Lovely garden, very nice house, great location, quiet neighborhood
We enjoyed our stay very much. We parked the car and were able to walk to Downtown shopping and to the pier. The house was well kept and clean and offered all amenities.
We enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. The house was in a great location that allowed walking to most of the restaurants and shopping in Bar Harbor. Acadia National Park was a short drive. The house was clean and easily accomodated our group of 4 adults with separate bedrooms and bathrooms and a full kitchen. One of the bathrooms is in the basement down a fairly steep set of stairs but that did not pose a problem for our group. The beauty of Bar Harbor and Acadia is breathtaking. We will be back for a longer visit to explore further.
Lovely well-equipped home convenient to downtown Bar Harbor
My two sisters and I very much enjoyed our 3-day stay in Bar Harbor. We loved being able to walk to the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor, particularly Two Cats restaurant for breakfast all three mornings! The house, including the kitchen, was well-equipped with everything we needed, and we enjoyed spending time in the sweet garden area.
Although the side street is quiet as advertised, the property does abut the busy main road which can be noisy at times with trucks or motorcycles going by. But inside the house remains pretty quiet.
We really enjoyed the time we spent at this property! It's conveniently located within easy walking distance of all downtown attractions, as well as close to entrances to Acadia NP. The house itself reminded me of a classic beach cottage, with cozy rooms and comfortable furniture. It was the perfect size for our group of five. We especially appreciated the second full bathroom in the basement and the ample off-street parking (not always easy to find in Bar Harbor!)
This is a really great place to stay! The house was roomy and comfortable. We had everything we needed during our stay. Loved the outdoor area flowers and sitting areas. Convenient to everything. Will definitely book again if ever in the area.
Our family of six adults loved our stay in Bar Harbor. Quick 5-10 minute walk from downtown, 10 minute drive to Acadia National Park, and no more than 30 minute drive to the rest of the island. Definitely would recommend.
The property was great as promised. We had our 2 adult sons so we all had our own space. It was clean and well stocked. I enjoyed having my coffee out front in the garden. It was a little bit of a walk to town but made it so easy to not have to deal with parking. We walked into town to eat and to have ice cream at the harbor and to catch our whale watching boat. There was a grocery store so we were able to shop and eat at the house some since eating out multiple times a day got expensive. The property was also close to Acadia Natl Park so we did a lot of trips to the park. Overall our visit was great and we would stay here again if we came back.
Loved this historic old and charming home in Bar Harbor. You couldn't get a better location in relation to walking down town and enjoying the park. It would be helpful to know that there is another apartment that is connected to this home. Coming in after dark it was a unnerving, as we didn't realize that the sounds and voices were another place that is attached.
We stayed here for three nights in early August, and appreciated the ease of checking in, parking, and conveniences of home! The house is located on the northern edge of Bar Harbor, making walking into town for dinner, ice cream, or an evening stroll very easy.
The house is within walking distance of everything in downtown Bar Harbor. We went for the 4th of July and the parade went right past the house! Very nice and clean accommodations for 4 of us. Weather was very hot and the house stayed nice and cool with the window air conditioners.
The property is near downtown Bar Harbor, which makes it walkable to the restaurants and shopping within the town. This is a great advantage since trying to drive and park in Bar Harbor can be a challenge during tourist season. The gardens in the front yard are very peaceful. The owners have done a great job decorating the home and were very friendly.
This was an amazing place along with a great location right in the sweet little town Bar Harbor. Acadia National park was only a few minutes away. It was the perfect home for a getaway and the hosts were very kind and willingly to assist in any needs. Defintiely coming back again!

I grew up in Northern Maine but visited Bar Harbor for many years to hike and bicycle. My wife and I met while we were serving in the Maine legislature (she as the representative from Bar Harbor!) and we purchased this home in 2009. I am a real estate attorney and my wife Elsie is the executive director of a public health non-profit. We have two daughters, Fiona, who loves to run and hike as much as we do, and Sylvia born October 2016.
We love the quiet garden, but also love being within walking (or jogging or biking) distance of so much that Mount Desert Island has to offer. It is an easy walk to restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Bike rentals are the next street over. Come visit!
Newly renovated with lovely finished wood throughout, comfy beds and furniture - all for a place to relax from the busy days and nights of activities in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It has all your needs for outdoor grilling or quiet lounging inside and out.
