We had the best experience at this property!! Barbara was an amazing host, I got married on the property last week and it was amazing! Barbara was so kind and helpful with anything we needed! The house was so clean and well maintained, if we ever need a large property in Maine again we will absolutely be back!!

We had a wonderful time at Barbara's home. My husband and I had a friend reunion with 3 other couples. The property was incredible; house was comfortable. kitchen was perfect for cooking and visiting, and the out buildings were full of fun activities for our whole crew. We were able to kayak one afternoon before the tide went out. I highly recommend her place for family or friend gatherings. The husbands biked two days and commented how easy and accessible the biking routes were for them.

Our stay at Sea River Retreat exceeded our expectations. The buildings and waterfront cottage were clean, organized and equipped with everything we needed to accommodate our large group. We loved kayaking with the changing tides while watching the seals and bald eagles. The pickleball court and tree house were a huge hit with our kids. The location was perfect for day trips to Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor as well as Bucksport and Castine. The owners, Barbara and Les, were wonderful. They were very responsive and communicative throughout our stay, and had great recommendations for exploring the area. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful property and hope to return in the future.

Beautiful spot to park our extended family for just shy of a week. Comms with Barb and Les was perfect and they were so helpful if there were any glitches.Only complaint was that the sleeping options were a bit varied. We had a big group, so some had to sleep in the basement and in a few not air conditioned rooms. To be clear, we checked in on a very very hot day, but even on the less toasty days, the lack of AC was a bit of an issue in sleeping quarters.

Whew! That sure was a hot week! Record setting - quite unusual for our area. In addition to the 3 mini-split ACs, we have 4 additional ACs hooked up in all the units. I only wish when we checked in on you that you had mentioned. We could have easily and happily brought you some mobile AC units. But not a problem! We’ll just add more for future guests who might get those far above average temperatures. We want everyone comphy!

The accommodations were perfect for our family reunion—generous kitchen supplies, multiple places to gather together. On rainy days we loved playing pickleball in the activity building. Having kayaks and all the necessary equipment (life jackets) on site made enjoying the water easy. Simply walking up to the view was a gift! We also appreciated campfire materials on site at the ready. At night the stars were clear because we were far enough away from the light pollution of cities. The buildings were beautiful and practical. Our hosts were incredibly helpful—before booking, getting ready for our stay, and during our stay. We can’t say enough good things about this property and these hosts.

We had the best stay at the Sea River Retreat. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We enjoyed kayaking, swimming off the dock, fires at night, playing in the yard, games in the meeting house and spending quality time together. It was peaceful to be surrounded by all the wildlife and spot seals in the river. The house itself has many spaces to relax and get privacy if you need it while still having accessibility to common areas. Barbara has the place well stocked and has clearly thought through all the details to ensure her guests have a comfortable stay. We hosted a small wedding ceremony in the yard (20 ppl). Barbara had benches, folding tables, chairs and the perfect backdrop to do so. She was easy to work with, responsive and even took time to have a phone call to go over the space. We cannot say enough good things about this rental and would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a place to bring a group together. Thank you Barbara and Les!!

Family Reunion

This property provided great access to nearby activities including kayaking, fishing, hiking, swimming, and relaxing together during our family reunion...all in one place! We only stayed 2 days and 3 nights (one day at the property and one day at Acadia National Park, approximately one hour away), but the great floor plan in all three buildings and private waterfront access gave so many opportunities for family connections. I only wish we had planned to stay longer. Wonderful, peaceful, comfortable stay...we will be back!

This property was really awesome! We had 20 people staying with us but hosted an event with 42 total and it was absolutely perfect for this. It looks just like the photos (maybe even a bit better in real life) and has plenty of space to gather as a group and lots of nooks and crannies for private quiet time too. There were about 8 or so kayaks to use, with one being a two-person and all the others, single. It is very well stocked with all kinds of pots/pans, bowls, many spices, and lots of coffee with numerous coffee makers. Additionally, there were numerous refrigerators/freezers, several full-size and many mini fridges. The cabin is lovely and has a single bedroom. The Meeting House is stunning and has a full kitchen, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. Lots of folding chairs, tables, blowup mattresses, and big thick blankets around. The linens are high quality, beds are super comfy. Lots of screen windows/AC.The main house is really spacious, with 5 bedrooms. The master is huge and looks just like the photos. There’s also an outdoor fire pit right by the water with a circle of chairs around it and a whole shed full of firewood. Additionally, there’s a large gas grill with a full propane tank, a Green Egg smoker/grill, and a smaller grill.The large grill was tricky to get lit but did work well. There were some Maine bugs: wasps, black flies, etc. so bring spray.Barbara was very responsive, helpful, flexible, and nice. It truly was an absolute dream!
