Weâre Lucy and James, originally from the UK (Lucy) and Malta (James), and we moved to Cape Town in 2017 for what we thought would be a two-year adventure. Years later, weâre still here â raising our two boys in the beautiful Constantia Valley and calling Cape Town our forever home.

We chose Constantia because it captures the very best of Cape Town â a rare blend of natural beauty, history, and lifestyle. Set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and rolling vineyards, the neighbourhood feels like a countryside retreat, yet itâs only 20 minutes from Cape Townâs city centre and the airport. Living here means enjoying peace and tranquillity without ever being far from world-class attractions.
Constantia is famously the birthplace of South African wine, and Groot Constantia â the countryâs oldest wine estate â is right on our doorstep. We love being able to stroll through the vines, pause for a tasting, or linger over lunch at one of the estateâs celebrated restaurants. The surrounding valley is dotted with more award-winning wineries and fine-dining spots, making it a dream location for food and wine lovers.
Itâs also a haven for outdoor living. From morning jogs through the vineyards to family picnics at Kirstenbosch Gardens, hikes up Table Mountain, or afternoons on the nearby beaches of False Bay and the Atlantic coast, there is always something to do in the fresh air. At the same time, all the conveniences of city life â shops, markets, and excellent schools â are close at hand.
