Cynthia was wonderful! We were in the area right before the worst winter storm hit so internet was out and she took care of it right away. Checked with us later because power had gone out - but we had left tow because of storm! Home was very well appointed, clean and comfortable!

We had a great stay in Monroe thanks to Cynthia's house. We had plenty of space to spread out and we enjoyed hanging out both in the house and outside on the back patio/back yard. We were in town for family events and so we were able to gather as a larger group and enjoy time together.

Perfect house for family gathering

This house on the bayou was perfect for our stay in Monroe. It has everything you need, kitchen utensils, lots of towels and comfortable beds. The view of the bayou is beautiful, and the bird feeder out back brought lots of wildlife to watch and enjoy!

We had a wonderful time staying here with our family! The house was very comfortable, spacious, and had plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. When the AC went out, Cynthia was incredibly responsive and apologetic — it was fixed within the hour, which we really appreciated.The only downside is that there is no WiFi, and with kids plus spotty cell service, that was a bit of a challenge. Other than that, everything about the property was great. We would definitely recommend it for a stay!

The property itself is absolutely stunning. The view of the bayou is spectacular—peaceful, expansive, and exactly what you hope for when booking a getaway like this. The home is beautifully situated, and the natural scenery alone makes a strong first impression.Unfortunately, the experience was significantly diminished by the host’s interaction. When I asked a simple, reasonable question about whether there were curtains in the living room (given the large windows and visibility at night), the host responded with an unnecessarily irritated and inappropriate tone. Rather than addressing the question professionally, the host escalated the situation and suggested that I “check out and go elsewhere tonight and I will tell VRBO to refund your money.”

The specific question was "are there curtains on the windows on the front of the home". You were in the home and could see that there were blinds in all rooms requiring privacy (baths and bedrooms). My response was an appropriate offer for you to checkout and receive a Full refund if you were unhappy that there were not window coverings on the kitchen sink window and the window by the dining table. It was a kind and generous offer.

I live in Monroe and have owned long-term rentals for more than 20 years. Because this home is large and located in a great area, I decided to convert it to a short-term rental after I had positive experiences staying in VRBO rentals.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Bayou Shores is a quiet stress with no through traffic. The bayou view is gorgeous. Come and sit on the back patio and enjoy the views. You may see a crane or a heron.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The location really cannot be beat! One turn off of Highway 139 and you are in a quiet location with an outstanding view of the bayou. If you like to fish, bring your gear and fish from the land pier. If you travel with your canoe or kayak, consider launching in the bayou and enjoying a tranquil experience. There is no swimming in the bayou.
