Descendez notre allée privée, ouvrez la porte Olas et vous trouverez une hacienda de style mexicain avec une fontaine circulaire entourée de jardins verdoyants et vous aurez votre premiÚre vue spectaculaire sur la piscine et l'océan. Il est votre merveille de vacances privée.
Entrez dans notre maison par de lourdes portes en bois. Vous avez un atrium coulissant en verre avec des plantes, une fontaine murale, une table ronde en béton et des escaliers circulaires menant à la zone de repos recouverte de palapa.
Le salon principal avec sa vue imprenable sur l'océan comprend un salon / salle à manger spacieux et une grande cuisine séparée qui dispose de tous les outils nécessaires à votre chef cuisinier. L'immense suite parentale climatisée avec ventilateurs de plafond comprend un salon, salle de bain et lit king size moderne. Réveillez-vous et voir le lever du soleil avec le café au lit. Une suite deuxiÚme chambre climatisée dispose d'un lit queen et grand bain récemment rénové. Surprise, la troisiÚme chambre à coucher climatisée est comme une villa privée appelée casita. style mexicain conçu avec des carreaux de talavera détaillée, la suite est seulement six étapes à la porte de la maison principale avant et une douzaine à la piscine.

We try to visit Isla annually and stay in a house near Punta Sur. The views of the Caribbean were stunning, the house was well equipped, and the check-in and check-out were seamless. Highly recommend Casa De Las Olas to anyone visiting Isla.

Quiet elegance

Facing east the property has glorious water views and spectacular sunrises. Even though there are other properties next door, the whole area is quiet and lush with flora. The house is bright and homey and very comfortable.

A perfect location for a family get away

We loved our stay at Casa de las Olas on Isla. It’s a fantastic getaway. The house was exactly as described, and the ocean views from the back and the pool were so relaxing. The ocean breeze really kept us cool throughout the day and night, and if we needed a little extra chill, there’s AC in the bedrooms as well! There is also a lovely atrium in the middle of the house, and stunning views from the rooftop. Before we arrived, Dave and Janet, the homeowners, contacted us several times with helpful tips about the house, fun activities on the island, their favorite restaurants, and transportation options. They went above and beyond by stocking the home with some breakfast goodies, wine, beer, coffee, and snacks—such a thoughtful touch that you don’t find with many homeowners. The caretakers were incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We absolutely loved the home, and would highly recommend this place.

Casa de Awesome!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa de las Olas. We had everything we needed. It is a beautiful house in a perfect spot in Isla. Its close enough to everything but you are away from the crowds downtown. The plants and trees are amazing, the pool area is relaxing, the kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. The hosts even left some grocery items, wine and beer as a welcome package. We loved our stay and if we come back to Isla will stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect getaway

We enjoyed Casa De las Olas for a week. 4 women for a girls trip. The house was as wonderful as advertised. We enjoyed the pool cabana, the beach side porch in the morning, and the roof top deck in the evening. The kitchen was very well stocked for everything we needed. The beds were very comfortables with nice linens. The property management was available for anything we needed and very responsive. The host gift of snacks and eggs and cheese and beer was perfect on arrival. They also provided water and the golf cart rental from Julian could not have been easier. It was wonderful and I would definitely book this house again.

Beautiful home with amazing view

This is a beautiful property. Our issue is that there is not AC in the main areas and it is truly a hot box. We spent a lot of time in the casita and the bedrooms. I would recommend having TVs in the bedrooms since there is not AC in the main areas. The house has an pest control problem and there are ants everywhere. I would recommend monthly or more pest control service. The casita is perfect, the view off the back patio is beautiful. We felt safe even with the trail that runs behind the house. I would only stay here again if AC is installed in the main area. Communication was great and I did appreciate that there were eggs, bacon, orange juice and milk as well as snacks.

Viva Mexico

This house is so Authentic Mexico. It's absolutely adorable. You truly feel like you are part of their beautiful culture as soon as you walk in the door. The rooms have the textured cement walls, Mexican tiles, a great outside atrium with a waterfall and plants. The pool was the perfect temperature to swim day and night. Owners contacted me a couple of times before I arrived with the house information & Caretakers left us some breakfast food, coffee & tea and snacks (very few VRBO are that generious).There is a AMAZING view of the ocean and was a wonderful breeze so we ate meals outside. But one of the coolest things to me was the Mayan Ruins are less then 1/2 mile away and if you walk up to the 3rd floor sitting area you can see them. The house does get hot during the day but as soon as you open all the windows (yes all windows and doors have screens) there was a great cross breeze (In May) and the A/C work great in the rooms. We had a wonderful time there and throughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks Dave, Janet & Lupita

Fabulous views from the back porch

We loved this property and it’s location. It’s much quieter on the south end and we liked that. I could have sat on that back porch for days! The breezes coming in really helped to cool you off. We really struggled with the lack of a/c in the main house though. The bedrooms have a/c, but the main part does not due to the atrium. Also since it was so warm out in the main area, having tvs in the bedrooms would have been nice. Also there are so many steps/stairs in this house so if you have any mobility issues like me, just be aware. I managed to survive not falling until the night before we left. And I totally messed up my ankle all over again. Otherwise, it’s a great property! I think if we had visited in a cooler month, we would have enjoyed it much better. According to the locals, July / August / September are the hottest months so plan accordingly.

A Very Special Place

My husband and I have visited Isla Mujeres several times, but this was our first time staying on the south end of the island. We were looking for a private, quiet, and peaceful retreat and boy did we find it! Casa de las Olas is simply perfect. The house is a wonderful oasis and feels very much like a private resort. It was delightful to be able to stroll the grounds and admire all the beautiful plants and flowers after an “exhausting” day of trying to decide which parts of the house to enjoy. On the stunning seafront porch, you have multiple seating options and we took advantage of the hammock, loungers, and booth every day. The rooftop deck area was quite windy when we were there thanks to Hurricane Iota breezing several hundred miles to the south, but we did make almost nightly visits up to admire the stars. The atrium was a lovely place to relax while my husband grilled dinners and the pool area was just wonderful. We spent most of our days lounging in (or near) the pool taking full advantage of the tranquility. The house itself was very clean and very comfortable. We loved waking up in the morning and opening the windows throughout the living area to let in the breezes. From our initial inquiry to communications after we departed, Dave and Janet could not have been better hosts. The snack and breakfast items they left were more than generous. Their suggestions for transportation and golf cart rental vendors were the best we ever experienced on the island. Both Rhino Transportation and Julian (golf cart) were more than accommodating and very pleasant to work with. We’re so thankful to have had such a wonderful vacation and we’re looking forward to our next trip to Casa de las Olas!

Best choice on the island

Loved this home! It was such a superb fit for our trip. Right on the ocean cliffs with fabulous views out of the dining, living and primary bedroom. The back deck and rooftop areas were perfect for lounging at all times of day. The landscaping and entire property layout, including the enclosed garden area leading to the rooftop are gorgeous and offer such a peaceful space. Owner and property manager were incredibly prompt and lovely to work with and provided us with everything we needed. Would highly recommend staying here!

Dream home across from the ocean

this home is amazing. Everything is as advertised, the owners are very nice and they really help you connect with nice experiences on the island. we had bad weather so we had to be home a lot and we really appreciated how comfortable and well equipped it was. from the front porch we could see turtles bobbing in and out of water. the neighborhood is quiet and a short walk from the stunning punta sur - which is a big plus.

Welcome to our Mexican home. It has been a wonderful venture with many challenges. All worth it. We hope that you enjoy your stay in our Isla home and ask that you treat it as you would your own. Enjoy !!
Casa de las Olas history -- After visiting Isla for several years, property became available in the south end. In 1999 we purchased our lot. There were no other houses near our property. Our main house was finished in 2002 and ready for move in without any electrical power. That’s right, the first two years there were no poles along the street. Generator, my, it was noisy. We and the few homeowners down south of us established a home association and worked with the electric company to install electricity (of which we had to pay significant dollars). In 2004 we added the Mexican Casita so we would have more room for visiting family. 2005 was a big year with our last major hurricane, WILMA. We woke up and the house was still here, so we said, OK," let’s put in a pool". In 2006 we were swimming. In 2012 we remodeled the master bedroom and bath with a heavy sliding door for our privacy when family and friends arrive. In 2019 we decided to share with others and rent while we were up north. That same year we added split air-conditioning to the bedrooms. Full house air normally is not needed plus very expensive. In 2025, we decided to convert a large storage are to a fourth bedroom and bath. So here we are in 2025, I am now 83 (and the love of my life, Janet has passed) renting to you as I spend a little more time with family in the USA. So, please, enjoy our casa for Janet and me.
Our United States home is also on an island, about twice the size as Isla, called Grosse Ile located in Michigan. We have been very thrilled to have two homes with water all around us. Lucky too! SO PLEASE ENJOY OUR ISLA HOME.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

When we bought the property, there was only one house on our Oceanside. It was unbelievable: the many colors of blue water, the cooling breezes, and island wildlife. Paradise!!! YES...
Slowly others have joined us, buying property and adding their dream house. Now we have what we dreamed of before year 2000, but with great neighbors and their guests.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Living next to the sea and enjoying a laid back life. In addition, a short ride away you have the white sand world famous north beach, a Centro district with touristy stores and many many fabulous restaurants. How wonderful it is.
