(One of the most photographed street scapes in Atlantic Canada). Spacious living room and kitchen area on main level with bedrooms and bath on Lower floor. Charming historic elements can be found throughout the unit including original brick and fireplaces. A few steps from some of the best Halifax has to offer in shopping amenities, top restaurants, historic sites and night life culture. Only a 2 min walk to the waterfront board walk, the location cannot be beat!

We had a wonderful stay! So close to the Pier and places to see. The suite was cozy and had character! Great communication and welcome from Tristan when we arrived. Good parking too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Halifax! Location was excellent, beds were comfy and parking was great. Small suggestions to make the stay even better would be a few more towels, extra pillows and bedding and more hooks in bathroom to hang towels to dry.

This rental is in an ideal location for exploring downtown Halifax. Two blocks to the waterfront area. Also, this place is super quiet. We enjoyed our stay!

RATS. Had a horrendous experience at this unit. In good faith, notified the owners that there was a sizeable rat hanging out in the downstairs bedroom and as such we were just not comfortable staying for the duration of our stay. This is after the night before we had heard a squeak in the kitchen and chalked it up to hearing things. The owners were evasive, didn’t return calls and wouldn’t issue a refund. As a maritimer, I would expect better ethics in this regard. Don’t waste your money or time. Deal with people who are fair and equitable. And, to the vendors, get the place fixed. Huge rats running out of the bedroom grate is unacceptable.

We are genuinely surprised by this review from Shannon, as it mischaracterizes both the events of this stay and how we handled the situation. This guest received a full refund. We communicated promptly, returned calls, and worked with VRBO on it. At no time were we evasive—our message history reflects this. We have now asked VRBO to review this post as misleading. When the guest reported a rat, we took it seriously, with multiple calls and messages. The guest said they “thought” it was a rat. We were surprised, as we have never had rats here. We are transparent that late fall/early winter can bring increased mouse activity in urban buildings and we employ professional pest control. To date no evidence of rats has ever been found. This was a 7 night stay, and the concern arose on day five after five enjoyable nights. We asked whether a full refund was reasonable, but when the exchange became hostile, we issued it in full. I attended the property with our pest control provider the next day. Their inspection found no evidence of rats and suggested it was a mouse. We are known for being responsive and attentive. Given the effort made to resolve this, it’s disappointing the situation was portrayed this way

We were 4 adults you only provided 4 bath towels 2 face cloth and 2 hand towels. One we had to use in bathroom? There was only comfortable seating for 3 so after being out touring all day someone had to sit on a dining chair. There is lots of room next to the small sofa for a comfortable chair. The bathroom vanity had no room to put anything on it. Instead of a plant a little table would have worked especially for the couple who had absolutely no place to put anything in the small bedroom. The covers on bed were not sufficient to keep warm. Positives great location and clean. Hooks behind the doors in rooms would work to hang the wet towels.

It’s was everyone’s first time to Halifax, it’s a great city with much to see and do. This stay was a perfect location for that. There were a few things that we found annoying with the stay and could be improved upon for the next guests. The host was aware that there were 4 of us staying for 4 days. Yet there were only 3 coffee mugs, 3 wine glasses and 3 places to sit in the living room. The kitchen had only one part roll of paper towel, one garbage bag, one tea towel, one huge soup pot and one huge and very worn out frying pan. In the bathroom we had only 4 towels, and nowhere to hang them to dry, and 1 face cloth to fight over.Leading up to our stay communication with the host Lane was excellent. Once we arrived we asked a couple questions and unfortunately never got a response. Overall it’s a charming place stay and a perfect location to explore the city and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Hopefully the host reads this and makes some changes to easily make this a 5 star stay.

The location is fantastic and the apt is nicely renovated. The bedrooms are in the basement down a narrow curving stair which is not made explicit in the description. The apt was poorly equipped. I had to ask for a water kettle, dish towels, a blanket for the 2nd bedrm. Only one large pot in the kitchen & 2 frying pans. I asked for a small pot but never got it. No cloths iron either. There were no towel rods or hooks in the washroom. The 2nd bedrm has no place to put cloths or person items - no dresser or hooks, only two small side tables that are taken up by lamps. Nice place that could be better if they took the time to add some amenities.
