A cute and neat cabin to spend a short summer vacation. Everything is at hand. It's off busy streets and highways, and you can watch all kinds of animals right at the cabin.
The cabin and location were both perfect for our family of four (wife and two kids - 9 and 7). It's a nice location; close enough to Rutland, Killington, Woodstock and Quechee State Park. It has a real nice, isolated feel, in the hills of Vermont all while being 8 minutes from Singleton's General store which has everything you could need. Thanks for letting us enjoy your place!
Great spot to crash while out adventuring in Vermont
I enjoyed the quaintness of the cabin. It was spring and had the usual fluctuation of temperatures. How nice to put a fire in the wood stove for the chilly evening and rainy day. We used this spot as our landing spot between day bicycle rides. We visited a friend in Springfield and was able to see their work in the local gallery. We were a bit surprised by the long list of rules. The wet towel rule seemed a bit condescending and the threat of leaving any food behindâŠ
We stayed here for a ski weekend at Okemo and loved everything about the little red cabin! The wood stove kept it toasty after a long day in the cold. Highly recommended - hopefully we will be back some day!
The perfect quiet getaway spot! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to relax and getaway before a hectic spring/summer schedule starts. It was amazing.
Only downside is that there wasnât a microwave.
Other than that we canât wait to see when we can come back!
The cabin was well equiped for a cozy relaxing stay in the fall. Located on back roads, the traffic which goes by the cabin is very minimal, and the location gave us a glimpse of Vermont that probably most tourists don't get to see. We used it mostly as a base camp to drive around the state to find the autumn foliage hot spots. But then when it got dark, the cabin living space was very comfortable to wind down for the night in front of the woodstove. I very much would recommend this cabin for anyone who's looking for a quiet place in the mountains.
The listing was accurate as written. Pictures were representative of what we found. The listing does not show the bathroom, which is literally about 5' by 6'. If you are a big person, this will be a sore spot. Don't plan on shaving your legs in the shower.
An easy drive to places of interest and we found the hostess very responsive.
I have learned to not only look at what you see in the listing, but what you don't see.
I would rate this listing as a 4+.
We enjoyed our stay at this quite, cozy, and clean cabin. Surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage, the cabin is a gem! The wood burning fire place made it perfect!
It was quite nice. We went during November. The power went out on us once in the afternoon due to wind and snowfall, but it was working again by morning. I'd recommend preparing for a power outage, just in case; learn how to work the woodstove and have some water handy, etc.
The home was lovely and well taken care of. The one draw back was that we had to read endless lists of directions via the app messages or signs posted on the refrigerator or elsewhere. And some of the directions scolded you like a child. (I.e. not putting wet towels on the floor or bed "Cmon") Really? Threatening extra fees for not stripping the beds or leaving food in the fridge? The atmosphere was really wonderful, but the fear of getting extra fees for some random thing we might have missed... Not conducive to a relaxing get away. The host dealing with some of those things is the cost of doing business. I suggest you communicate everything in one location (except the combination) in advance and respectfully. I didnt want to have to keep checking my app just in case.
Our weekend getaway at the Little Red Cabin was wonderful! We really enjoyed the opportunity to relax outside in the Adirondack chairs and grill our supper outdoors. The area is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a chill vacation.
