The staff were friendly and nice whenever I interacted with them and while basic, the breakfast was filling and the lobby is simple and nice. The room was clean, but unfortunately that's where the good things end. While updated from whatever this hotel used to be, the rooms still need work. Our shower curtain rod was falling off the wall and was glued on. Because it was slanted down due to it not being fully attached the curtain pooled in the tub. On top of that, the water never got hot, only warm, and would intermittently get cold while showering. The door lock to the bathroom was also broken and the toilet seemed to run 24/7. Some of the light switch plates were missing screws, and the first night after I got in the shower I realized there was no body wash in the dispenser. Thankfully they refilled it next day, but that's something they should check for since the body wash is provided instead of bar soap. A mini fridge is provided but our temp control was broken at the lowest setting and if you want a microwave there's one in the lobby along with plates, utensils and coffee. The furniture in the room is updated and matches the lobby, and while minimalist, is really all you need. The room was kept clean, and maybe I could forgive all the issues if it was sub 100/night. However, at a price over double that it's a poor value. I've stayed in much nicer hotels in Orlando for less and this first experience with Spark really turned me off to the brand.
