Wonderful stay!! The location was nearby to our venue in a neighborhood that was calm and quiet. The property was exactly as described including all of the listed amenities. Everything was very clean and lots of little touches like extra fresh towels, individual soaps and a coffee pot. Also, the washer and dryer was a life saver! Would definitely recommend and we'll absolutely try and book again when back in the area.
Wife and I were in town for a concert, the house was very nice, great amenities and close to a lot of great hot spots. Would definitely book here again.
Good location in an up and coming area that is close to downtown, University of Louisville campus, and the Highlands. Short drive or Uber to restaurants. North of Bourbon is a great choice that is walkable. The house has everything you need, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Very easy check in and check out.
The house was just as advertised - great courtyard out back for drinks and a fire. The neighborhood looked a bit iffy - but it had some great little local bars and restaurants around. I highly recommend visiting Hauck's Corner if you're in the area. Host was response and helpful.
There were four of us that stayed at this property for the Derby and had a great time!
As soon as we entered the house, we noticed that Michael had left us some bourbon and Derby glasses, plus, some books on the Derby and must things to do while we were there. AWESOME.
The house has two bedrooms. One has a king bed and the other has a queen bed. In the room with the queen bed, there is also a day bed in an adjoining room that could be used for a kid (no door in the adjoining room).
The house is in an excellent location where you could walk to run restaurants and bars.
It is also not far from Churchill Downs. I ran to Churchill Downs one morning through the Louisville campus and it was only about three miles away.
Great time and great house for Thurby Thursday, the Oaks on Friday and the Derby on Saturday!
We had the most amazing stay at Michaelâs house while we were in Louisville for Bourbon & Beyond. Perfect location- we walked to the brewery across the street as well as Hauckâs a few blocks away. Grocery store was also really close. The house was the perfect setup for two couples- super comfy king size beds and great kitchen setup! The back yard was my favorite place for morning coffee and we LOVED all of the amazing decor throughout the house! Would definitely stay there again!!
Michael was super fast and responsive to all communications! The home is fully updated and restored. It is in a neighborhood that is still in stages of being restored. Parking was available curbside right in front of the house. The back part (side porch) of this home is what we rented. It had 2 roomy king bedrooms and one small bathroom/shower upstairs. The stairway leading to the upstairs is steep. Downstairs had a roomy kitchen and living room. The back yard had a privacy fence with table and chairs. Quaint and relaxing at the end of a busy day. The home was spotless! The beds were comfortable. We didn't hear any noise from the adjoining apartment (front porch entry) and slept well. Michael had stocked the kitchen with regular and decaf coffees for us. We walked to and ate at a restaurant across the street named Germantown Social. It was excellent with a varied menu. A welcomed find for 3 weary travelers.
Michael was a great host and accommodating to our needs. The house has a lot of character and charm and it's a newly renovated "shotgun style" house. There's some outside space on the front porch and on the back patio.. great for hanging outside. The location is very walkable in Germantown. It's about a 25 min walk to Bardstown road or a cheap Uber ride. It's also pretty quick to get downtown or to the university. There's a Kroger right up the street on Goss with a few cool little bars and restaurants. Also, Finn's is right across the street in the Germantown lofts which was a perfect dinner spot.
I am an avid traveler (both domestic and international), and a Japanese and art teacher who also writes, and enjoys opening my home to friends and guests.
My two-story home was built in the late 1800s and I've worked to ensure that it includes very modern touches. I fell in love with the home from the beginning because of its convenient location and peaceful setting in the middle of Louisville's Germantown neighborhood. I've worked to make it a very comfortable space to relax in, with attention to detail in the bathroom that I remodeled, comfortable king-size beds in each room, and the private backyard space.
Easy walk across the street to Germantown Social Restaurant, Four Pegs, Monick Brewery, or The Post for great pizza if you don't want to cook or get in your car. Head to the riverfront, visit one of the city's museums, zip-line in Underground Louisville, or to the Zoo. All within 10 minutes. Be sure to reservations for one of the local bourbon distilleries for a great experience of local culture with tasty benefits you can take home.
