host, and theyâve always been good. This one was next-level on all counts. Super clean, beautifully designed with greenhouse/cottage atmosphere, and packed with thoughtful details. The chefâs kitchen on the 3rd floor had amazing views, and there was also a semi-commercial kitchen with huge fridges and an ice maker. Each floor had several places to gather groups or retreat away into rooms. Loads of rooms and each had its own bathroom â which was hard to find this close to downtown. The 3rd-floor deck hot tub views were incredible. Atrium was a fabulous group gathering spot full of light and plants. The favorite group spot was the I-beam pergola hanging chair & firepit area which connected by a huge opening to the atrium. The home sits on a hilltop at the end of a cul-de-sac, with views of downtown, NAU, and the mountains. There was ample parking, including five garage spaces which wasnât mentioned in the listing. Couple minor hiccups with the drip systems and cabinets which were all seemed to be due to it being a new building and quickly taken care of. Very much a college-town neighborhood, which is expected near downtown. This place is clearly designed for micro-weddings and retreats. A bit more expensive than other places we checked out, but so worth it. They offer private chefs and catering. Weâll be back and using chefs next time!
