It was beautiful and so peaceful with an outdoor seating right next to the stream. Gracious host and called if we had any questions or needed anything. We have already told our friends about our wonderful stay.

Tranquil Retreat

This was the most relaxing space. The yard water feature and yard is gorgeous and you feel completely transported out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Craig was so helpful and nice it felt like staying with an old friend. Can’t wait to come back!

Serene hidden gem!

This was the sweetest VRBO rental I’ve ever stayed at! Simple, clean, comfortable bed and the most beautiful outdoor living space- softly running water features, beautiful landscaping and the kindest owner! It’s like being on a retreat! 10/10- I can’t wait to stay there again!

Excellent home

The property was excellent. The location was super close to everything we wanted to do, and a nice safe neighborhood . Craig the owner was excellent to deal with communicating with us ahead of time to make sure we found the place OK and to let us know if we had any questions to contact him.The patio is truly amazing, great place to relax and have coffee and breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening. After attending a concert one evening we came home and the patio was almost magical with the lighting, water flowing and the plants. We will definitely stay here again if in the area!

The location and amenities were perfect for my stay! The beautiful garden with a stream and many visiting birds create an oasis of calm despite being close to downtown LA.

A slice of heaven

Our stay there was just wonderful. The garden was the perfect spot to unwind after visiting with family and driving in LA traffic. Everything is kept with such care. And the location was perfect. Thank you for letting us stay in your charming home.

Peaceful Paradise

We spent as much time outside in the beautiful backyard garden, with its flowing stream, as we could. It was very restful and all the seating is comfortable. We met the owner Craig, who made us feel relaxed and welcome. We look forward to another booking in our future.

Urban Oasis

Perfectly magical!!

This was the perfect place to stay. The grounds were beautifully maintained along with a water fountain, bubbling brook, comfortable seating, beautiful lighting creating a wonderful serene atmosphere with beautiful views of the mountains and city. Craig, the owner was very gracious to give me a tour of the grounds. I would love to come back and stay at this property again. The cottage was very comfortable providing just what we needed.

Loved it!

This property was just what we were looking for the week leading up to our son’s wedding. It has a cottage feeling inside and the backyard is indeed spectacular! We loved the location and it is very quiet. It was fantastic eating outdoors by the waterfall and pond. So peaceful. We will stay here again! Communication was great!

Simple, quiet and comfortable stay

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cozy space on the lower level of an older home. Off-street parking is available. Craig lives above and is very friendly and responsive. Entrance to unit is at rear of house, where there is a lovely patio area overlooking a beautiful meditation garden, which is very quiet and peaceful.

Perfect for relaxing and getting about

Wonderful property. Yard is magical and so relaxing. We had a barbecue with our grandson and family using the grill and wonderful outside setup. The kitchen is one of the most well equipped kitchens we’ve stayed in. Our host was very helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient to the freeways and stores and restaurants. But once you’re back here you’re in paradise

Fantastic Outdoor Space

We traveled to Glendale to attend the 2025 Rose Parade. We picked this place for its beautiful outdoor space as we were hoping to enjoy a more temperate climate while we escaped the upper midwest winter for a few days. The outdoor space was lovely with all kinds of garden art scattered about. It provided a wonderful view of the mountains off in the distance. The indoor space was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our home base for the parade and other outdoor activities we enjoyed during our stay. As other commenters have noted, the bathroom is rather tiny. But still it had everything we needed. There is easy access to the freeway system and a Ralph's grocery store about a mile or so from the house. We will visit again if we find ourselves in the neighborhood.

Tranquil Delight in the City

My daughter and I stayed at Craig and Barbara’s property over Memorial Day weekend and were thrilled with our decision. Craig welcomed us and made sure we knew that the backyard oasis was for us to use, which we did. While relaxing on the settee by the top pond, we enjoyed mountain views on two sides. Birdwatching was a delight; I’ve never seen so many hummingbirds! We found the kitchen amenities met our needs well. Some meals we cooked but we also enjoyed local restaurants. The location is incredible as it’s easy to hop on the freeway and the grocery store is no more than a three-minute drive. The off-street parking space was also a huge benefit. Thank you, Craig and Barbara! We hope to be back!

Little slice of heaven in the hills of Glendale

Best Part: while the rest of LA swelters in the 90’s, waking up, making a delicious cup of coffee( that the owner has provided) opening the door to the garden and being chilly while taking in the peach and purple tones of the sunrise as it rises over the mountains, breathing in the fresh cool air while listening to the musical trickle of the water falling down through the lush landscaping on the property. A very close second best is the evening delights of the owners generously curated lightscapes that parallel the panorama of twinkling lights from the houses tucked into the surrounding mountains. Worst Part: not having nearly enough time to sit and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the garden- although we did have the opportunity to dine alfresco on our private patio one evening. Craig and Barbara were out of town while we were there, so missed the chance to meet them, but Craig reached out on several occasions to check in and make us feel welcome. We have stayed in many “bare bones” vrbo’s - and this was the opposite experience. The bed and furniture were exceptionally comfortable, and the house was stocked with everything we could possibly need while away from home. Craig has created something very special and obviously derives a great deal of pleasure from sharing it with his guests. We couldn't believe how easy it was to get downtown, and we enjoyed some really fabulous restaurants in the area- I highly recommend Raffi’s. Treat yourself by booking this charming stay!

They immediately responded to my request. Craig sent a detailed text with pictures before we arrived. His directions were super easy to follow. There were a lot of supplies there. I even did laundry. The backyard is a tranquil setting! So relaxing!

We really enjoyed our stay in Glendale. The kitchen and bathroom of the apartment are small but totally workable, for just the two of us. The living room and bedroom are light and airy, and it felt very cozy. The patio gardens are EVERYTHING!! From coffee in the morning to a glass of wine at night, Craig's sanctuary was the perfect space to hang and relax.

Sweet spot for long restful weekend

We spent 3 peaceful days in Craig’s cozy, well equipped casita. The gardens are outstanding as are the outdoor seating areas. Our family also enjoyed two restful afternoons with us.

Rejuvenating Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed getting to stay at Craig and Barbra’s cozy cottage space! It was so thoughtfully curated inside and out. The bed was comfortable, the living room was nice, kitchen well appointed, and we really appreciated that the space was extremely clean and breezy with the windows open. The unit faces the garden backyard which is utterly spectacular and complete with cool views of surrounding city areas and mountains in the distance. Communicating with the hosts was easy and helpful and we hope to get to stay with them again since we had such a great time.
