Amazing location with so much to do in the area. We explored so many different sights all of which were less than 45 minutes in any direction. The beach is a 10 minute walk and the views were amazing. The home was roomy, clean, and had plenty of extra towels and essentials. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and air conditioner to cool the room. The living room and kitchen areas were on the warm side during the day but would cool in the evening with windows open with the ocean breeze.
My daughter graduated high school and wanted to see Maine as a way to celebrate. We spent some time here in Portland and also at another VRBO at Acadia National Park. My husband is 6 foot 7 inches tall, which I forgot as I signed up, so he felt the bathrooms were small. He needs a king size bed, which I also forgot. Everything was clean, decent, as promised. This is a nice, great place to stay, but keep space in mind if you are a bigger, taller person.
We came to Portland to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family. The home is nicely decorated and comfortable. There is an adorable doll house upstairs which our youngest spent hours playing with. The beach is a short five minute walk away. We really enjoyed our time and were quite comfortable during our stay. We appreciate Diana hosting us and all the special touches to enhance our stay.
There was nothing we needed in the house that wasn't provided and there was plenty of room for me and 2 friends. Good location to access downtown Portland, and Willard Beach was an easy walk a couple of blocks away.
Great location, exceptionally clean, and well equipped.
The overall backyard was beautiful and mostly fenced. We might suggest that a smaller portion of the backyard behind the house might be fenced just to keep our dogs from getting out.
We loved our stay in South Portland! We wanted to get away for a few days and the house was perfect for just that! It was so cozy and had everything we could need. Highly recommend!
Diana was friendly and responsive to all inquiries. Her home is cozy and a very short walk to Willard Beach. A daily visit to Willard Scoops was a family favorite!
It was a wonderful home, has everything you need. Quality towels, sheets, and furnishings. Diana was very responsive and accommodating. Do need to inform her if you are bringing a pet. My dog loved the beach during dog hours. A very short walk to the beach. A trip to Scratch Baking is a must, preordered 2 cakes which were delicious. Thanks for a fantastic stay Diana!
Fabulous! Great location, close to everything we needed. House had everything we needed and was just adorable. Loved walking down the street to the creperie and ice cream shop! We would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it!!
Everything you need and could want. The home was welcoming and warm with so many special touches. Our stay was extra special since there wasnât a thing we lacked. Plenty of space - indoors and out, great location (1/2 mile walk to the beach and a lighthouse!), so close to Portland proper, as well as close to the Portland headlight. It was a perfect getaway. Looking forward to another stay here!
Very clean, cozy property. Location is very close to beach and other Maine points of interest like Spring point lighthouse and local bakeries. Know that the house is older and quirky, which is fine for young, nimble people but may be an issue for those who are mobility impaired (steps going down into one of the upstairs bedrooms and up into attached bath.) my mom, with a walker did fine with the first floor bedroom and bath which were level. Overall, very nice and we would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay in South Portland! Tons of things to do. The house is in a great location and is nicely decorated and accommodating. The backyard is beautiful and peaceful. Although we did not cook there, the kitchen was well supplied. We would have given it 5* if the house had air conditioning. Only one bedroom has an a/c unit, otherwise, the place is great.
Excellent large property that was very well suited for a family. Each room had its own bathroom which was fantastic. We ate some meals in and the kitchen was very well appointed and easy to use. Local area is fantastic, highly recommend Willard Scoops for ice cream. Scratch bakery is an absolute must for the bagels. We were visiting family in Portland and had rented a car, there was a spot for parking. Portland is within easy reach. All communication with Diana was prompt, we didn't communicate much as there were no problems! Excellent property, highly recommend.
This is probably our 6th dog friendly rental so far and by far the cleanest. The layout was perfect for us. There's a main floor bedroom in the back with access to the backyard and ensuite bathroom perfect for the older couple with a dog. The area can be closed off with a pocket door. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms with washer and dryer. There's nice play area and lots of toys, very comfortable for a family of four with two small children. The layout gave both families extra space so we didnt feel cramped. Location is close to the beach. Kitchen is well appointed and the dishwasher worked well. We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas.
Magical Maine.
This vacation home was in the perfect location to discover Maine.
There were five of us staying at this property and there was plenty of room and privacy for all of us.
All the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and clean.
The outdoor table in the garden made for a memorable place to eat a meal in the evening.
The house is located a couple of blocks from Willard beach. I would strongly recommend watching the sunrise from this beach.
It was a little cold at that time of the morning but the sunrise was unbelievable.
Plenty to do and see in this part of the world.
We will definitely be coming back.
Our host Diana was very quick to reply to questions I had and also made some great recommendations for our stay.
The house was very nice and the kitchen fully appointed. We really enjoyed the beautiful backyard space - sitting at the table for breakfast and in another area of the patio for appetizers and drinks. There was a big yard to walk our dog in, and tons of gorgeous flowers. We stayed in August during a heat wave and could have used a couple of additional fans - the AC in the master bedroom wasn't very strong or effective. Perhaps because that room opened into a large walk-in closet and the master bath that didn't have any ac. A second bedroom downstairs had no a/c or window fan - only a pedestal fan - so it was toasty. The owners were in an adjacent living space and "around" if we needed anything. The house was within walking distance to a bakery and ice cream parlor which we really enjoyed.
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home. It is very well appointed, clean, had everything we needed, and a lot of room for the 5 of us to spread out. It was close and easy to get to the Portland attractions, and yet set back in a quiet neighborhood very near the beach and lighthouses. Our group was there for a graduation, and we would love to come back again and would definitely stay in this lovely home another time! Thanks, Diana for being responsive to our questions, and thanks for sharing your lovely home.
Our home has belonged to my husbands family for over 100 years. We take pride in the longevity of his families history here. We offer a very comfortable home to relax and explore this beautiful piece of our earth with you. Come explore!
Quiet family friendly neighborhood that encourages walks at night to the local ice cream shop or early morning walks to the local bakery. Or a beautiful stroll on the beach enjoying a gorgeous sunset or sunrise. Truly a wonderful place to recharge and renew.
