Guest Access:
Our guests will have access to everything in the house including the laundry and everything in the kitchen!
The Neighborhood:
The offbeat Marigny district is known for its Cajun bistros, bohemian bars and jazz clubs, especially along Frenchmen Street. Sidewalk musicians and brass bands add a block party vibe to the nighttime Frenchmen Art Market, which sells local artwork and handicrafts. Buildings are covered in large murals, and street art alike. People walk, stroll, parade and bike around as much as drive.
Quieter spots include Washington Square where the lawns are shaded by old oak trees.
From fixer-uppers to the most exquisite renovations, the Marigny New Orleans neighborhood offers an amazing selection of traditional, local architecture.
Snuggled in between the French Quarter and Bywater neighborhoods, the Marigny was a long-time community of artists and performers. As prices have increased, itâs become much more in-demand with more than just the creative segment of the city. Some of the larger homes have been stunningly transformed into stellar examples of southern living. Double galleries, hidden saltwater pools, and courtyards to rival any.
It can be tough to find off-street parking, especially closer to the Quarter, but those unicorns do exist for the right price. Street parking is the norm in this neighborhood that was carved out of a plantation in the early 1800s and developed by Creole landowner Bernard de Marigny.
The most famous street in the neighborhood is definitely Frenchmen Street. Home to live music clubs and restaurants, itâs no longer a local secret. Instead, tourists are now flocking to the area as an alternative to Bourbon Street. More laid back, with a wide selection of local musicians performing, living near or on Frenchmen means living with a lot of foot traffic in your section. Hereâs where we give you our lecture about not moving into an area known for live music clubs and then complaining to the city about the noise.
Getting Around:
Take the Rampart streetcar to get to the foot of Canal street where you can take a transfer to the French Quarter. The French Quarter along with Frenchman Street are both in walking distance.
Street parking is limited to two hours during the day in front of the building. Parking is very limited in the French Quarter and the Marigny; however, there is street parking on the other side of N Rampart.

-- Due to back-to-back guests, weâre sorry, but we can not accommodate early check-ins nor late check outs.
-- Please take all perishable items with you. They beckon bugs and critters!
-- Upon departure, please take the trash out to the master bins. Please also make sure the house is in good order: dishes washed etc. We will take care of everything else! Failure to leave the house in good order will result in an Airbnb investigation and additional fines.
-- No guest-packages are to be delivered to the house. If you have a package delivered anyway, please note we are not responsible for the security of your package, nor are we available to help you track it down. Amazon Locker is a great way to have packages safely delivered!
