À propos de cet hébergement
Casa Fitz in Tesuque
Majestic home located on five acres, with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the east and the Tesuque Valley to the north.
This property includes a 4,000 sq. ft. main house and a 600 sq. ft. casita/guest house; each also includes a spacious, covered and furnished porch. The two houses are separate and private, each with views and parking.
Designed by preeminent Santa Fe architect, Steve Robinson, and built as a private family enclave in 2004, Casa Fitz is now available for guests to share in the wonder. No detail or expense was spared to achieve quintessential Santa Fe design: thick adobe walls, brick floors, Mexican tile, vigas, and ornamental fireplaces. The Territorial-style architecture evokes an old New Mexico hacienda with a warm, modern touch.
The main house features two bedrooms with 2.5 baths and a dream kitchen with a cozy breakfast nook, plus a large sala/living space, tv room/library, spacious office (with new spin bike), and a gracious portal/covered patio overlooking a flower garden and views of the Sangre De Christo mountains.
From the main house entry, you are greeted with a formal hall filled with Santa Fe folk art and Milagros which welcome you into the grand Sala (living space) with access to the fabulous portals. The open living room/dining room (sala) is ideal for entertaining amid the owners’ private art collection. Vaulted beam ceilings frame the cozy seating area around a large fireplace, surrounded by contemporary artworks by notable New Mexico artists, folk art, and Indian pottery.
Each of the two private bedroom suites in the main home features a queen bed and private bath. The owner’s suite offers a spectacular view of the rising sun and mountains and access to the portal. There is a deep window seat, vigas and a kiva fireplace for ornamental enjoyment only. The bath is equipped with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and classic Mexican tile. An oversized walk-in closet is available. There is a mini split air conditioner and ceiling fan to cool the master suite. The guest bedroom has a charming wooden sleigh bed, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, and a private Mexican tiled bath with a tub shower.
The library is situated between the bedrooms and serves as a media room as well as a gallery of pots, books, and southwestern delights to enjoy. There is a brand new memory foam queen sized sofa bed for the occasional overnight guests.
The well-equipped kitchen is a cook’s dream. The dishes, glassware, and accessories include authentic classic-pieces from Mexico and high-end Santa Fe boutiques. A center island with a refinished butcher block top provides ample counter space for cooking and entertaining. There is access from the kitchen to the portal and a gas grill.
The office has spacious built-in wooden desks, with two dedicated work spaces, and magnificent views of the mountains. There is a ceiling fan and a mini split air conditioner for the occasional warm summer day.
The charming casita, just a short stroll from the main house, features two bedrooms, a full bath, seating area, and a kitchenette equipped with a mini-fridge and cooktop. One bedroom has twin beds and the other a queen bed. The views from the casita’s portal (with new table and chairs) may be the best on the property.
The entire property is what every visitor to Santa Fe asks for: glorious views, charm, and privacy.
Due to family allergies, no cats are permitted. One dog (hypo-allergenic, non-shedding) may be allowed upon owners’ approval.
