Alex’s Hideaway is an amazing place to stay at. The property was clean, had everything you could possibly need, and location was great! Bonus features were the pool , hot tub and the elevator… all well maintained. Highly recommend this spot to any family with older kids and grandparents along for the trip!

Amazing stay, the house was very clean and well stocked. The location is perfect for beach access, fishing, shopping, and entertainment. Highly recommend and looking forward to our next stay.

House was perfect for our group of 6. Everyone had their own room and there was more space if we needed it. Plenty of room to spend together, and plenty of room to get away and relax too! We had beautiful weather and the 3 min walk to the beach was awesome! The kids spent a lot of time in the pool and everyone enjoyed their fair share of time in the hot tub! Many games of pool were played, and the games that were on site were a great selection to give plenty of options for all ages to enjoy. I gave the house a 4 for cleanliness only because the walls (mostly in the stairwell) were pretty dirty and around a lot of the outlets and light switches were too. But none of that deterred us from having a really amazing week or took anything away from the memories made!

We’re so glad everyone in your party had plenty of space, alone or together, and lots of activities to enjoy. We really try to keep the house stocked with books and games because, unfortunately, not every day is a pool day. We did note your comment about the stairwells and light switches. We start the season with a thorough deep clean of absolutely everything, but as we near the end of the season, the wear and tear from the 15 families before you begins to take its toll. I was actually supposed to be there this week to paint one of those stairwells but an issue at home thwarted those plans. Rest assured, next season will start with some fresh paint inside and out! We look forward to your return and please remember to keep an eye on your inbox for big news about 2027!

We have stayed at this home the past 3 years and absolutely love it. The elevator is a godsend as we travel with older family members. The pool and hot tub are always sparkling clean and very relaxing. This year was a little crazy due to a Nor’Easter that basically cut off Hatteras Island from the mainland. Our stay was September 19-September 26. The weather was beautiful until Wednesday night when the storm made a portion of the outbound road impassable. Danny and Renee sprung into action with their communications with us and even offered to have their owners closet unlocked in the event we were running out of paper products. The temporary road was up and running by the following Tuesday, but late afternoon. We left on Wednesday September 30 to get back to Jersey, extending our stay by 3 days. Thank you both again. Your compassion during an otherwise stressful time was very much appreciated. See you next year.

Danny advised us before we even arrived that there was a problem with the 2nd A/C system. He already had an HVAC tech scheduled and in a day or so he arrived and took care of it. We accept that things can happen but he took the initiative to lets us know before we even arrived. The place worked so well for us because my wife and I could be isolated from my daughter and her friends! The pool was an absolute bonus as well.We'll probably book this next year and that's unusual for us given we've been visiting OBX for 35 years.

We had a wonderful family vacation with 6 adults and 2 kids and this home was perfect for our group! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and it was easy to find a quiet spot when someone wanted a little downtime.The house was well equipped and the downstairs game room with a full-size refrigerator was especially convenient. The elevator was a huge bonus for bringing in luggage and groceries.The location couldn't have been better! We were just a 4 minute walk to the beach, where we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and fun filled days in the ocean. In the evening, a 4 minute walk to the sound provided the perfect view for sunsets and watching the kite surfers. Having the pool was another great option for relaxing and keeping the kids entertained. There were also several shops, restaurant and an arcade within walking distance. The free passes to Rodanthe Pier were an added bonus!Our host was wonderful-very responsive and quick to provide information. Overall this home truly covered all the base and gave our family everything we needed for a fun vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

This house was in the best location close to beach for surfing, skim boarding, sun tanning, the pier for nightly music or looking for ghost crabs below. Plus fishing!!!! Can rent a pile from pier as well.Shops and resturants bike away- The pool was an absolute plus! Secluded and refreshing Plus bonus hot tub! Plenty of room for family and friends to crash as well.Plenty of games noodles for pool And yes I dove into a puzzle with a glass of vino when nighttime hit.All the beds were comfy Plenty of kitchen needs...Stocked up of dishes, bake ware, glasswareMay need to bring your own spices, condiments extra trash bags or paper products...but that about it!We rented bikes nearby they were delivered with an hour Well be back for sure!! Loved Alex's hideaway was a special memory well share with our kids. Again tyOBX memories forever!

The property is just as it is described in the listing and photographs. The communication from the owner was excellent including responsiveness to even minor a question that came up. Having the pool on site was a huge plus for the multigenerational family that stayed. Everyone could enjoy the pool area even if not swimming. The house is large enough and spread out enough that everyone has their privacy and space especially when poor weather comes through the area there is no issues with having space to do things. The amount of games and the space to spread out was great. Bedrooms were nice and comfortable. So close to the pier and ocean is a plus but far enough back that you aren't covered in sand the entire time but still have it available for enjoyment. Would recommend this property to anyone and will be on the top of my list when I return.

We were looking for a good getaway from the usual Jersey shore visit. Alex's Hideaway was perfect. Our host Danny, was always available to help out. My wife and I were celebrating our 50th anniversary with our family. I really appreciated the elevator. We had eleven travelers with our group and the house was just right. There was plenty to do. The Atlantic beach was a short walk away and was not overcrowded. We also spent some time at the beach on the inland sound. Beautiful sunrises on the sea side and beautiful sunsets on the sound. Both could be observed from the many balconies. We barbecued on the charcoal grill for two of our dinners. We spent lots of time in the pool and hot tub. Our grandchildren loved the pool. Each night we gathered to play card games in the large family room to the 4th floor. The house was very well supplied with dinnerware and basic necessities. Every room had access to a TV. and Wifi was also provided. The pier featured music for two of the nights we were there, and there were many shops and paces to eat and get coffee nearby. We did take several side trips to Avon and Nags Head to walk trails and explore the area, and also to dine at some of the local eateries. All of the amenities were in good working order. The facility was clean well cared for. Thanks for a wonderful trip!
