This was our 3rd trip to the Michigan City/New Buffalo area and this was by far our best experience. Great communication with the host, the house was adorable and had everything we needed. Lots of room to spread out and the game room in the basement was a wonderful addition. The walk to the beach was quick and the beach was beautiful. We would love to stay here again!

A clean place to crash close to the beach. Kitchen amenities could be improved with the addition of drinking glasses and stainless steel pans (the non-stick pots/pans provided were in rough shape). The outdoor shower was out of order. Plenty of towels/TP/paper towels provided. Overall, a fine place to stay, especially with kids. The screened porch and loft were a lot of fun for them.

This house accommodated our group great. We REALLY appreciated the cleanliness and how close it was to beach. Not a hard short walk at all.

We had a great time staying a week at this cute cottage. The steep stairs made us a little nervous with two newly-walking children, but they both quickly adapted to them. We loved the back enclosed deck and were grateful for all the beach supplies (toys, chairs, wagons). We came from Utah and couldn’t fit beach towels in our luggage, and they are not provided by the host. So our son from Indiana supplied beach towels for our group. We ate some meals here and enjoyed some meals at some local eateries. There are so many activities and things to do in the area, but our favorite activity was our daily time at the beach!

Great beach cottage

Our family loved this home! The proximity to Long Beach was great, an easy walk even with our three kids. Michigan City was a great town and we loved also being so close to the Indiana National and State Parks.

Great Stay

Property was clean and met our needs. The neighborhood was beautiful. Private beach was an extra plus. All the neighbors/locals were very friendly. We loved walking to the beach and through the neighborhood in the morning and evenings.

Our Family very much enjoyed our stay. The house was ver clean, welcoming and accommodating. The hosts were ver quick to reply to any questions. The walk to the beach was short and the location was great close to many things to do. We would definitely stay here again.

Nicely decorated, very well maintained property. We had nine family members staying. Plenty of space and accommodations for all ages. Very close to the beach, just a short walk away. Host was awesome and quick to respond to any messages. Would definitely stay again!

Great beach getaway

We spent most of a week. The place was clean, well stocked and quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the beach. Was able to walk to beach easily and only a few stairs to reach. We visited the botanical gardens nearby and a few restaurants. Would definitely rent again.

Amazing getaway

This place is wonderful for a family getaway. We all enjoyed the quiet, beautiful screened in porch. It comfortably accommodated eight people, and the owners were responsive and kind. Short walk to beautiful beach. Highly recommend.

Great stay close to a nice beach

Great stay close to the beach! It was a lovely unique space to stay in. Keep in mind there’s only two bedroom spaces that have doors that close. But it was perfect for our needs and our kids loved the loft sleeping area! We also loved the screened in porch and the various beach items and fire pit! Great spot and we hope to come back!

Everything was beautiful, clean, and welcoming. It was family with my 3 and 4 yr old and everything was ready for some fun. Toys, games, screen in patio, and beach fun. The walk was easy for young ones and for grandma. We would definitely plan another trip.

Your home was everything as described. Extremely clean, comfortable beds and great communication with host. Plenty of seating on the outside deck & patio. Great place for a family to get together.

The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of kitchen items, dishes, pots and pans etc. Plenty of beds for everyone. Nice porch and back yard with fire pit. Two good bathrooms with plenty of towels. The beach was great and not too far away. We also saw two small deer roaming around on two days. Wish we had stayed longer.

Family Vacation

What a great place to stay! So clean and comfortable- and such a short walk to the beach! It was perfect for me and 3 young adult kids- husband and oldest child couldn’t make it. We had more room than we needed, but that’s not a complaint. My kids and I had fun with the foosball table, too. Great location, close to everything and we had all we needed to make food and enjoy the fire pit for s’mores on our last night. We hope to revisit in the future!

Nice House

Overall, this is a fine place to stay. It's a short walk to the beach, and the house has plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen would benefit from more silverware and a functioning can opener. Clear instructions on how to use the outdoor shower would have been helpful. We never did manage to crack the code for getting that to work during our stay. But, for what it is, a spacious place to crash after letting your kids wear themselves out at the beach, it's nice. We would definitely rent again.

A house close to the beach

The biggest advantage of this house is that it is only a short walking distance to the beach. If there are any rain days, there is a screen porch to enjoy the day. There was only two of us, but this house could hold many more. Lots of large table games in the basement for children to play. Negatives are the master bedroom has a double bed, not a queen, which we are use to. Also, the second bathroom in the basement is far from any bedrooms. However, if the goal is to visit the beach daily, this house is well positioned.

In regards to the bed size, I can confidently say that it is in fact a queen bed, as we outfitted the home ourselves, including ordering the mattresses and linens. And just to be sure, we measured the mattress and it is 60" by 80", which is standard queen size measurement.

Me and 4 friends had a great stay at the Charming Bungalow. It is a uniquely designed house with plenty of space for us all to spread out and relax. Ed, the host, was very responsive and easy to communicate with from the time we booked until the time we checked out. The location is excellent - a quiet/safe/walkable neighborhood and a short 3 block walk to the beach. The house is also a short drive to the national park and the charming city of New Buffalo. The beach equipment available to use at the house (beach wagon, chairs and umbrella) made the trip to the beach easy and even more enjoyable. One thing to note is there are lots of stairs in the loft area which could be challenging for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. Other than that, this house is well cared for, clean and ideal for a beach getaway with friends or family. My friends and I made great memories here. I highly recommend this property and hope to return next year!

Cozy bungalow with plenty of room
