Whether you're relaxing with a good book on the porch and listening to the noisy Creek; or hiking and exploring this exquisite and unique area... you are sure to have a tremendous time making fabulous memories at our family cabin. You'll discover some of the oldest mountains in the world. There are innumerable waterfalls that will awe you; and hiking trails to explore. Wildlife abounds and you will see beautiful animals in their natural habitats.

Our Four Seasons are varied and extraordinary, from winter snow skiing, gorgeous flowering plants and songbirds in springtime, hummingbirds, white water rafting, bass - trout - and fly fishing; boating and cool mountain hikes throughout summer; to spectacular fall colors as trees transform from vivid greens to bright oranges. More mountains appear as the leaves fall, and mountain views surround this lovely vacation area in the Great Smoky Mountains.

And in case you haven't heard, Franklin is considered the "Gem Capital of the World." We have mines where you can find rubies, sapphires and emeralds to treasure, or wander and browse at our annual gem shows.

Franklin is a charming town with plenty of shopping for the whole family, from antiques and elegant gifts, to mountain crafts and flea markets. And Franklin offers outstanding live entertainment at The Great Smoky Mountain Theater, drawing audiences for a wide variety of shows. In Highlands you'll enjoy elegant dining and varied fine food, wonderful shops from Kilwins ice cream and candies, Calders Coffee Cafe; to art galleries, hand made jewelry and hiking shops, and so much more.

You'll find all the grocery stores and amenities you'd like, and excellent restaurants to please every palate.
