Wonderful stay

The communication and ease of checking was great. We found the cabin exactly as described. It was very clean and well maintained. We felt right at home. Throughout our stay Elk Springs communicated with us on weather concerns and eventually on check out. Very nice. I can’t wait to go back and use them again. I will absolutely be recommending them to friends!Thanks Elk Springs for a memorable vacation.

Quiet Getaway with Bears and Nature

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was absolutely ideal for our getaway! It was clean and cozy and had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed. We even got the thrill of spotting not one, but two bears during our stay! The first encounter happened right when we arrived at night—my husband stepped outside to grab our luggage, only to quickly return, saying, “Bear!” A fully grown bear was just a few feet from the door. The next morning, we spotted another bear strolling down the driveway. So, if you stay here, keep an eye out and stay alert! We loved the excitement, though the nighttime surprise is something we won’t soon forget.The cabin was clean, and the sheets, pillows and towels provided were clean. The beds were comfy, and we enjoyed having the extra blankets provided. We liked that there was extra storage in the bathroom downstairs for our supplies. The living room, dining and kitchen were well-equipped and looked exactly like the pictures. We also enjoyed the pool table, rocking chairs, and balconies to sit outside and watch the birds and wildlife. However, the cabin could do with some deep cleaning of the return and bath vents, the décor, like the floral arrangements on the walls, as well as the blinds and window surroundings. It’s worth checking that all the smoke detectors are functioning; the detectors in the top rooms had no lights, which made me wonder if they were working. The Wi-Fi cut out most of our stay, but it wasn’t a big issue. The cabin is tucked away up in the mountains, surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The drive up involves narrow, winding roads that can feel daunting at night, but you get used to it. It’s close to town for easy access to essentials, the park, and Gatlinburg, yet far enough to feel wonderfully secluded and peaceful. We will rent from Elk Springs Resort again and would recommend this cabin.

All other rentals I have stayed at least had salt. I left what I bought so hopefully next renters will have some. We loved it ! Very quiet and comfortable!

Cabin was nice, but property mgmt could do better

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, location was great for us - easy in & out. Second, the cabin is very nice. I only had a couple of issues with the cabin. (It sleeps 6 but only has utensils for 4 - someone is sharing a fork. The downstairs bedroom needs a foldable luggage stand, the existing dresser is small. The sleeper sofa & matching loveseat are flaking off and attaching to clothing quite easily.) Other than the minor things, the cabin was great for what we needed. My biggest problem was with the property management. I had used them once in the past and figured I'd use them again. They will now be my 3rd choice going forward. If you book thru them and have an issue, email rather phone is the way to go. Their use of texting and phones ranges from confusing to no response. The texts about arrival time, delays, no delays - it was irksome especially since the cabin hadn't been cleaned. The floors hadn't been swept, dust on all tables & dressers with cobwebs on decor & lamps. (I wrote the date in the dust.) Fitted sheet was put on inside out & dust ruffle was wadded under the mattress, found it when we fixed the sheet. Dirt & dead bugs on the bathroom floor. Had to use clean towels to mop up the standing water in the bathroom. We thought it was a leaking toilet, now we believe it was just a mess left behind. The upper toilet kept running. When I called about the water in the lower bathroom and the constantly running toilet, no one from maintenance ever responded. 18hrs after I left the vm for maintenance, I got a phone call from a number (Odom Const) that was just checking in to make sure all was well. She was unaware of the maintenance call that I had made and I thought that's why she was calling, so that led to some confusion. Woke up one morning to a busted trash bin latch and rather than calling, I emailed them pics and THAT got a response and they were quick about it. I guess I should have emailed about the toilets rather than leaving a voicemail.

Please add a toaster and more dishes and cups (to avoid running the dishwasher a few times a day).The Internet was weird. Wifi was working fine on laptops and tables but not on the phones. Cellular is very weak in the cabin and you need to use wifi calling there.

The cabin was beautifully decorated and the furniture was very comfortable. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The WiFi was good. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and arcade game machine. It is situated in a very quiet, peaceful area. Even though there were other cabins nearby, we were not disturbed by any noise. The drive to get there is a bit curvy and 5 miles could take 20 minutes, but it was all worth it!

Diamond Mine for 4 nights

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Diamond Mine is a nice and comfortable cabin. Easy check-in, good location and easy to get to. Went to the Rampant Lion Pub down the road one night and that was better than most places on the strip, unique and support small business. Beds in the cabin are comfortable but only has a thin blanket so if you get cold you need to bring your own blankets.Now to what was frustrating when you need to have connection with the world outside the cabin. The WiFi is very unreliable. We reset it behind the dryer constantly and it still went out soon after. Flimsy. We had to buy extra from xfinity for $10 for two people. Also bring own towels for the hot tub. No extra towels or bedding if you get cold. Overall a good stay. Just a few frustrating things that are important for us. Might not matter to others.

Diamond Mine is in a perfect location. A quiet area but close to many restaurants,GSMNP,craft stores and even pigeon forge using alternate roads. The cabin was well cared for,clean and comfortable. The amenities were excellent quality. The communication with checkin and out was clear and efficient. We had a fantastic time.
