My family and I stayed at Marina Bay for one week in early January. Marlon's unit is exactly as advertised - clean, modern, and comfortable. Check-in was seamless, and Marlon was extremely responsive to all my questions. He even provided complimentary drinks/snacks in the unit. We were also pleasantly surprised to discover we could access Dickenson Bay from just behind the property without having to walk on the main road - and this part of the Bay is just past the resorts so its a bit more quiet. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Marlon's condo, and would certainly stay here again. Note, this unit is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator or wheelchair ramp, so taking luggage up/down was a challenge - something to keep in mind. We originally booked Marlonâs condominium on the beach at Dickinson Bay, but weâre asked if due to a problem with the property if we would accept an upgrade to one of his townhouses, known as The Radcliffe, at no extra charge. Whilst the property is very spacious and well equipped there were a few issues with the property.
By accepting the upgrade what we gained on space we compromised on location.
Firstly the property was advertised as having a whirlpool which is does not have. The walk to the beach is downhill, but the return to the property is very difficult due to the steepness of the road (we are both active 60 year olds) and therefore a car is a must in this property. Behind the property there is a dog resort/spa (kennels) which meant we could not sleep in the back bedroom due to the noise. The shaver socket in the en-suite to the back bedroom does not work and there is some tile edging to the shower cubicle missing - leaving a very sharp edge. We therefore moved to the front bedroom of the property. However the road to the front of the property was quite busy so again we experienced noise in the form of traffic and generator noise from the generator attached to the apartments opposite. Whilst there are an abundance of restaurants close to the property, most are within the Sandals resort and not available. A car is essential when renting this property as there are no amenities within easy walking distance.
The property could also benefit from some new saucepans .
