Absolutely wonderful property in the perfect location. Great living space to entertain and the bed was very comfortable. We brought our 2 dogs and upon arrival, another dog was loose in the yard so be mindful if bringing your fury friends if they like to be alone. The owner lives upstairs and I believe other guest use the property as well as there were several folks just outside our door in the yard so also be mindful of the shared spaces. Overall a fantastic find.

Mixed feelings
We came to watch my husband graduate. We brought our service dog and babies. My in-laws came with us and they unexpectedly brought their dog. Considering the place was advertised as âdog friendly,â I didnât think it would be an issue. We did pay the pet fee, although the owner charged us for our service dog too. The owner made a big and repeated deal about the dogs, including letting her pit bull mix out repeatedly to come into the area we rented. It became such an issue that my in laws left early, taking the dogs with them. Considering their son was graduating, that was pretty sad for us. My daughter was jumped on repeatedly by the ownerâs dog, leaving claw marks on her(sheâs 3). This is NOT a dog friendly place; even if a dog is âsocialized,â it is not acceptable to share a dog space with an ownerâs animal without advertising it as such. The house is really sweet and eclectic but it really only has two beds, it does not sleep 6. The kitchen is cute but only has a camp stove so if you plan to cook, you should plan on minimal food preparation. The bathroom has been redone and is lovely but the doorknob is missing the screws so my toddler actually got locked in and wet herself because she was scared. For the crazy expensive price we paid, the drug paraphernalia we found on the porch, and the interruptions by the owner, I wish weâd have stayed in a hotel.
Property is exactly like pictures show. Comfortable beds and couch, huge kitchen table that can convert to a ping pong table. Host was helpful and communicative. Had the essentials, nothing more. Would stay again if in Durham.
I have lived in Durham for the last fifteen years. My three children were raised here and are now inching towards being on their own! I love hosting because I am an interior designer and have so much fun creating beautiful spaces!
Our property is special because of its large gathering space & private backyard. A lovely space for a family to relax and rejuvenate between events in the area.
