Wilderness Ridge - Starry Nights & Mountain Sights - Pet Friendly
Tucked away on a mountain side in the Great Smoky Mountains, stands a beautiful mountain cabin where the stars burn bright above the treetops and the mountain air is crisp and clean. Wilderness Ridge is a hidden gem of a cabin where you can truly unwind and experience the magic of the Smoky Mountains.
Wilderness Ridge is located in the heart of beautiful Wears Valley just a couple of minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The family adventures of Pigeon Forge are an easy drive 15 minutes away. The quiet side of the Smokies Townsend is just down the road 7 miles. And, you can miss the traffic by taking a scenic drive through the Park to Gatlinburg in a leisurely 25 minutes.
This cozy 3-bedroom cabin exudes warmth and comfort. The main level features a comfortable living area with a vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows that welcomes the morning light. Cozy furniture is centered around a large stone fireplace and flat screen TV to create a great place for family or friends to enjoy a warm fire and watch a good movie or sporting event.
The well stocked kitchen, complete with new dishes, new silverware, and new cookware, makes meal prep a joy. It has stainless appliances and a farmhouse sink. There is a large gas grill located on the deck for cooking your favorite recipes. Relax and enjoy a country breakfast or a barbeque dinner at the large wooden dining table or move outside on the deck to dine in the fresh air.
Inside, on the main level, there is a comfortable master bedroom with a king bed, furniture and TV. Adjacent to it is a small bedroom with twin bunk beds, a desk and TV, perfect for playful children. You can access the bunk room through the master bedroom or through the screened in porch area. A full bathroom with a standing shower is located between the kitchen and bedroom area.
Upstairs, the loft bedroom offers an airy escape. It has an attractive queen bed, antique cabinet, a reading area and tree top views from the side and front windows. A private bathroom with a tub/shower is attached.
From the deck, a partial view majestic of Cove Mountain, one of the tallest mountains in the area at 4,077 feet and Roundtop Mountain grace the horizon. You may see the infamous blue smoke rising on them after a rain or the vibrant colors of sunrise or sunset lingering behind them.
The world around the cabin is alive with the sounds of rustling leaves and bird calls. Keep an eye out for bears with cubs, a fox, turkeys or deer that could pass through the yard or woods. The screened in porch room, the wrap around porch, and the bubbling hot tub are all wonderful places to savor the great outdoors.
Wilderness Ridge is located in a quiet, spacious gated community. Untouched by the rush of the world, Wilderness Ridge is the perfect cabin for friends and families that want a Smoky Mountain refuge close to Smoky Mountain adventures.
When you are ready to venture out, the Wears Valley entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is only 2 miles away. Hike to beautiful waterfalls, explore historic cabins, picnic next to a sparkling river or ride horses on woodland trails.
Year-round fishing and seasonal pool access is available nearby. Wilderness Ridge has a membership for your use to the Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli located approximately 1 œ miles from the cabin. Fishing pole rentals are available onsite during the summer season.
Day driving trips through Cades Cove, to Clingmans Dome, around the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, to the Mountain Farm Museum & Mingus Mill near Cherokee or on the Tail of the Dragon make fun & memorable outings. The entrance to the new scenic Wears Valley/Walland section of the Foothills Parkway which took over 50 years to complete is located just 1/2 mile from Wilderness Lodge.
For local dining near the cabin, some favorites are: Grandmotherâs Kitchen, Elviraâs CafĂ©, Pawpawâs Cajun Kitchen, Sloppy Hog Burger Joint, and the Wear Valley Social Food Truck Park.
