We 3 found this condo a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay for 4 nights in April. The neighborhood is terrific and offers a lot of Latin restaurants and nearby grocery stores. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub. The metro and national zoo are each a short walk away. Great place!
This apartment is in an ideal location, on a quiet, tree-lined street, in an ideal neighborhood, just steps away from many restaurants, grocery stores, buses, and a short walk to the metro. It is quiet and very comfortable. The host is extremely responsive and quickly resolved an issue that came up. This was our second stay here and we highly recommend it to visitors to DC!
Excellent stay at this vrbo. It was a fantastic location and great space. There are a number of steps down to enter the property, if stairs are a problem for you. The space was very clean and the host was responsive.
The apartment is very cozy with a well stocked and equipped kitchen. Charming patio and garden. The location, in a lively but quiet neighborhood, is great. Immediate attention to needed repair. We had a great stay.
We really enjoyed our visit to DC â about a 10 minute walk to nearby Metro Station. Quite a few restaurants nearby. Was able to park on street nearby. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Beautiful spot. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Lots of other families nearby.
This property is in an amazing location in the Columbia Heights/Mount Pleasant area. Easy access to the metro, great restaurants, nearby, and a cozy spot to come home to after a long day of being a tourist in Washington DC.
This apartment is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood, just steps away from many delicious restaurants, great coffee house (Elle) and ice cream (Mt. Desert), grocery stores, a Saturday farmer's market and an easy, 10 minute walk to the Metro's red line for easy access to all of DC.
The apartment is very comfortable and Kelly has stocked many supplies to use as needed, making the stay ideal.
This is an ideal place to stay when visiting DC!
We traveled for our first family trip to Washington DC. We so enjoyed ourselves! The location is fantastic: out of the city, but close enough to visit the museums and monuments for the day. We had no trouble getting to the metro and catching buses. And in the evening, we could walk a block and have a cocktail on the patio of numerous restaurants before shopping for our evening meal at the local market. Kelly was kind and helpful. She suggested activities and they were perfect! We loved our daily doggie visitors and sitting out back with coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. We hated to leave when our time was over.
We had a wonderful 1-week stay at this place while visiting DC. Although this was a basement unit, it had its own entry way with separate kitchen and living spaces. The owner was very responsive to questions/requests; she lives with her family upstairs from the unit. Nearby very interesting local restaurants with international flavors. Convenient, easy walk to metro & bus stops. We also rented a car for 2 days to reach places that the metro doesn't go to. Overnight parking was not easy to find in the neighborhood but not impossible. Overall, we would highly recommend this rental for traveling families.
Overall, I would recommend this property.
Pros: Convenient location from which to hop on the Metro, so no need to drive into downtown DC; well-furnished, stylish apartment; comfortable beds; well-stocked kitchen necessities; two bathrooms
Cons: Parking is a problem if you're driving in. Luckily, the host was kind enough to let us park in her garage because she happened to be away during the time we were there. It was mostly clean, but there were areas that needed a bit more elbow-grease. There were also open containers/food left in the fridge from previous guests.
Very nice apartment, clean, generously stocked with standard foods and amenities. Quiet and pretty neighborhood, exceedingly convenient to restaurants and local stores, 10 minute walk from either subway or zoo. You can hear the lions roar in the morning! Friendly, responsive hosts live upstairs; only met husband in passing. English basement with nice windows in bedrooms, and a wonderful little outdoor space perfect for morning coffee. Good internet and television. One bedroom is larger and has better ensuite than the other. Noise insulation is poor but hosts are VERY quiet. Overall, an excellent apartment in a wonderful neighborhood buzzing with a vibrant mix young people, immigrants, and families. It's fun to be there.
It was absolutely perfect for two couples visiting DC for a 3 day weekend.
The property was perfect for our purposes. One couple had lived in DC in the last century. The property is in the heart of a thriving neighborhood and easy access to other popular neighborhoods in DC, Adams Morgan, DuPont Circle and others. We used Lyft and Metro buses for transportation. Both worked well. Our primary purpose was visiting museums and the short ride by Lyft to the mall maximized our time in the museums.
The beds were comfortable, the towels were thick and soft. We wanted to use the patio but never seemed to have time. Kelly was accommodating of a couple of special needs we had. She said it was because she and I are from Michigan State, but I believe she just wanted us to enjoy ourselves with the least amount of effort. We did. Next time I visit DC for any reason, I would want to stay in this Amazing apartment in Kalorama, Washington, DC.
* Wi Fi was strong
*washer and dryer was easy to operate
*Patio is covered
*Neighbors were friendly
*Rooms and furniture are comfortable
*voice activated cable TV
I have traveled extensively and stayed in many properties. This was by far our best experience. The accommodations were very comfortable, very clean, and welcoming. The location is a 5 min walk to restaurants, cafes, and a wonderful farmers market on Saturdayâs. The owner, Kelly greeted us to see if we needed any assistance during our stay, set up a parking pass which was wonderful, and was a wealth of local knowledge. We will definitely book again for future visits to DC!
Plenty of room, well equipped, great host. Quiet but then a block away is a lively street with good eats. Liked the outdoor space . we had everything we needed
Peaceful place in an excellent location for everything DC!
I spent the week with my husband and his parents. We were there to sight see mostly. About 10 minute walk to Metro. Excellent food and supplies even closer. Very clean and comfortable. It is in the basement, however the back daylights into a very nice covered patio. Kelly was great. We felt very safe and sound!
My husband and I bought this house in 2016, and decided not to rent the basement, so that we have plenty of space when the grandparents visit! So we left it furnished and with none of our personal clutter, and are happy to share it with travelers who want a nice (and more economical) alternative to a hotel.
