Owl Cottage is a charming two-bedroom retreat in the heart of Cape Town’s Constantia Valley, set within lush gardens with direct access onto Groot Constantia – South Africa’s oldest wine estate. From the garden gate, guests can wander through the vineyards, enjoy award-winning wine tastings, or dine at the estate’s acclaimed restaurants, all just steps from the cottage.

Designed to suit both short getaways and longer-term stays, the cottage is perfect for families, couples or digital nomads seeking space, comfort and a peaceful setting. The main bedroom features a queen bed and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, while the second interleading bedroom has twin beds and its own en-suite shower – ideal for children, guests or visiting friends. An open-plan lounge and fully equipped kitchen make it easy to settle in and feel at home.

The cottage also works beautifully for remote stays, with fast, reliable WiFi, a dedicated workspace, and a quiet environment ideal for focused work between vineyard walks or pool time.

Owl cottage itself is charming, a real home from home and very well equipped. We also loved the well maintained garden and pool area. Having previously stayed at busy Sea Point, we appreciated the peaceful surroundings of Constantia and the incredible views of Table Mountain and the Groot Constantia vineyard. Simply perfect.

We’re Lucy and James, and together with our two young sons, we’re delighted to welcome guests to Little Vines.

Originally from the UK (Lucy) and Malta (James), we moved to Cape Town in 2017 for what was meant to be a short adventure. We quickly fell in love with the Constantia Valley and all that Cape Town has to offer, and it has become the place we proudly call home.

What we love most about living here is the lifestyle – beautiful vineyards, mountain scenery, outdoor living, and a wonderful sense of community. Whether we’re exploring local wine estates, walking the surrounding trails, or enjoying time with family and friends, we feel incredibly fortunate to live in such a special part of the world.

Hosting at Little Vines is an extension of what we enjoy most: welcoming people and helping them experience the very best of Constantia and Cape Town. Our cottages are designed to be comfortable, relaxed and family-friendly, offering a peaceful retreat while remaining close to many of the city’s top attractions.

We’re always happy to share local recommendations, from our favourite restaurants and wine farms to scenic walks, beaches and hidden gems.
