Détente 1 chambre Cottage près de la plage

Ce chalet spacieux au deuxième étage est niché à l'arrière d'un terrain de 2 acres juste en face de la plage «Rockpiles», qui est juste un couple se décompose du célèbre Pipeline Banzai. Ce chalet 960 pieds carrés est une escapade en couple parfait. Le gîte dispose d'une chambre avec un lit queen size. Il a une grande salle de bains et une grande salle qui comprend une salle à manger, cuisine et espace de vie. Double portes françaises s'ouvrent sur un grand porche couvert avec un coin salon, une table et des bancs. L'escalier se vide dans une cour privée qui est clôturée avec une clôture d'intimité en bois de 6 pieds. La cour du chalet est équipée d'un barbecue à gaz et d'une table de pique-nique pour les repas en plein air. Un petit coin buanderie abrite une laveuse / sécheuse avec 2 chaises de plage, tubas, jouets de plage, et 2 vélos.

Il ya une grande piste cyclable dans la rue qui est plus de 2 1/2 miles de long et passe devant tous les magnifiques plages de la Côte-Nord a à offrir. Il est un agréable 1 mile tour à une grande épicerie et plusieurs restaurants déjeuner de wagons. Dans la direction opposée et un peu plus d'un mile est Ted's Bakery, une boulangerie célèbre île.

La cuisine est équipée d'un:

Very Nice

We stayed for two nights in May. It was a great location on the north shore. On a Saturday and Sunday, traffic wasn't great - so having the bikes was nice. It was an easy ride to Shark's Cove or Sunset Beach. Plenty of things to do in the area. Air conditioning was only in the bedroom - but it was nice enough when we were there to just have the windows open. I wish there would have a been a screen on the door! We LOVED the goats coming and going. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Great Location - Private - Live like a local

I really enjoyed my stay here. It's a pretty basic rental. Its clean, big and though on the owners property you have your own entrance. It's exactly as advertised. The pictures are realistic to the property. Having the bikes there was awesome for me. I biked every morning. Foodland is so close and they have the basic things you need to cook your own food. I was here for a business trip that lasted over a weekend. So it was great to escape the Waikiki mess and live like a local on the North Shore. I did my own cooking and just escaped and relaxed. This was the perfect place to do it. I'll hopefully be back.

Great Location / Stay Not As Expected

easy access to the North Shore, a good location, don’t count on sleeping in. chose the location because of the many reviewers that raved about the location and how friendly Mele (and fam) were. place where we could interact more with the locals and someone who would be willing to offer us direction reality wasn’t quite what we’d hoped. Approached the home to check in, greeted by the family barking burglar alarm (aka the porch dog) purpose in life was to bark at the wind. The owner (assuming it was Mele) greeted me at the steps of the home and firmly told me that I needed to go back out through the front gate (about 100 yards) and around the outside of their fenced-in portion of the property (i.e. the message we are not allowed to venture near their home). object lesson because about 20 feet from the car was another “open” gate that would have made the task much easier. the chore of exiting their portion of the property proved easier said than done. turn out of the yard was so tight, I was forced to exit the property completely and go up the street for the U-Turn. Raving reviews claimed that the owners (Mele & fam) were friendly and accessible, but the owners never came over and introduced themselves nor left us with the impression that they were even the slight bit interested in their next-door tenants. Rental was spacious, clean, and well stocked with everything needed for our stay (impressive). Side bar…. you pay a cleaning deposit, but are required to strip the bed, pile up the towels and take out the garbage before you leave (by the way, the bed seemed pretty small to be a Queen as advertised. I should have measured it to know for sure.) Morning starts at 4 am, woke to the sound of a local rooster (maybe more than one) doing his best to wake everyone within earshot. after an hour (maybe two) of listening to his constant crowing, you’d fall back to sleep just in time for our property owners to start their morning ritual. 6:30 am, the fun starts again with a series of starting cars, idling motors, slamming doors and the bustle of people hurriedly preparing to start their daily routines. somewhere in there, the porch hound would manage to bellow a bark or two. Thus, you forcibly start your day! On one particular morning -about 6 am - to the sound of someone dragging (instead of carrying) garbage cans from the street down to their usual resting place near the house. Consequently no r&r. Owners were not considerate. Nextime a hotel would be better

Réponse du propriétaire: Thank you for the detailed description of your stay here at our cottage. Please allow me to clarify a few of the points you mentioned: 1)Your “firm” greeting was delivered by a friend (Mele was actually at work) who decided to stop by unannounced & hang out with our teenage son who was home sick from school. It appears she did not do a good job in greeting you & we apologize for this inhospitable welcome. 2)This visiting friend left our front gate open which obviously caused you some confusion on how to enter the property. However, I must state, I emailed you detailed instructions & posted signs marking the way. So yes, having to retrace your missteps probably was difficult since that was not the way we intend our guests to enter. 3)Your description of our yard being “Fort Knox” has to do with the fact that our beloved Border Collie was hit & killed on the highway in front of the cottage due to someone negligently leaving a gate open. Since then we have configured our yard in a way that renters are not required to open any gates & our beloved dog is safely nestled in a secure yard. 4)The “cleaning” deposit you referred to is not a cleaning deposit but a service charge that VRBO charges you the guests to use their website. We do not charge a cleaning fee. We ask our guests to do a couple housekeeping tasks due to 1 guest leaving a trashcan full of gross trash and maggots. I assumed it was common sense to empty the trashcan during ones stay - but this experience proved otherwise. 5)Our unspoken rule of thumb with our guests is to allow them to dictate how much interaction they would like. The friendly reviews you read about were due to guests approaching us. We have noticed about 50% of our guests do not want to interact with us & so we like to respect their privacy. We left a welcome book with our phone numbers along with a note to “wave” us down in the yard should you need anything. 6)Roosters crowing & dogs barking are part of staying on the NS & also beyond our control. However, we do provide a portable AC in the bedroom to help drown out some of the noise. 7)The morning noise is the final thing I’d like to address. We normally try to be as quiet as possible in the wee hours of the morning and have never had a complaint about this before. We apologize for any undue noise and will take extra efforts to tiptoe around. Finally, we would like to agree that a vacation rental is very different than a hotel and not always the best fit for some.

Amazing Location. Perfect Set-up.

We had a great night and half here (had to leave late night on last night for a flight). The room is attached to their home, but it is done in a way to be very private. They had the place set up very nice. Not super fancy but clean and orderly. We drove to Foodland in 3 minutes to get some supplies. We hope to be back soon! Thanks again!!
