First and foremost, we thoroughly enjoyed the property and would book it again! The check-in and check-out were simple and problem-free. That being said, there were little things that could be done that would improve the stay. Replacement of missing window screens so more of the windows could be opened. Replacement of the router/modem set-up in the kitchen area. We re-taped the button on the bottom, which helped, but the wifi still wouldn't operate consistently. The dishwasher had clean AND dirty dishes in it. Maybe the previous renters forgot to turn it on when they left because the soap pod was still in the dispenser? It worked fine for us. The exterior grounds were wonderful, and we enjoyed the Aspen and the views and the deer that wandered through daily! That being said, with a little trimming and raking and such, the exterior grounds could be even more spectacular! Again we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and uniqueness of the property and hope to return again soon!
The house is very unique and fun. Unfortunately, we were notified on the day we were checking in that the hot tub was out of service. Also, 2 of the 3 lofts werenât ready for use. The other beds were very comfortable and the views are amazing!
Beautiful home and location but needing maintenance.
Overall it was a nice stay, beautiful home in a great location with close proximity to downtown telluride - about a 5 minute drive to the gondola that takes you into downtown. It was mostly clean and stocked with basic needs. It is an older home that unfortunately is lacking some maintenance. Most of the light switches did not work, the patio door was busted and taped (although included a sign that said a new one was incoming). The hot tub was very dirty, probably due to the path to get there being stones with dirt and debris. There was also some mold present in one of the basement guest bathrooms but the owner was notified and said he would have it inspected. No A/C which is not uncommon for the area but would suggest bringing fans if staying during the summer.
If I could put zero in I would... stay away from this property! They did refund part of our stay. Wires hanging down in kitchen - we found a dead bird in the bookshelfâŠ. sent Cody a text - no response â so many spider webs. Captainâs Quarters bedroom - the shower head holder would not stay up with what they had holding it to the wall, and drain was NOT draining, holding water very badly AND I go to turn off the shower and notice there is water spraying around the water knob where you turn the water on and off AND it wonât turn off for me! SO, I call for my husband who comes in and tries to turn it off and the knob is no longer working â it would not let us turn it off!!! Had to find the water valve to shut it off so we wouldn't flood the house. He finds it in the crawl space below the bookshelf and then we are left with no water because if we would not have turned it off, we would have flooded the bathroom and the area below. We stayed that night because it was after midnight. It would not have been good. We could not stay in this place the full time ended up leaving early. SOOOO many repairs need to be done to this house; it is sad really because it is in a beautiful location - just needs someone to take care of it. Other items: cut wires hanging down in kitchen; mouse droppings in one of the closets; fridge frozen over and barely worked; broken stairs; light switches and thermostats - so many that said do not use and ones that did work shocked you - pictures incl
I can honestly say I have never left a bad review, but this rental until is an exception. I will start by saying the location is great for skiing at Telluride and it does have the essentials for a place to stay with buddies on a ski trip. However the cost is too high for the condition of the unit and the listing is not accurate. The listing says NEW HOT TUB, the cover is missing from the filter the headrests are broken off and the cover shows the unit is far from new. There are two king beds that are ok to sleep on. The third room has a small day bed and a trundle on wheels -do not go into this rental thinking this will be a comfortable converted king bed option. One loft does have a really thing twin mattress with no sheets or bedding on it and I would never let my kids sleep on. The other loft does not have any bedding. I wish I could attach photos to show that the living room door to the porch had paper towels shoved in between the window and door frame for the âmissing sealâ, you could literally see out through the gaps around the window that was barely holding on, easy way for someone to get in the house. Ceiling is peeling down above shower in downstairs bathroom. Master bathroom had a strong sewage smell so we left that bathroom door closed for most of the stay. Didnât see any firewood for the fireplace, was told by owner I could go purchase some from the gas station. There are two grills and 3 empty propane tanks. WiFi is not secured network.
Driveway is very steep and wasn't plowed before our arrival. Even with a 4x4 we struggled driving up and down the icy driveway. I informed the owner but nothing was done. The house was not very clean we found a pizza box and candy wrappers. Hot tub did not heat up. The house is not well kept. The owner is very unresponsive. We did not have a good experience and we had to check out a day early because of the dangerous condition of the driveway.
Brought the family up for a few days after Christmas. The property is exactly as pictured and described but much more magical in person especially with the heavy snow fall while we were there. You simply cannot beat the view. The only negative is the driveway is basically a switchback and then you have to back the rest of the way in. 4X4 strongly recommended. We finally got it down about time to leave but most driveways in the mountains can be tough. The owners were very responsive when we had an issue with the hot tub and got someone out quickly to resolve the problem. Do not hesitate to book this property. The view alone is worth it and itâs very close to town.
We had a wonderful time here. The house is on the older side like a lot of reviews mention, but it in no way affected the experience. Besides, youâre here for the view and it is amazing. Very secluded in the midst of trees. We even saw deer roaming through the property. Very close to Mountain Village and Telluride. Host was very responsive to questions we had when we were there. Some advice for people with toddlers though- I would highly recommend bringing a baby gate or two with you when you are here. Lots of stairs and levels that could be dangerous for them if left alone. Other than that, we enjoyed every minute of it.
This is a unique, multi-story home with spectacular views. We hit the aspen turning perfectly, and the patio surrounded by changing aspen was glorious. There are a lot of stairs so be prepared. Better lighting in the kitchen would be very helpful.
Our stay was fine and the location worked well for us.
A couple of suggestions for owner: the directions to your property were very good but perhaps you could place a plaque with house number at the turn in as other owners along that road have done. Also, the photo on VRBO of the 3rd bedroom shows a bunk bed and a twin not a trundle.
The location was key for us. We wanted to explore Telluride area and further south. Beautiful area and good food and people. The house is well equipped for relaxing with a wonderful view and places for the kids to kick back.
The home is a beautiful and unique design. The view is amazing. It was very close to Mountain Village. There is access to a free gondola ride in Mountain Village which makes it very easy to get to Telluride and the ski slopes. There is a small meadow off the patio where we saw young elk several mornings. The home does list a/c which it does not have, but with windows open, it wasnât needed. The home is older and could use a little upkeep, but we really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again.
Initially the place looks nice, however thereâs so much disrepair. There was a broken window, screens missing, a broken door, and limited kitchen equipment. Towels were old and stained, soap dispensers didnât workâŠ. Just a variety of several disappointments.
We loved the location. Itâs an older house so it could use some updating and a little more upkeep but itâs charming. No complaints, we enjoyed our stay!
The property is in a nice quiet location and close to Mountain Village. We parked their and took the gondolas into town each day - super convenient! The property itself has plenty of space for our group of six adults. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of hot water, and a brand-new washer and dryer. The movie room was a nice bonus. Definitely some things that could use maintenance but nothing that detracted from our stay. Everyone in our group enjoyed themselves and got in plenty of steps (the house is on a hillside and has may levels). We would stay here again.
The house is very interesting with a unique flow (entry is on the third floor). Theater seating is a bonus! The driveway is tricky in the winter with a hairpin turn in the middle. The beds arenât exactly as advertised, as one is a âkiddieâ mattress in a loft (up a ladder). Really sleeps two couples (which we were not). Overall though, we liked the place!
This house is amazing in character, views and privacy. It is 1.5 miles from the entrance to Telluride Ski Resort. It is extremely comfortable and enjoyable at a fraction of the price of Mountain Village or Telluride. Enjoy your own private home in the mountains.
Easy access to Mountain Village, Telluride Ski Resort, Telluride Regional Airport. It offers access to year around mountain activities. Skiing, snowboarding, golf, festivals, bike riding, fishing, hiking, jeeping, shopping, animal watching and unsurpassed mountain views.
