Snowshoe Cottage & Boathouse Ă  droite sur Mirror Lake

Un Adirondack Cottage original situé sur Mirror Lake avec son propre hangar à bateaux et à seulement 2 pùtés de maisons du village de Lake Placid NY. Ce chalet idyllique des Adirondacks avec foyer au bois en pierre de ruisseau offre une vue imprenable sur le lac Mirror et les montagnes de la chaßne des Adirondacks du sud. Le hangar à bateaux a un salon à l'étage avec terrasse, un quai sur les rives du lac Mirror et comprend un canot et un kayak pour votre usage. Snowshoe Cottage est la quintessence de l'atmosphÚre des Adirondacks combinant le charme du vieux monde avec la commodité moderne, les planches de lambris et les planchers de sapin en bois avec de nouveaux meubles de style Adirondack. Le chalet peut accueillir six personnes avec style. Il est parfait pour une escapade romantique ou vos prochaines vacances en famille.

Veuillez noter que le chalet lui-mĂȘme n'est pas directement sur l'eau. Bien qu'il y ait une vue imprenable sur le lac et les montagnes depuis les chambres au bord du lac du chalet, il y a une autre maison situĂ©e de sorte que nous n'obtenions pas de vues complĂštement dĂ©gagĂ©es. Le hangar Ă  bateaux est, bien sĂ»r, directement sur l'eau. Les vues de lĂ  sont l'une des meilleures vues du lac Mirror et des montagnes de la chaĂźne sud des Adirondacks et sont totalement dĂ©gagĂ©es.

Perfect

Snowshoe is perfection. The cottage is immaculate, organized, and beautifully curated. We enjoyed a peaceful respite from our busy days at the horse show. Coffee never tasted as good and sleeping in the mountain air is always such a treat. Michelle and Mark thought of everything. We loved the take away blanket and left a bag of our favorite coffee behind. It shares the same name as our beloved and recently passed Golden Retriever, Huck.

Really the best

Smallish older house with modern upgrades (baths, kitchen, etc.) Quiet location easy walking distance to town. Very close to but not quite on the lake, with great view lines to the lake. Boathouse, which contains canoes and kayaks, etc., is right on the lake and has a finished and furnished upstairs with wi-fi that we used as an office. House is well maintained and furnished with a lot of thought and care. Comes with every toy - from kayaks, canoes and bicycles to puzzles, books and games. Owner was very communicative and obviously takes a lot of pride in the place. Highly recommend for one or two couples or a small family.

Luxury on the lake

Snowshoe Cottage provides every amenity you need to have a relaxing and fun experience vacation. The setting is beautiful and the included boathouse was one of the best features. We canoed, kayaked and paddle boarded on lovely mirror lake. A short walk to town, restaurants and shops have lots to explore.

Cottage on the lake

Snowshoe cottage is a little gem on mirror lake. It a charming updated hunting cabin from the 1900s, with historic charm maintained while modern updates were added. The rustic Adirondack decor completes the ambience. The little boathouse is right in the lake, and just a few steps along a grassy right of way. Walkable to downtown but still quiet 
 wake up to loons on the lake.

Best vacation spot!

Snowshoe Cottage couldn't be more perfect. The location is amazing, views are to die for and there is absolutely nothing that you need when you arrive at the house. Michelle and Mark have thought about EVERYTHING and more. We can't wait to go back next year!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Michelle and Mark's property was TOP NOTCH! The Cottage was wonderfully decorated and very well appointed with everything you could ever need or want. The location is just a short walk to incredible shopping and restaurants. We spent the majority of the time at the Boathouse and the dock. The SUP, kayaks, and canoe were used almost everyday and the stunning Mirror Lake was the perfect playground for the kids (age 8 & 11). They SUP and swam for hours while we enjoyed the mountain view from the dock or paddled along with them. We enjoyed making Smore's at the fire pit and star gazing from the Boathouse. We also received about 2-3 compliments on the property from passerby-ers daily. You will not find another place with the such a great location and amenities. We WILL be back! Thank you for sharing your Cottage with our family.

Lake Life! (again)

This was our 2nd stay at the Snowshoe Cottage and we hope to back again in 2022! Perfectly situated for getting out on the water, hiking and climbing in the High Peaks, having a good time on Main St. or simply relaxing by the fireplace on a rainy day.

There is no way this could have been better!

The house and boat house are truly amazing in every way, in an unbeatable location. Everything looks great the online pictures 
 in person you can multiply just how good it really is by about 10! Every detail is considered and attended to with care, and that makes this property a very special place.

A Lakeside Retreat

This cozy cottage is perfect for a family vacation. It is well equipped for cooking, relaxing and watching the changing sunlight over the lake. The boat house has canoes, kayaks, SUPs and floats of every size along with a postcard worthy view of the mountains. Highly recommend this house.

Perfect cottage, perfect location.

Snowshoe Cottage was a dream. Michelle and Mark thought of absolutely everything to make guests feel at home (and not have to bring a lot of stuff!) The newly remodeled bathrooms are gorgeous, the beds are super comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The boat house adds an element that just throws it over the edge of goodness. There is everything you need to have fun on the lake or just relax and take in the views. We will be back for sure! Perfect house!

We had a wonderful vacation at Snowshoe Cottage. The house is in a perfect location, very close to all of the shops and restaurants, and has everything you could possibly need. It was also very nicely decorated and clean. Having a private dock and boathouse, stocked with boats and fishing gear, is so convenient and fun. We had same rainy weather and were still able to relax and look over the lake from upstairs in the boathouse. There are also lots of games, puzzles, and books in the house in case you need some indoor activities. We are looking forward to going back!

Adirondack"y" to the max!

The proximity to Lake Placid shops and restaurants - Fabulous - can't get much closer. The main house oozes charm and comfort with that Adirondack feel inside and out. The main attraction is the Boathouse! It was the perfect place to relax with cocktails and gaze at the beauty of Mirror Lake & the mountains. Truly a gem! Our stay at Snowshoe Cottage was PHENOMENAL!

Lake Life!

Desperately wanted to extend our stay - one week wasn't enough! The cottage has it all - a great location, boats and paddle boards to enjoy on Mirror Lake, a thoroughly equipped kitchen, books and maps to plan adventures in the High Peaks, even strong WiFi in the boathouse! The owners were very friendly and quick to respond to the few questions we had. Hope to book another stay soon.

Perfect piece of paradise

We come to Lake Placid several times a year and think of it as our home away from home. We were hesitant to stay at any of the hotels we love due to COVID and were worried that our trip may not happen. Deciding to rent the Snowshoe Cottage was the best decision we made. Our 5 year old loved the boathouse and access to the water for fishing and stand up paddle boarding as well as the fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The property is exactly as described. Fantastic location with everything we needed to have 3 generations of family fun. Can't wait to return!

We didn’t want to leave

We’ve been coming to Lake Placid since 2012 and always stayed in the waterfront rooms at High Peaks Resort. We always needed two rooms (sometimes three) to accommodate our kids, my elderly mom and my brother and with no kitchen, eating out with a group of 8-10 people for every meal can be challenging. With the Pandemic and social distancing , we decided to rent the Snowshoe Cottage and it was perfect from the moment we stepped on the property. The owners, Mark and Michelle thought of everything. First the house: the decor is so warm and rustic that you immediately feel relaxed. Kitchen had every utensil that a chef could need to create a gourmet meal. They even had the highest quality pots, pans, and their Keurig was commercial grade that made the hottest cup of coffee. I truly felt like I was in my own kitchen. The beds were firm with crisp cotton linens and super comfy pillows (we brought our own from home which stayed in the car). The bathroom showers were amazing and my husband loved their towels so much that I had to google the brand and bought them for our home. There are bikes for your family to use along with corn hole and an excellent grill, complete with charcoal ready to fire. If it’s raining, Mark and Michelle have a closet filled with board games for your family to enjoy. The Boathouse has everything that you could want—Paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, life jackets and towels. The boathouse has an upstairs room with a seating area and desk, perfect to sit with your laptop and answer emails in the morning while the family still sleeps. Yes, the boathouse even has WIFI. My husband keeps telling me not to write such a great review in fear that the Snowshoe Cottage will be booked solid for next year. I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t share with you how wonderful this place really is. Plus, we already booked our week for 2021. -Patty & Chad White

Great Location!

We loved staying in Snowshoe Cottage. The property is located right next to the Mirror Lake Inn so walking to town is really easy to get take-out (we did not feel comfortable dining in due to Covid). The house is fully stocked with cookware, games, backpacks, and most importantly, boating and boarding equipment to enjoy the boathouse. My husband was working from home during half of our trip and the boathouse upstairs provided a perfect remote office for him. It has a desk and great wifi and a fantastic view of the water. The house also had spices and salt and pepper when we arrived as well as TP, paper towels, soap, and basic cleaning supplies as well as sunscreen and bug spray. Also, the photos are great but the house is even prettier in person. The decor is really adorable and embraces the Adirondacks but is also super livable and comfortable. I would love to rent this cottage again! Maddy

This cottage was perfect for our stay at Lake Placid! Within walking distance of shops and the Olympic Museum, great views and amenities. Hosts were flexible, very responsive and sent us regional information that helped our travel plans both on our way and during our stay.

Incredible house on Mirror Lake!

We can not say enough about this property, if it is available for your trip, you need to stop reading these reviews and just book it! It's amazing. Our family had such a lovely time at Snowshoe cottage. The house is beautifully appointed. There's not one thing missing for a fabulous stay. There are so many over the top touches, starting with a gift for the guests, a game closet to be jealous of, post cards to mail home, fully stocked back packs for hiking and a picnic basket, designer hand soap, and ice cream maker etc!! The beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen has everything one could need! The boat house is amazing, one of the few on Mirror Lake and it's so stocked you won't spend an extra penny on water activities... it's literally all in the backyard. Michelle is a dream to work with, and was patient with all my questions, so much so we left her a gift! You will not be disappointed! Book it now!

Lovely Adirondack cottage with stocked boat house on Mirro Lake

Snowshoe cottage is absolutely charming. We stayed for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The owners are gracious and the house was comfortable and equipped way beyond our expectations. We love Lake Placid and having the opportunity to vacation at Snowshoe made it even more special. We will be back!!

Amazing 4th of July vacation!

My family and I (me, my husband and our 4 & 6 year old daughters) spent an amazing week at this wonderful property. The location was great and easy to get to almost everything in town by walking. And a daily run was easy - you just step outside the camp and run around mirror lake. We spent lots of time on the lake with the paddle boards, and especially enjoyed going out in the canoe for the fireworks on July 4th. The camp was clean and neat, and had so many extra details to mention here. We really felt like it was a home away from home and can’t wait to come back!

From the first time we visited, we were captivated by the stillness of Mirror Lake, the scent of pine in the air, and the timeless charm of Lake Placid.
