We stayed over the 4th of July. Cottage is on Bar Lake which was a super quiet and secluded location. Cabin was clean and had all the essentials.
Overall, the place could use a little fixing up in areas but the location and price make it a great deal!
Lisa was wonderful to work with during booking and throughout our stay. We would definitely consider staying here again.
Lisa was great to work with. The location was great. The backyard looks on to Bar Lake. Lake Michigan access was just down the drive and across the street.
The cottage had what we needed for our getaway. It didnt have air conditioning, but the cottage was offered at a good price.
Perfect for a family or a couple with a great location and great price. The cottage has 3 bedrooms with a futon in the living room. The deck has seating for 4 around the table and has a lovely quiet view of Bar Lake. You can watch the sunrise on Bar Lake, (see picture with other of cottage) and the sunset on Lake Michigan. The cottage is tucked around a wooded corner off Lake Shore Drive so you have quick access to the public beach on Lake Michigan but also privacy and a wooded area. You have access to an old fishing boat to use on Bar Lake. The cottage has a gas grill, full kitchen and washer and dryer. It is located just 5 minutes from the beautiful Manistee River walk and 1st and 5th Street Beaches. Both 1st and 5th Street Beach have pavilions with food, showers and bathrooms. Check the Manistee Tourism Guide to see the many festivals, hiking and beaches. There cottage is also 5 minutes from the casino and 5 minutes 1st and 5th street beaches. You can drive up scenic M-22 to have dinner at Arcadia Bluff Golf Restaurant or continue onto Frankfort.
The cottage is across the street from a small public beach on Lake Michigan. There are hiking trails within walking distance of the cottage and several public access paths to Lake MI. The back deck offers a quiet and lovely view of Bar Lake and is surrounded by trees. The cottage is only 5 minute drive from First Street and Fifth Street Beach. It is too weedy to swim on Bar Lake but you can swim across the street in Lake Michigan.
