Tucked on a on a quiet cul-de-sac street, The Lil John Coastal Cottage is behind the main rental duplex and is accessed by a coral rock & solar light lined path that leads to it under an Oak tree. The cottage offers a charming blend of comfort and convenience, with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, and grocery stores, all within walking distance. Please note: reservation rates are based on double-occupancy. See details below

As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a warm and inviting living space, thoughtfully designed with updated dĂ©cor and modern amenities. The living room features a comfortable seating area with a sofa and queen sized pull out bed (Feel free to bring the kids or another person with this space) and a large Roku TV, perfect for movie nights or relaxing after a day at the beach.

The bedroom boasts a new queen-sized bed with a reclaimed wood-pallet headboard, dressed in soft hotel-style sheets and bedding. Upscale window shades ensure you can sleep in if needed. A dresser and closet provide ample storage, keeping your space organized throughout your stay. There is also a full length mirror to help you look your best each day.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals at home, including an electric convertible range, microwave (with combo convection oven), and a coffee bar complete with a Keurig coffee maker, k-cup pods, a 5 cup drip coffee maker, and ground coffee. The kitchen is also stocked with pots, pans, plates, and essential pantry items, so you’re ready for anything, whether cooking at home or packing for a beach day.

The newly updated and upgraded bathroom is small but adequate and features a new vanity, mirror, lighting and walk n shower with a rainfall shower head coming from the ceiling

The Outdoor Space

The Cottage is located in the backyard of the main rental house, which is a duplex, one side is 1837 - The Robinhood Beach Villa, the other side is 1839 - The Nottingham Beach Bungalow. The backyard is shared with other guests (firepit, grill), but most of our guests spend their time out enjoying the beach and Sarasota!

The screened-in porch is an ideal setting for enjoying your morning coffee or evening meals, while the fire pit and seating area offer a tranquil space for relaxing under the stars while you BBQ on the provided dedicated charcoal BBQ grill or use the shared propane gas grill in the shared backyard.

🐕 Looking for a place to bring your fur babies and pets? Dogs under 50lbs are allowed to stay here with you! (1 pet per stay) 🐕 Take them to the dog beach in Venice for a fun-filled day in the sun! 🌞 Pet fees apply.*

Speaking of heading to the beach! We also provide beach chairs for 2, a beach umbrella, and an ice chest tote for you to enjoy a day at the beach, whether it's World-famous Siesta Key Beach, Lido Beach, Longboat, Beer Can Island or Anna Maria Islands, Holmes Beach & Bean Point!

Step outside to enjoy the large, fenced yard - a perfect spot for your furry friends under 50lbs to play safely, the yard is fully fenced in with our new gates on each side of the front duplex. In the shared backyard, we have a propane gas BBQ grill, and a fire-pit with chairs for you to use.

We also recently added an outdoor dining table with blue umbrella and seating for 4 (not pictured yet) for cottage guests to use.

*Additional charges are incurred on all guest reservations over 2 guests (as extra guests charges (this is because the 2nd bed is a pull out sofa and the unit will require more cleaning) - *see details on charges when setting the total number of guests upon booking). Feel free to message for more details.

Important: Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will also be given the choice between a security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. There is also a separate rental agreement that is sent for e-signing.

We have regular pest treatments performed both inside & outside the units. We also personally, utilize bait, traps and sprays to keep these insects outside where they belong. Please don't keep windows without screens or doors open too long as you nay inadvertently let some inside. Should you come across any pests during your stay, please make us aware so we can address the situation. While it's rare to come across these pests inside, a refund will not be offered for the occasional occurrence. We always want you to be comfortable during your stay and you will find that we act quickly and with compassion to resolve any issues you have. We just need to be aware of it in order to resolve anything. ***

For bookings after December 17, 2024: As an Integrated Property Manager within the VRBO OTA platform, our cancellation policy on VRBO is set to Strict through our Property Management System (PMS), Uplisting, and we can only set 1 policy in that system which syncs to VRBO. (Reservations before December 17, 2024 may have a different cancellation policy set such as Firm or Relaxed. Your VRBO booking conïŹrmation will have the listed cancellation policy that applies to your booking if you booked prior to December 17th 2024). All bookings after December 17th 2024, will show "Strict" listed as the cancellation policy on our booking confirmation page that is sent to you via a link in an email after booking and its also on your VRBO booking confirmation. The Strict cancellation policy only applies to January through April in our custom seasonal cancellation policy. Additionally, our refund policy also differs in that we are unable to offer a 100% refund for any bookings because payment processing fees are charged by Stripe on the initial payment made by the guest. The location was exactly what I was looking for, close to beach and shopping. There were a few issues which, when corrected, would allow a “5 star” rating. Wi-Fi went out mid day every day, the washer stops mid cycle, the stove burners didn’t fit causing pans to tip, and the glass plate in the microwave didn’t fit and would not rotate.

Very cute and well-stocked place! Super clean. VERY responsive host. There were so many thoughtful little touches that made the stay go smoothly like hooks placed in just the right spots and little signs to guide you through the place. The host is also very receptive to feedback for constant improvement, which is evident in all those little details. Has a nice yard area and a clothes washer and dryer. Just know that this is a BACK HOUSE, so enter through the side gate and through the backyard rather than the front doors of the units. Great find!

The stay at the lil john coastal cottage was great. It was exactly as described and had everything provided that was listed. It was clean and well stocked and had everything I needed. There was coffee provided and even some breakfast items. The Wi-Fi was fast and allowed me to stream movies at night and work during the day. The cottage is located in the backyard of a main duplex so it's a shared space but it was peaceful and quiet. The screened in front porch was a nice feature and I enjoyed my coffee in the mornings there. There was also a stacked washer and dryer on the front patio which was great to have. They even supply laundry detergent and dryer sheets for use. Check in with very easy as there are detailed instructions sent prior to arrival along with a digital welcome guide app that gives you alot of info on the unit and the area. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma but lived in Maui, Hawaii before moving to Sarasota to be close to my parents who retired in Lakewood Ranch area. We love the area we live in and enjoy the beaches, sunsets and sunrises, boating, the nightlife, arts and culture that Sarasota and Bradenton have to offer. Have questions? Reach out! Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and has families and multi-generational residents. Its walkable to restaurants and Trader Joes grocery. It is also very close to Siesta Key and the beach but far enough away to not worry about most storms and flooding. Its important to understand that its a privilege to stay in a residential neighborhood when on vacation, holiday or while working remotely or otherwise. Please be respectful of neighbors and observe quiet hours. Complaints will be dealt with by warning and then asking you and your guests to leave if repeated complaints occur

The property is a triplex. Technically, a duplex in the front with 2 units for rent and a cottage in the backyard. The backyard is a shared space and is gated for safety of pets. It was built in 1939 and has unique features and charm.
