Newly Renovated Wooded Oasis & Spa Near OU's Campus in Athens

Relax in the hot tub & enjoy this recently renovated space nestled in an acre of woods. Ideally located just a ½ mile walk to the edge of campus, you’ll feel right at home in the lower level of our family home decorated and supplied with love and care. Cook in the charming kitchen, sit or spa outdoors, rest in the cozy bedroom, relax or watch TV in the living room & office with a gas fireplace and plenty of natural light. Includes washer/dryer & sleeps 5 with queen & twin foldouts.

Our home is just a one mile walk to the heart of campus yet feels remote in a neighborhood of just six homes surrounded by woods. You'll stay in the completely private walkout basement of our family home, complete with a kitchen, full bathroom and laundry, a patio with outdoor dining, and a backyard staircase for easier access to Richland Avenue. We have a large, open yard, a climbing dome, swings, and playground equipment to keep your kids active.

There are up to three parking spots available right outside our home. A very beautiful, comfortable space year-round, there are windows in every room with a view of an acre of forest. We've put a lot of love and care into making your space special and comfortable. We are just a message away and often right upstairs if you need anything at all.

Given you'll be staying in the lower level of our family home, we do require you share the purpose of your visit as a safety precaution. When you book, please be sure to include a note about what brings you to visit Athens. Thanks and we look forward to hosting you!

A truly stunning rental that is conveniently located! We couldn’t have asked for anything better! Communication was wonderful and very timely. The space is beautiful and so well appointed! We even had an added bonus of a hot tub being added right before our arrival! We will definitely be back!

The place was clean and nice, location was ideal, but the listing said it was a full house but it was more like a downstairs addition to the host’s home. Could use some window coverings, but otherwise was very neat - nice outdoor seating areas featuring clear night skies and some deer visitors.

We really enjoyed the stay. It was close to town and everything we needed. We were moving our daughter into the dorms at OU and the location was great. Host was very nice. We will definitely stay here again.

Great little spot for friends to get away and visit Athens! We visited and walked to uptown because it was so nice out. Very clean and cozy spot. Would recommend to others! Hosts were very responsive too.

The place was spacious and clean. As someone who travels a lot and likes to prepare my own meals, this kitchen was the best. Gas range ,quality cookware and utensils.

Athens Trip

Very clean place, I struggled with the parking and access. Very limited parking and difficult to park after dark, it was difficult to maneuver. This is the basement, you have to walk around the side of the house, steps were very slippery in the rain and it was very dark at night. Also I recommend curtains be put up in the main area and the bathroom window, kind of spooky at night with no curtains to close.

not what I would’ve hoped for

We got there and it was dark, and it was quite difficult to maneuver our way down the steps which was poorly lighted with no railing to the entryway. Unfortunately, the house smells like mildew. The kitchen is pretty and well appointed. It bad situation wasn’t exactly what I had thought. There were fold down chairs.

Guest safety and comfort are very important to us, and we took your comments seriously. Since your stay, we’ve added additional lighting along the stairwell to improve visibility and ease of access. To address humidity concerns, we now run a standalone dehumidifier alongside the system integrated into our central air conditioning during more humid months. We appreciate you noting that the kitchen was well appointed, and we value all feedback as it helps us continue improving the experience for future guests. We have lived in Athens for over ten years and work at OHIO UNIVERSITY. We have a four and one year old sons, and love our unique Athens community. We are also very active and spend many evenings running on the bike path and trails, hiking The Ridges, and exploring Bailey's, Hocking Hills & the surrounding region.

Less than a mile walk to the heart of OHIO UNIVERSITY (Baker Center) and Uptown Athens, our space allows you to leave your car and explore the surroundings. We look forward to meeting you.
