Whispering Wind Sunsets is next door to The Hernando Hideaway. Rent them both for larger family gatherings! Disability Accessible! We are 30 minutes from the Memphis International Airport, 18 Miles to Graceland, 30 Miles to Downtown Memphis and 10 miles to the casinos.
This was such a fantastic place to stay. Very clean and the interior was so unique! We loved the layout of the home, especially the downstairs bedroom with sitting room (perfect space for a pack and play for my 6 month granddaughter) and bathroom and all of the natural lighting within the home. The outside pool was very clean and we enjoyed playing in it with my 5 year old granddaughter. The location to Southaven and Memphis was really close, but we were far enough out of the city action to enjoy the quiet. A place we definitely will come back and visit.
The residence was absolutely beautiful and exactly as it was depicted in the photos. The location was easy to find and the check-in instructions was easy to follow. The host was very accommodating, providing several restaurant options. We had everything we needed for the three days stay. The best thing about this location was that it was isolated and quiet with a beautiful view over the farmland. It was also within 15 to 20 minutes of some of the best barbecue places that we have ever been to, along with 30 minutes drive to Memphis for day trips. We would highly recommend this location for anyone that wanted to get away for a quiet and relaxation.
Our son-in-law had a heart attack scare. We rented the home and drove up from Florida. It was the perfect place for all of us to gather and be together.
We have stayed in a number of VRBO properties and this was by far the best. The attention to detail was outstanding. We have found, in the past, that when trying to secure a handicap accessible location that they donât always take into consideration everything that is required. This was the exception as everything was designed with accessibility in mind. We will return again as we could not have been more pleased.
Gilmore is so kind. Heâs very knowledgeable about what heâs doing. He built this house & itâs beautiful and well thought out. The weather was a little cool to sit outside much but we made the most of it. We have rented both of his houses and enjoyed both! You canât go wrong with either one of them! Good location either way you go. It was lovely! Thanks Gilmore for sharing your homes.
My husband and I agreed that this place and our stay were perfect for us. Here is why...far enough out in the country to feel peaceful but close enough to run into at least two good size towns...Hernando or Tunica. Beautiful views, huge trees shading us, a pool to relax in (well maintained) and a large wrap around porch to laze about on were some of the outside things we adored. Also, a raised patio area! Inside....well, let me tell you it was such a well-designed and well thought out space all around. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area was so beautiful and decorated with interesting items. The use of muted green color was relaxing to view. The loft above all of this was a terrific bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom. A wonderful cooking island with a large surface of bar area provided a grand space for entertaining set up. The downstairs bedroom was so well designed (plenty of grab bars) with a large shower and window box. There were double closets in a small reading nook area to the right as you come into the bedroom. We enjoyed the space in the home to move around easily and even with all 8 of our family together for an evening it did not crowd at all. The grandkids and kids enjoyed the pool after we had all sat together at the large dining table to eat the dinner I prepared in the well-appointed kitchen. We were pleased that Russell was a very amiable host and very responsive to any questions.
This property was inspired by a magazine from many years ago called "The Not So Big House". I just fell in love with the vaulted ceilings and open loft concept.
The Whispering Wind Sunsets is positioned high on the bluff overlooking thousands of acres of rich Mississippi Delta farmland which provides for some of the most beautiful sunsets. The house also has 6 skylights and plenty of windows to let in as much natural light as possible. We are 30 minutes from the Memphis International Airport and 38 minutes to downtown Memphis in an extremely safe neighborhood where you can feel comfortable leaving your doors unlocked. It really is a peaceful and wonderful neighborhood that I am proud to be a part of.
