A beautiful, comfortable home with all you need. Itâs located in a quiet, serene area. We loved looking at all the books! About 20 minutes to Bar Harbor.
Very lovely home and super comfortable bed! House was pretty warm, and we couldn't seem to adjust the a/c, but we just opened the doors for a while to cool it down. Also, we couldn't figure out how to turn off the TV.
We had a wonderful stay! Apartment was very comfortable and exactly as described. It had all the amenities we needed and felt like home.Located in a quiet area but only short 20 min drive from the park and Bar Harbor.Check-in and check-out was easy and communication with the host was easy and quick. We would definitely stay here again!
The house is lovely - it is just as described: cute, unique, well-appointed, and well-decorated. Books everywhere! Itâs solidly built and has everything you could need or want, including throw blankets and board games. The kitchen has more small appliances, cookware, and dishes/utensils than Iâve ever seen at a vacation rental. The location is serene and quiet on a wooded lot in Maine. The host was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the house for a long weekend and I would love to return someday for a longer stay.
First, I should say that this is an absolutely beautiful property. It's in the woods--very private and secluded. While there is not much around by way of food in the town of Townhill, Bar Harbor is easy access. The house is open and airy, lots of beautiful wood inside, extremely comfortable beds and you could stay there for months and months and never run out of reading material-truly a Nerd's Paradise. A few things the place needs--shampoo, conditioner and a blow dryer. These are standard in traveling and I stopped packing them years ago because they are always available. These are easy fixes. The harder fix is shades. There are huge windows which are great during the day, but waking up at 5am each day when the sun comes streaming in was a little rough, which was 3am to our bodies since we'd changed time zones. The scenery was fantastic, but a little more sleep would also be good. We would definitely stay here again--I'd even bring my own blow dryer(!), but we would need an option to cover the windows.
