The place was adorable and very close to everything you'd need. I loved the concrete flooring and the tall open windows. Ruth did a great job trying to think of everything you'd need.
The shower, refrigerator, and kitchen appliances could use some extra attention as far as cleanliness is concerned. The bathroom shower mat and shower curtain have seen better days. The fridge needed to be cleaned and there was old coffee in the pot. I'm being picky.
The main reason I like using VRBO is the privacy you get compared to other platforms or hotels. There appeared to be construction/other work happening while we there, so there were alot of cars and foot traffic. As a result, I didnt take advantage of the porch (also insanely hot weather), leaving the window coverings open, or exploring the grounds. But that was my decision.
I think it would be more accurate to say that the main house, just across the driveway from the cottage, overlooks the beautiful pond. The cottage overlooks another structure beside the main house (where much of the work was occurring), although the pond can be seen from the cottage itself. All just footsteps away. I didn't expect all of the structures to be situated so closely, so I was disappointed in the lack of "privacy" that I had expected as it felt like more of a shared space even though we had the cottage to ourselves.
Ruth was very responsive and respectful of our privacy. Overall, we had great stay at the cottage.
