Un endroit idéal pour un couple de passer un moment de détente, semaine tranquille sur la côte.

Situé dans le village de pêche historique de Prospect, perché sur le bord de l'océan Atlantique - où les vagues se brisent, des rochers de granit et de la faune vous entourent.

Ouvrez la porte et vous êtes juste à quelques pieds du bord de l'océan. Profitez de la vue sur l'océan de toutes les fenêtres de la maison.

Restez à l'intérieur et regarder le reflux de la marée et de flux à partir d'une chaise confortable ou aventurez-vous pour l'un des nombreux côtière-trail ou en terres randonnées. Ne pas oublier votre appareil photo, vous verrez la beauté dans les paysages étonnants et une faune abondante. Admirez comment les plantes et les arbres sont attachés à la côte de granit exposés.
Plus d'infos sur les oiseaux? Vous serez en mesure d'ajouter de nombreuses espèces d'oiseaux côtes et des océans à votre liste. Oiseaux font souvent une halte dans notre arrière-cour pendant leurs migrations à l'automne et au printemps. L'hiver apporte une abondance de canards du Nord.

Apportez vos kayaks ou louer à partir d'un pourvoyeur local - les lancer à partir de la rampe dans votre arrière-cour et d'explorer certaines des meilleures côtes de kayak dans l'Est du Canada - naufrages, les îles et les phares désertes attendent pour vous faire découvrir.

Marshwind est parfait pour un couple qui cherche à sortir de tout cela et profiter un peu de paix au bord de la mer - tout en étant assez proche de tout pour des excursions vers les attractions de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

En 2012 Marshwind, a été utilisé comme lieu d'implantation pour le film Hallmark 'de Noël avec le houx.

Peaceful Prospect

We loved our time at Marshwind in Prospect. The house was spotless and was equipped with everything we needed. The views of the marsh and the bay are spectacular! We love sitting outside having coffee in the morning and meals later in the day. We were perfectly situated where we could explore Peggy's Cove and Halifax and other surrounding places without having to drive very far. If you are looking for a peaceful stay while being surrounded by water, this is the place to visit.

Marshwind is a lovely property in the midst of quaint little village. Meagan and Scott are excellent hosts and kept in touch to make sure everything was going smoothly . The accommodations were nice and clean, comfy beds and all essentials needed for meal planning and prepping. I would highly recommend a stay at Marshwind. You will not be disappointed!!

A slice of heaven

Our collective blood pressure dropped 30 points when we walked in the door to what could easily be characterized as a "coastal paradise". The listing was true and accurate, the owners informative and hospitable, the home immaculate and even the neighbors (which can sometimes resent seasonal intruders) were welcoming and sharing of their knowledge of the area. A beautiful place to be sure... we wish had more time to spend.

Meagan and Scott do a fantastic job as hosts. The property is so picturesque and the village is like something from a movie. Watching the changes in the weather and tides are fascinating. Could not recommend this property more highly. We had a wonderful time.

Lovely Stay

A lovely cottage with a great view of the cove, with tides and assorted wildlife in view. The cottage had excellent amenities. Very quiet and easy access to area sites.

Beautiful and relaxing!

This place had a great location too! Centrally located for all the local tourist attractions. Super cute home, very clean and well stocked with basic supplies. Host was quick to respond to our inquiries and had great advice for the local beach! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Prospect Village is exceptional . Marshlands truly peaceful . Great kayaking in entire area. Some good hiking very near by. Excellent hiking with pretty fantastic view of ocean & islands at reserve Polly Cove near Peggy’s Cove. House is great for people who can easily do flights of stairs. Owners very helpful.

This was a beautiful property situated on a quiet street populated by deer! The house had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed watching the tide come in and out daily from the back porch. Sunset is across the way, and worth the trip! Communication with Meagan was easy and timely. The views from the kitchen and bedrooms were spectacular! We hope to stay again!

South Shore Getaway

Property is in very close proximity to the South Shore attractions and gems as well as Halifax. The kitchen is well equipped; we did not need for anything. We arrived to a full blown Atlantic storm (thanks for the heads up Meagan). The storm door was a little tricky to manage the first couple of nights, slamming in the wind. We quickly learned to bolt it closed when we were at the house. Beautiful trails right outside the door. All in all, our stay made for a relaxing South Shore getaway.

Quiet stay in a beautiful location

Prospect Village is at land's end, where one can observe the tides come and go in their infinite variation, the land and diverse wildlife beautifully integrated. I particularly enjoyed the fog and all its mystery and stillness. The house was spacious and refined, the kitchen well equipped. Very comfortable sleeping. Easy access to the city and other parts of Peggy's Cove area. A good home base for more adventuresome day trips as well. We had a memorable time exploring near and far. All greatly appreciated! It would be a great pleasure to return.

A beautiful stay in Prospect Bay!

This cottage was immaculate and inviting. Every room had something unique to offer for relaxation or recreation. Every window had a view of the stunning and tranquil surroundings. The sunny days were vibrant and alive. The foggy or rainy days were charming and inspiring. Local residents were friendly and hospitable. We'd love to stay again!

Absolutely stunning home for our week long holiday. Everything we needed was provided by our wonderful hosts. Beautiful views from every window, but especially from the back deck. The bedrooms were spacious, and the beds were amazing to sleep on. Highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Nova Scotia to stay at Marshwind as it was such a perfect, peaceful and welcoming home. The location was great and so wonderful to come home to after a long day of sightseeing.

Prospect Vacation

We absolutely loved our stay at Marshwind. It is a beautiful house and property with everything you could need. We loved early mornings looking out over the water and the coastal hike was great! Meagan provided many helpful suggestions which we were able to take advantage of. We were able to easily travel to Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove, as well as to Halifax for supper one evening. This was our first trip to the East Coast and our holiday was wonderful thanks in large part to our stay at Marshwind. We would love to stay again and would not hesitate to recommend to others!

Comfort, serenity, and oh those views!

My husband and I had a wonderful week at Marshwind. Beautifully situated on a quiet cove with great views of the marsh out the back (complete with terns, ducks, and busy little crabs) and the Atlantic out front. The house itself is a beautiful remodel of an old house with all the modern amenities but still retaining the coastal fisherman's vibe. Waking to sunrise in the master bedroom (no blinds on the big window) and the amazing view was not a problem for me, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea. We lived in the kitchen and on the back deck and loved the view from the computer nook on the 2nd floor! Nova Scotia recycling took a bit of study but happy to do our part in keeping NS so clean. While not exactly remote (only 20 minutes to Halifax) if you're looking to be at the center of the action, look elsewhere. Here it was all about the sea, the marsh, a good hiking trail, picturesque views, a few good books, and glasses of NS wine--which you can pick up in one of the few local stores (and by local I mean 6 miles down the road). Everything here is comfortable and clean and really a wonderful location for some respite from a crazy world. The fog can be T-H-I-C-K in the mornings and take quite a few hours to burn off, but 5 miles down the road you'll have clear blue skies. I kept thinking what a great spot it would be for a weeklong retreat with the girls. I hope to return some day and highly recommend this beautiful spot.

We fell in love with Prospect Bay & this beautiful house!

Our family loved this house & this area for so many reasons I don’t think I can accurately review all the reasons why. The first thing that was exceptional was how accommodating and flexible Meagan was with our reservation. We live in Ottawa and needed a place to quarantine for 2 weeks if we were allowed to come to NS to visit family. Meagan was kind enough to allow our booking knowing we may not be able to come to NS until just a few days before our arrival date due to strict Covid 19 rules for travel . Luckily our dates worked as restrictions lifted in time for our trip. The house is simply gorgeous , the view from the house truly is like a painting . It literally takes your breath away. The house is a perfect blend of historic and modern with all the comforts of your own home. The kitchen has tons of dishes & everything else you would need for cooking a family meal. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 which includes our 22, 24 & 27yo children . Some of us were in need of workspace during our 2 week stay and found the internet handled our needs very well. Meagan was even kind enough to pick up a grocery order for us as we were not sure if we would be able to go to the store until we received back our negative COVID tests. I would love to return to this beautiful property on another visit to NS. Thank you for an incredible stay!!

Could not have been more ideal for our family!!!

After reading this review, one might think we are old friends/family/promoters of the owners but we have only had the pleasure of meeting them now. For anyone seeking peace, tranquility, relaxation as well as much fun and adventure as anyone might desire, this is hands down the place! We already have recommended it to many. Book early!!! First, the owner Meagan has been absolutely wonderful in her warm welcoming hospitality and very helpful tips and recommendations. The home has clearly been a labour of love for the family and the warmth and peace of the place had my husband and two daughters (12 and 17) breathe a sigh of relief even before stepping through the door. It is located in a picturesque and quintessentially friendly little fishing village, on the tranquil bay side with the magnificent ocean across the street. It was a very short drive (25ish minutes) to either Halifax or Peggy's Cove with all their amenities, yet as private and remote as a weary traveller may yearn for. The simple and very tasteful décor had a soothing effect on us all. The home itself was generously appointed with anything one might reasonably wish for with a clean lovely modern kitchen, laundry, etc. The views from almost any part of the home were magnificent, particularly the kitchen/sitting area which offered a panoramic view of the bay with the ever-moving tides and wildlife of sea birds, deer, crabs, and fish. At high tide we kayaked among the grasses with curious deer approaching us. The bedrooms (w/ comfy bed!) offered lovely views of the bay and the ocean side through picture windows and skylights. A third floor loft offered a perfect getaway and more lovely views and even more sitting/sleeping areas. We were blessed during our stay of a combination of cool/wet weather (12C in July) which forced us to reconnect, relax, play games and read in the comfort of a gas fireplace and electric heating, then dry sunny 24C-ish days that had us out kayaking and exploring the incredible coast and tidal pools from the trail just up the street where we saw some of the most gorgeous sunsets of our lives. Not having experience the Canadian east coast before, we now 'get' Lauren Harris and his passion for the beaten-smooth landscapes. When we didn't feel like cooking, it was a short drive to restaurants that pleased both the meat lovers and seafood fanatics of our family. The nearby towns of Peggy's Cove, Chester Mahone Bay and Lunenberg were a treat for the senses.

Heaven on earth

This was our second stay at this wonderful property and if we could rate it higher than a 5, we definitely would! It is clean, perfectly appointed and tastefully decorated. And that would be enough to give it a 5 star rating. But oh, the views!! From every room of the house!! The darling little fishing village of Prospect Bay is idyllic. Straight out of a novel. And the neighbors were delightful! Just a hop and a skip from great restaurants in Halifax and Peggy's Cove. We drove 2+ days each way to stay here for 7 days. 5 days of driving for a 7 day stay. And it was worth every mile. Just wish we had longer. But thankful for the time we had! Thank you Meagan and Scott for sharing this beautiful spot!

Peaceful sanctuary

We had a wonderful stay at Marshwind! So peaceful in a small welcoming community. Astonishing walk along the coast to see the sunset, not far from all we needed. The house is well equiped for everything we needed and the communication with Meagan and Scott super efficient. We really appreciated our stay!

Prospect Village is simply magical. We had lived in the Village for several years and knew that we never wanted to leave.
We jumped at the chance to buy this 150 year old Fisherman's Cape home and then proceeded to bring it back to life. We restored it's original charm with an architectural flair and updated it with modern, eco-friendly conveniences.
Living in Prospect is like living in a wildlife park - with the ocean just steps from the home, you can sit back with your tea and watch wildlife in their natural enviroment. If you want to get a bit closer to the action - there are several coastal & in-land hikes

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

This home gives a rare glimpse into the past - when you first arrive in the Village, you will feel like you have stepped back in time as many of the homes have mantianed their original designs.
Nature is all around you - bird lovers will enjoy spotting Eagles, Herons, Willets, rare shore birds and coastal ducks to name a few.

In 2012 Marshwind was featured as a key location in the Hallmark movie 'Christmas with Holly', using shots from both the inside and outside of our home. Many movies have been shot in our beautiful village over the years.
