Cute house, very convenient location to Ford Rd. Plenty of space for 4 adults and a nice, well stocked kitchen. Nicole was a very pleasant host, quick to respond to requests and was happy to give recommendations.

The host was amazing! We had people coming from FL that don’t handle cold very well. When I asked if there were extra blankets-She sent me two full sized and two lap blankets.

Nice neighborhood.

We spend 4 nights here and it was very comfortable. House is in a nice quiet neighborhood. The only issues we had were with the outside area. The photo shows a hot tub but it was removed. I’d suggest the owners add a deck box to store the patio cushions they were soaked and covered with mildew and not useable in their condition. The outdoor area looked like a nice place to hang out but needed a good power wash to be enjoyable. Overall if those issues were addressed it would be a 5 star rating

Thank you for your review and for staying with us! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the comfort of the home and the peaceful neighborhood — we love that part of Canton too. You're absolutely right about the outdoor space. We’re in the middle of improving the backyard area and have plans in motion to power wash, replace cushions, and make it a space guests can truly enjoy again. The hot tub was removed, and the listing photos have been updated to avoid any confusion going forward. Feedback like yours is exactly what helps us get better. We’d love the chance to host you again, and hopefully earn that 5-star rating next time. Best, Dan & Nicole Owner, Black River Management

My family stayed here while having our floors redone at our house. Overall the house worked well for us - there was plenty of room, kids enjoyed playing in the backyard, wifi worked well. The bathrooms are small and show their age a bit, but they were also very clean. There was distinct but faint smell of long-ago cigarette smoke, and a strong smell of febreeze / wall air freshener. I know many people like these, I am sensitive to scents and do not, it was noticeable but not overwhelming. I am sure the hosts will continue to improve this over time.

Needs Improvement

Our stay here wasn't very comfortable. The beds and pillows were too hard, and had a funky mildew smell. The bath towels had the same smell. The front of the house is not warm and welcoming, weeds growing up in the entry walk way and flower beds, debris in the driveway, cobwebs, bugs and spiders in every corner. Maybe they are still working on improvements, but it was clear they started but have not finished. The a/c worked great on the main floor and basement levels, but upstairs where the three bedrooms are was hot and uncomfortable to sleep in. We will not be staying here again. The host was in contact during our stay, but we did not feel comfortable complaining any for fear of retaliation.

Hi Kimberlie, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm genuinely sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations. We strive to provide a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every guest, and it's clear we fell short during your visit. We've already addressed the concerns you mentioned regarding the bedding, towels, and exterior upkeep, and we’re reviewing the A/C performance on the upper level to ensure it stays cool and consistent throughout the home. Guest safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we take any suggestion of guests feeling uncomfortable speaking up very seriously — that’s never the experience we want anyone to have. While I'm disappointed to hear you won't be returning, I appreciate your honesty. Your feedback helps us improve, and we’re committed to making sure the next guest has a much better experience. In the future though please reach out during your stay as we would have been more than happy to address any concerns you had. We strive for 5 star stays for every guest. Sincerely, Nicole Owner, Black River Management
