The Space

Our home is best described as **beachy farmhouse meets eclectic retreat**, with personalized décor and hand-crafted furniture throughout.

We've designed the space to feel warm, comfortable, and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. Our goal is for you to feel completely at home—not like you're staying in a generic vacation rental.

The home features three bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed. Fresh linens and towels are provided, and the main bathroom is stocked with plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. A convenient half bath is located in the second bedroom.

The living room features a large 65" smart TV and opens to a dedicated workspace and playroom, making the home comfortable for families, couples, and guests who need to work remotely.

And when it's time for coffee, our fully stocked coffee bar is ready to go.

The Backyard

The backyard is where this home really comes to life.

Relax in the private hot tub on the back deck and enjoy the peaceful, open surroundings. With very little light pollution, the backyard is a wonderful place to unwind under the stars after a day of exploring.

The large, fully fenced backyard gives your pups room to enjoy the outdoors with you, while the fire pit provides the perfect spot for s'mores, drinks, and evenings together. Firewood is provided and located by the back gate.

You may also spot the horses and cows on the neighboring property from the backyard.

And if you love a little farm life, you're welcome to visit our chickens and, when available, enjoy some fresh eggs during your stay.

We’re a family originally from Charlotte, NC and Canada, and we now call Whitsett home. In 2018, we packed up and moved to La Paz, Mexico with our young daughter in search of a simpler life and a new adventure. After returning to North Carolina in 2019, we discovered that one of our favorite things—hosting friends and family—could become something we share with travelers too.

We love bringing old homes back to life and giving each property its own unique personality. For us, hosting is about more than providing a place to sleep; it’s about creating a comfortable, relaxing space where people can slow down, make memories, and feel at home.

We’re also a family with kids and a small menagerie of corgis, cats, goats, chickens, and turtles, so we understand that **the whole family comes on vacation**. We strive to make traveling with kids and pets as easy and stress-free as possible.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

What we love most about this property is that you truly get **the best of both worlds**. You’re just minutes from restaurants, stores, shopping centers, colleges, and major highways, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Elon, Burlington, and the surrounding area. Yet once you’re at the house, it feels like you’ve escaped to the country—with no neighboring homes directly beside you.

The fully fenced backyard is one of our favorite features. From the yard, you have beautiful views of our neighbor’s lake, along with cows, horses, and our chickens who occasionally wander around the property. 🐔 They love people, especially when food is involved! If they happen to wander up to the back deck or hang out near the fire pit, you’re more than welcome to give them a little treat.

The backyard is also designed to be a peaceful place to relax. The hot tub, grill, and comfortable seating area are all tucked onto the back deck, creating a cozy and private spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

Because the house is close to Highway 70, we wanted the backyard to feel both **private and comfortable for families and pets**, which is why we made sure it was fully fenced.

And for a little extra fun, there’s a large saucer swing in the front yard that can take you surprisingly high! It’s a favorite for kids—and honestly, adults tend to enjoy it too. 😊

We love that this home feels convenient, peaceful, playful, and a little unexpected. **You can spend the day exploring everything the area has to offer, then come home, soak in the hot tub, watch the chickens wander by, and feel like you’re out in the country.**

What makes this property special is the combination of **country living and incredible convenience**. The property feels spacious and peaceful, with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, yet you’re just minutes from major roads, shopping, restaurants, and everything you might need during your stay.

Forgot something at the grocery store? No problem! **Food Lion is just a 2-minute drive away**, making that last-minute grocery run incredibly easy. ABC is about 5 minutes away, and Harris Teeter, Lowe’s Foods, and Walmart are all roughly 10 minutes away. We know that when you’re traveling, you can’t possibly pack everything, so having the essentials this close makes your stay that much easier.

But our favorite part may be the **privacy**. The hot tub, fire pit, grill, and outdoor seating create a private space where you can relax, hang out, listen to music, laugh with friends, and enjoy the evening without feeling like you’re surrounded by neighbors.

It’s a great place for **family gatherings, a friends’ weekend, a special event, or simply getting away for no particular reason at all.** Come with a plan—or come with no plan. Either way, there’s plenty of room to relax, have fun, and enjoy being together.

**It’s peaceful enough to feel like a country escape, but convenient enough that you’re never far from what you need.**
